Design Moulding

I was referred here when I needed some moulding to frame a new sliding closet door. For some reason, my contractor thought leaving it raw with a metal flange across the top was going to be fine! So I needed moulding, fast.
So glad I found them! These are the magic moulding guys. They listened carefully to what I was looking for, and came up with 3 options. I was able to come back the same day to get the one I wanted.
I am hardly their biggest customer, but they got it right! Can’t recommend them enough!

Our carpenter Paul asked us to stop by this place to pick out some moulding and mantel designs and we are so glad that we did because there are just so many to choose from. If you are lost and have clue on where to start, take a moment to ask the owner some questions. He is not only knowledgeable but is super passionate about wood. Give him some ideas on what you like and he will take out the base and crown and all that good stuff out for you to see. He will also give you samples to take back if you simply can’t make up your mind.
Small mom and pop store. Only drawback is that the place closes at 2pm on Saturdays so try and come early so you have ample time to look around.

I can’t say enough good things about the owner Keiron!!! I was told so many times about this place from my contractor when my mom was remodeling her house earlier this year, but we couldn’t find the place (ex contractors have us the wrong name with wrong location) So we ended up getting it from an expensive Chinese place in El Monte, quality was horrible for its price. Anyways, now that I’m remodeling my own home, I literally had my ex contractor bring me to the store so I know exactly where it is. The moment we walked in, Keiron showed up in their not so big show room with a humble smile on his face, asked us what we needed and provided us with different options. After we picked out what we wanted, he gave us a fantastic discounted volume price. Since he didn’t have enough in stock, we opted to come back whenever he has the rest. Unfortunately ex contractor and I had issues and parted our ways, so a month later I ended coming here with our little minivan to pick up the molding. Not only did Keiron already had them ready in bundles for us to pick up, he helped my not to handy dad tie them to our minivan, he did such a good job that the molding didn’t even shift by the time we got home.
My new contractor couldn’t even believe the price I got for the quality of the it, so I grabbed a card for him in case he needs molding for his next project.

I am remodeling my fireplace and the floor moulding next to the fireplace needed to be removed and replaced. I was worried it was going to be difficult to find a match because my house is old. I took my moulding into Design Moulding. The owner took a quick look and told me, he had something very similiar. From my perspective, it was a match. Definitely the place to go for moulding, price was reasonable and the service excellent.

The shop owner couldn’t spend more than 5 seconds with me to try to match my crown moulding. He mumbled in frustration, went to the back, and did not come out. He could’ve easily «stacked» 2 types of moulding to come up with the profile I needed. Trying to support local business is frustrating sometimes.

This is a true local and owner operated business. As a general contractor whose been in the business over 30 years, I often shop here to find mouldings that are unique to the neighborhood homes of San Gabriel Valley. And they are almost always in stock or available the next day. The owner, Carey, is courteous and knowledgeable. He goes out of his way to provide mouldings that are of the best quality and free of major defects. Lot of integrity here. And where else can a contractor practice his putting stroke while waiting for an order to be filled.

Design Moulding Is Great!

this is the go to moulding place in pasadena ca.
Of course pasadena is known for beautiful craftsman houses and most of the time these homes have trimwork galore. its nice to have somewhere near by to buy crown molding, baseboards, cabinets, and those sweet sweet ceiling medallions.
I do alot of woodwork in pasadena from custom built-​ins, bookcases, kitchen cabinets, and woodwork installations and always stop by here to pick up material.
I love this city and this store.

For many of my woodworking/​sculpture project, I often have to pick up ½″ x ½″ pine moulding. For those of you who are laughing at the thought of me working with wood and a saw and. actual labor… SHUT UP! haha
It is imperative that these pieces are immaculate and Design Moulding has the best pine mouldings in the area. Their services are extremely quick and prices are great.
