History

Established in 1991.

Owner/​Founder, Carlos Mostacero, showed an interest and ambition in art from an early age. It was during these early years that he was asked to serve an apprenticeship with the Tom Mollor Art Gallery, a well-​known art gallery and custom picture frame shop in his area. He was quickly seen to have an eye for color, imagination, creativity and a passion for excellence. After gaining experience in a variety of top art galleries and custom picture frame shops learning special techniques in matting, uses of fabrics, shadowboxes and conservation framing from some of the best in the business, Carlos had a desire to open his own gallery and custom picture frame shop and in 1991 he did just that. Within the first year, Carlos gained a reputation for high-​quality workmanship, competitive prices and speedy service, completing his customers’ jobs in a fraction of the time of many other shops. Now Carlos is also providing Professional Art Installation services for home or office.

I just had Carlos and Eric here to hang a structural art piece that was (to me, anyway) a bit more complicated than your basic «screw in a nail and hang it» job. I didn’t want to potentially ruin a great paint job and mess up my walls. I really wanted to leave it to a professional. And professional they were!
Carlos was very responsive over the phone setting up the appointment and keeping in touch.
When they arrived, they took a look at the piece, asked me how I wanted it to be positioned on the wall (it is in two pieces) and they went to work, really taking care to respect the paint job and to make sure everything was done correctly. In no time, the art was hanging just as I wanted!
Throughout their work, Carlos and Eric were engaging and friendly, careful and efficient.
The woman who left the (ONE!) negative review for Carlos really got it wrong.
You’re definitely in good hands with Carlos and Eric!

Carlos, my friend. Carlos, Carlos, Carlos. Thank you so much for your help. I had struggled for over an hour to hang a 40-​lb. Ikea mirror in my hallway. I had done everything right: I had read the manual. I had watched videos. I had Googled. I had driven to OSH 3 times, purchasing different screws, drywall anchors, and what-​have-​you. All to no avail. This 40-​lb. monstrosity threatened to crush my children if it fell due to my shoddy hanging efforts and, with it, my dreams of self-​sufficiency.
I accepted defeat.
I sent you a Unilocal message asking for help, and you asked me to text you a picture of the beast. When you responded to me (promptly and amiably, I should add), you told me that all I needed to do was turn the mirror right-​side-​up (yes, I had been attempting to hang it upside-​down… I admit this, as I do all my mortal flaws and weaknesses), and hang it by a special notch that had been designed just for this purpose. In my defense, the Ikea manual that accompanied the mirror made note of no such feature. I blame the Swedes.
After confirming that I was using the correct drywall anchors and screws to ensure no crushings lay in my children’s future, you texted: «No charge.» Hah! As if you could charge me over text. But you knew this. It was all a friendly joke, from one king amongst men, to a lowly peasant who had just regained a glimmer of self-​respect… all thanks to you, Carlos.
I look forward to giving you a task that you deem worthy of charging me for, so that I can finally meet you, clasp your hand in mine, and speak the words, «Thank you for allowing me to not look like a complete idiot in front of my wife.»

They arrived early, were incredibly friendly, professional, and got the job done quickly without rushing. I used Carlos’ services 2 years ago and dug through paperwork to find his number because I remembered him as being a great installer. The crazy thing is… Carlos remembered me as well! These guys are the best. They did a museum type installation of a painting hanging from the ceiling in front of a mirrored wall. They asked me ahead of time what the color of the ceiling was so they could paint the screws to match and help hide them. This is a large painting and they hung it from the ceiling with two monofilament so it would look like it is floating. This was exactly what I wanted and they did a perfect job. I recommend them to anyone needing artwork of any kind installed professionally. They are pros.

Carlos is the best! I called him at 9:30PM on a Tuesday night for a custom framing project that needed to be done by 8AM the next day, and he was quick to offer his services with friendly advice and amazing pricing.
After getting my project priced at Michael’s ($ 130) and Aaron Brothers ($ 110), I was shocked to hear that they had a turn-​around time of 7 – 10 days each on custom projects! (they ship it out to a 3rd party outside of LA and back!?)
In came Carlos to save the day (and possibly my job as an assistant), as he offered to do the job A LOT CHEAPER than the big guys, and promised to have it ready in less than 12 hours! (given the fact that I needed a simple black frame, which he had in stock — fancier frames are usually ordered in advance).
He also gave me great suggestions, and even threw in a double mat for free — now that is great service.
Whether you’re in bind, or just want really great quality work at a very competitive price, come to Carlos — you won’t be disappointed.

What can I say about Carlos and his team? HEAVEN SENT! Truly first rate company!
After calling around and getting extremely high quotes, I decided to contact this company. Thank goodness I did. Not only was he 75% less then all of the other quotes, Carlos kept reassuring me that, he will ‘make it happen’ and work with me.
The work is high quality and so his Carlos’s work ethics. Contacts you to ensure that communication is clear and accurate. Punctual and gets the job done as promised. If your an Artist who is sensitive about leaving your work in the care of someone, then Carlos is the best bet, he’s gonna go beyond for your work. He understands and will care for them well.
I highly recommend this company. Works with your budget and extremely honest.

