EpicSpaces Co-Working

What can I say about Epic Spaces… They are plain awesome! The building is so nice and so clean. Coffee is insane good. I came to meet a business that I am working with and gotta say they are great. Been to other coworking office spaces and they are by far one of the best. Rocio is such a nice person, she’s so full of energy! if your near go say hi and check out the beautiful office spaces!

I can’t help but think that some of these reviews are a bit exaggerated. Especially since many (not all) of them have 0 friends and 0 – 2 reviews. But I digress.
The Space: The space is very new and very nice. The natural lighting is good in most of the areas and the break room is really nice, equipped with a fridge, coffee, snacks, TV, and table and chairs. The lounge area is comfy because of the couches, large TV screens with different news channels on (I love this), and it is set up in a way to accommodate small events. There is outdoor space that is available. I’m not sure if you have to reserve and pay, or if it comes with the membership and is first come/​first serve. One thing I take issue with is the variation in the office characteristics without an adjustment in the price. Some of the offices are internal with a small window or wall window that looks into the collaborative work space — not outdoors. I saw three of them — one was very small and cramped. This office should be priced much less than the others. Another was large enough for two desks right up against each other (facing each other or you can face a wall) and one large filing cabinet with little room for much else. The lighting in that office was really bad. The offices on the outer perimeter, obviously, are much nicer with large windows and natural lighting. Prime real-​estate, but all taken.
Price and Tour: When I went to tour the place, I felt like I was at a used car lot. They were polite, yes, and offered discounts. But they wanted to sign me up for a six-​month term right away. Their website (and none of these reviews) mention that there is a 1) refundable (not guaranteed) office deposit that is the cost of the space (i.e., if your office is $ 400, your deposit is $ 400; for the collaborative space, it’s $ 320 plus a deposit of $ 320!), 2) refundable building access key deposit of $ 100, and 3) a commencement fee that ranges from $ 45 to $ 100, depending on what you get. Knowing this before I’m about to sign on the dotted line would be good business practice. And saying that «everyone makes you pay that» is factually incorrect, and assumes that the consumer already knows of these additional costs. They didn’t offer the day pass so that I could try it out for the day. They wanted a commitment for June and July. You also have to take into consideration that you will pay $ 15/​month to park in the building parking lot. The lot across the street that is $ 5 is very small. Street parking is useless since it is limited to 1 hour.
²⁴⁄₇ Access: This is true ONLY IF you agree to pay for the building access key. Therefore, advertising that all membership options get this is not 100% true. The alternative is you get access Monday-​Friday from 9am-​5pm (their hours). If you offer this, you should offer a price break for that limited access, since you cannot use your space on weekends, early mornings or evenings.
Price: Overall, the price is a bit much and the sales pitch is a bit much, too. I’ll add that WeWork offers a private office for $ 450/​month and includes the $ 45 membership or «commencement» fee. For $ 350 at Epic, you get a «dedicated desk and file cabinet.» SpaceCraft provides free copying and printing. You have to purchase a package to get this at EpicSpaces. SpaceCraft and other places offer free parking. You can get your own phone line (who uses that anymore?) and your own internet service provider hooked up in an office at EpicSpaces. I thought that was very cool, especially for individuals who need a more secure internet access than the wi-​fi that is offered.
In summary — the space is nice. The rates are reasonable. However, you have to consider the cost of additional things you might need: printing, copying, parking, etc. The other additional costs and deposits should be provided up front, rather than waiting to the last minute to mention there is a commencement fee. I liked the place and might have signed on. I just didn’t appreciate the sales approach.

Working from home is not easy sometimes. So many distractions at time that need to be dealt with such as the up-​and-​down temperature in the house during the day, the cars rolling by off the street, airplanes flying overhead (I live close to a municipal airport), and not to mention the active neighbors who like to play their stereo very loud with their noisy barking dogs. Sometime things can get a bit dicey when the home Internet connection goes out with no warnings.
All those distractions became non-​issue once I started coming to Epic on a regular basis. The staff members are friendly, and the people in the office are courteous and professional. The Internet connection has been responsive and reliable. Since I like to bring my own lunch, I can appreciate when the kitchen/​pantry area is kept clean and orderly by the staff. The location is also convenient with many shops/​restaurants nearby if you enjoy eating out or just walking around.
Lucky for me, the office is accessible via public transportation from my home on the days when I don’t feel like driving. On the days when I do have to drive, the $ 5 daily parking deal (in-​before-​9am-​and-​out-​before-​5pm) works well for me. You can talk at your open desk if you keep your voice volume at a reasonable level. If necessary, there is a close-​door phone booth setup to give you some privacy. I gladly entered into a contract with a dedicated desk to keep my productivity up.
Co-​working is not for everyone and may take some time to get used to. Always ask for a free trial to fully experience the location and commute over several consecutive days before deciding to commit. As for me, I look forward to working with Epic to grow my consulting practice, service my clients, and continue to build my portfolio.

Best decision made to move to this collaborative space in Pasadena!!! It is such a wonderful work environment and definitely very unique in itself compared to any other building environments out there. Strong Wi-​Fi, two conference rooms, and much more. This is a place where you 100% want to work! The management is so fantastic and they really make you feel welcome at all times. There is a nice clean kitchen for the members to use at our convenience, along with free Urth Coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate, and water. The outdoor patio is ideal for meetings, breaks, or the monthly social networking events that is hosted by the EpicSpaces management for its members. It is located in the heart of Pasadena, with so many eating places at just walking distance from the office, such as Blaze Pizza, Urth Café, Yahaira’s, Zona Rosa, and many other wonderful cafes/​restaurants. Target is a short two minute walk from the building. The location is so ideal. Also, parking is great because you do not have trouble finding a spot and leaving the lot after work is very quick — much more easier and faster than in other buildings where it takes a while to leave the underground parking. Needless to say, if you are looking for a fun, collaborative co-​working space, then you have come to the right place.

You walk into this place and you say, WOW, I want to work here!!! …and the amazing thing is that you can if you want to. My first thought when I walked into this place is that I LOVE the natural lighting. It’s clean and open and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
So if you’re working alone, and feel alone and wish you were simply just around other nice people wanting to be productive, then this is the place for you. The WiFi here is really fast and have found it to be very reliable. if I don’t want to be at my desk, then there’s a gorgeous backyard area and a living room area with comfy sofa’s — where you can work or have small meetings at. I also love that there’s always really good fresh coffee in the Kitchen… and the kitchen is really nice and I can leave my lunch in the fridge, and use the microwaves.
I really like the fact that there are conference rooms here that you can book for meetings and you get a certain amount of free conference room space when you work here.
Even though there are offices and collaborative spaces to work out of here, I personally have a dedicated space, which is a desk where I can call my own and leave my monitor at and put pictures up. It comes with a 2 drawer filing cabinet under my desk that I can lock things up at, which makes it very convenient for me. There are also «telephone booths» so if I need privacy while on a call, I can go in there.
Hmmmmmm, what else would someone reading this want to know? Ahhhhh… parking. So there’s underground parking in the building and the elevator to the parking is right in EpicSpaces’ lobby so it couldn’t’ be any more convenient and safe… and when I have guests visiting there’s a lot of free parking on the streets around us (Colorado Blvd, El Molino and Green Street), although if I want my visitors to be able to park in the building, we can buy validations very reasonably.
I feel like I’m writing too much, lol! But I also love the area for when I need a break. Lot of restaurants all around us. Blaze Pizza, Urth Caffe, Zona Rosa, Settebello, Red White & Bluezz, Vroman’s and Target!!! Lake Avenue is a block away… the Paseo is a 10 minute WALK away. So many places to mention but it makes it fun and easy to be right in the middle of everything.
I’m sure there are many more qualities I could write about, but if you’re looking for a great collaborative environment, I hope this helps give you the info that I know I’d be looking for and would have helped me a lot! I know that they have «Free Fridays» on collaborative space so that’s always an option to check this place out low key. Hope this helps in your search!!!

This is great space for me to get work done and to meet clients in a professional environment. I’ve only been here a few months so far, but the space is really nice. There’s an outdoor patio which I haven’t used that much yet, but it’s always available should I need to get some fresh air and still have access to a strong wifi signal. You can book the conference rooms as necessary… whether for presentations or client meetings. (I plan to have an presentation in the coming months, so I should have another update on the success of that event.)
I haven’t met most of the people here yet, but the staff has a great balance of professionalism and accessibility — they really make me and my clients (really important) feel welcome and comfortable. I’m looking forward to growing my business here.

Just recently signed a contract here and love it. As much as I thought I’d like working at home my productivity just wasn’t there. This place offers all the things I need and value. A great location, good (and reasonable) parking, super nice people, kitchen, really nice areas to eat lunch and meet with clients and associates, shared office equipment, and choice of spaces. I was surprised this location wasn’t completely filled yet. I don’t see this space staying that way for long. I’d check it out.

I love Epic Spaces! I run a college access and success program for girls in underserved areas of LA County. We have four full-​time staff members and have been living in a virtual office for years. We decided to move to co-​working space and slowly transition to a bricks and mortar environment. The feedback from my staff has been phenomenal! No more meeting at coffee shops or libraries for staff meetings! No more asking board members if we can use their offices for board meetings. At Epic, we get traditional office space, FAST internet, printing services, conference rooms, and even a beautiful patio and lounge chairs if we feel like a change in scenery. The location is incredible; it’s near everything! Rocio and Fidel always greet me with a smile and I love the people who work here. It feels like a supportive environment and people are interested in supporting each other’s businesses. They have really useful events too. A marketing company here recently hosted a presentation with Google. I learned so much about social media and we’re incorporating some of the tools into our business. Honestly, I’m very grateful to have this space. I can’t imagine going into an office and not being able to network with new faces. I can’t wait until they open more locations so we have more options to use.

I have been enjoying Epic Spaces since September 2015. The space itself is situated in the Pasadena Playhouse district, which allows you easy access to great coffee shops, great restaurants and entertainment.
Furthermore, i can’t say enough about the co-​working environment itself. Networking just automatically happens. I have made so many great new business contacts. I am now have new friends that are producers, real estate developers, over seas manufacturers and lawyers. I really don’t think this would have been possible at a traditional office rental location.
I love the extended conference rooms and the kitchenette and it all just seems to come together in this building. It is the best way to start your own business. The future of business is co-​working shared office space and Epic Spaces seems to be in the lead of how it is done right.
If you are in the market for an office or work space or a cubical, I highly recommend that you consider Epic Spaces in Pasadena.

We recently rented out the conference room at EpicSpaces for a work event and we couldn’t have been happier. The location is fantastic, near tons of restaurants and easy to park. The place itself is super hip and has a great layout. Nice to know we have a place to hold meetings at or pop in and get some work done.

EpicSpaces works for me because I’m able to work near my home and schedule appointments with my clients. I can use a conference room if needed to conduct presentations. It’s atmosphere is professional and modern. I also have the opportunity to network with other professionals and learn about their business. It’s centrally located in Pasadena near restaurants, shopping and frwys. If you are looking to rent for short or long term then EpicSpaces is the office for you.