So happy with the job Carlos did installing a new mirror in our foyer. It’s one of the first things guests see when they enter our home, so it had to be done right… and it was. Carlos and Eric are great! Carlos was courteous and accommodating when I called to set up an appointment, and he texted me to reconfirm the day before. They are professional and knowledgeable. I particularly appreciate how Carlos was generous in sharing his professional opinions, which helped us place some of the pieces in locations that we hadn’t considered and saved us from some not-​so-​good decisions that we had. Eric was wonderful helping us fix a few frames that needed repairs. I was also very impressed by how efficiently they worked together. 28 pieces were all hung in 75 minutes! I don’t think I will ever hang anything myself again! My husband actually hired their service as a birthday gift to me. Thank you, Carlos and Eric, for making this experience such a wonderful gift! Carlos and his assistant left my home 15 minutes ago. I wanted to write my review right away to share this excellent experience. Carlos confirmed the day before, was right on time (even a little early). I think this alone deserves credit, as it shows that he has respect for the client’s time and is true to his commitment. When he arrived, I showed him the pieces I needed to have installed: a round mirror and 4 framed items. Carlos gave great advice as to the best way to install and he had it all done in 30 minutes. When he left, I was very pleased by his work. After 10 minutes, I realized I had told him to hang a picture that was upside-​down! I texted Carlos, he returned immediately, and fixed it in 5 minutes! I will be calling him for any installs in the future. Very impressed!

These guys are great! They were fast, knowledgeable, and have an eye for aesthetics. We had them hang a couple pieces of artwork we have been holding off on to put up because we were not really sure the best techniques for properly hanging pictures. The company I work for in Cypress recently moved to a new office suite. I was tasked with finding someone to professionally hang our artwork. After getting quotes from several companies we decided to go with Carlos and I’m glad we did.
I have to admit that I thought these ratings were too good to be true. But given the fact that his rates were competitive and the examples he had on his website (especially other companies that he’d installed art at) I got the green light to use him.
He and Eric arrived on time and the estimate of time and cost that he gave me was spot on. We had him hang close to 40 pieces and it took 3 hours. That included the time he spent to redo the hardware as well as the upfront time he took to give his recommendations as to where the items should be hung.
I wish I knew about him 3 years ago when I moved. I would definitely have used him for my home. I highly recommend him. He was also personable and easy to work with.

Fast, efficient, friendly – and totally took the stress out of picture hanging. All the other off-​the-​charts-​positive reviews of this business are right on the mark, but we still didn’t realize just how good these guys were going to be, and how different it would be from doing it ourselves. I’d be having a pleasant conversation with Carlos about something, and at the same time he would be measuring, marking, nailing – and boom!, another large piece of art hung at the perfect height with perfect placement. No swearing, complex re-​measurements, or ripping out of nails and starting all over like when I hang art. No dread of the inevitable frustrations to come, just serene and professional work. Who could ask for more?

I would give 10 stars if I could! What tremendously perfect experience.
Carlos and Eric and friendly and professional. I had a plan in mind for where and how all the artwork would be hung. They evaluated the space and offered helpful suggestions on other ways to hang the artwork. They even explained the reason for their suggestions and showed me how both options would look before completing the work. I highly recommend their services. They work very well together and are very efficient.

We hired Carlos based on the stellar Unilocal reviews, so needless to say, we were shocked how he handled our job. Carlos was very unfriendly and a bit odd on the phone, but we hired him nonetheless, because of the positive reviews.
Without going into great detail, the bottom line is that he did not even remotely get the job done. He showed up unprepared and without the proper materials to install ANY of our artwork, promised to come back the same week, and then only got back in touch to say he was unavailable once we reached out to him again.
In addition, he was highly condescending and lacked empathy with respect to our concerns about the safety of the large pieces to hang over our children’s play area.
We’ve worked with hundreds of contractors over the years with great results. This was not one of those experiences.

Great service, good guys, very helpful. Hired Carlos to hang pics, art, mirrors, and do some earthquake proofing of shelves and a mirror. I did my due diligence and called four places – they were all very nice and helpful (and they are all main competitors for this work here on Unilocal). Here’s why I chose Carlos and Art Installation Experts:
1) There was no uncertainty. Carlos knew what it would cost me, what day and time he would be at my place and what needed to be done for each piece. I like certainty. Nothing worse then, ‘Well we’ll have to see…“
2) They are certified to handle delicate art. You can look up their certification – that meant a lot to me even though I don’t have anything expensive, but it was just more confirmation that they would be competent.
3) No hidden fees. All other companies had other fees and costs not reflected in their ‘advertised’ price. Carlos was straight up about it.
Once I made the decision to hire AIEs, they came promptly on the day we scheduled (night actually, which really worked well for me), and here’s why I recommend them:
1) They were fast – took them only a half hour… bing, bang, boom, done. I still paid for the full hour, so don’t go trying to get their great service for cheaper if they are fast – they are worth the full hour.
2) I needed guidance as to where to hang. Carlos was so generous with advice, explaining why and so forth. C’mon these guys hang art for museums! Duh!
3) They were straight up about what I needed and what I DIDN’T need! They could have easily taken my money and secured my shelves, but Carlos confirmed what I had suspected that my bookshelves were secure enough with all the heavy books weighing it down. They secured my mirrors, that was it.
Great guys, rockin’ service, high integrity, fair price – what can I say? Hire Art Installation Experts – you won’t be sorry.

I am so glad I found these guys. I have used them three times now. They show up on time, they brought everything they need to install my artwork, and they are meticulous and finicky (like me). I liked that they let me eyeball where i wanted the paintings, but then they measure things and spaces and walls and distances a bunch of times and suggest some heights or placements or locations that had never occurred to me and that I liked better. Carlos and Eric are great. I would not hesitate in calling them. They ain’t the cheapest, but quality rarely comes cheap.
