Fedde’s Fine Homefurnishings

Found this place by luck. We were in the neighborhood and driving by i decided to stop and look around. I’m glad I did because they have really nice stuff. We finally made a purchase on Saturday (early valentines gift) and since President Day Hoilday is around the corner the promotion was no sale tax on bed frames. Saved on the delivery fee to have it sent to Panorama City. Our first sales contact was Kathy but the day we made our purchase her husband Mike helped us out. The brand we got is McKenzie and can’t wait to go back and purchase more furniture from this store. American store since 1937

On Christmas Eve the leg came off a table we had for less than two years. I called the store and my husband took the table in and they repaired it. It was very nice.

Extremely disappointed in this store. When you call in for information, you get interrogated about which salesperson you talked to, when, what you purchased, why are you calling, etc. You always feel like you are speaking to the FBI. This store has the wrong culture, period. They need to try to be welcoming and helpful. This store needs entirely new management.
On top of that, when you get your brand new furniture, it is all dinged up. They wait for you to complain rather than simply fixing it first.

I have bought several pieces of furniture from Fedde’s and i have absolutely nothing to complain about. I talked to different sales people and every single one of them was very polite and helpful. Last year i was looking for an arm chair and the lady who worked with me spent a lot of time helping me to find the right color so it would match my other furniture. I even brought a cushion from my sofa in order to compare the colors.
I also bought from them Handcock and Moore sofa, love seat and an ottoman. All of them had to be custom made so i had to wait for 3 months. Sales people told me upfront that it will take that long and i had no problems waiting. It was well worth it because Handcock and Moore furniture is absolutely beautiful and really well made.
If you come to this store looking for cheap furniture you probably will be disappointed because they are rather expensive.

My husband and I are big believers in supporting local small businesses, so Fedde Furniture was our first stop when we moved from Chicago to Pasadena and needed a new sofa. The level of customer care at this family-​owned business is nothing short of amazing. The entire staff, from sales to delivery, is attentive and helpful. If you read other reviews here, you’ll notice that reviews with less than four stars are quite often written by people who didn’t even purchase one piece of furniture from Fedde. They’re commenting on their impressions of the prices or a feeling they got from a particular salesperson. (Those same Unilocalers are probably the kind of people who assign stars to restaurants based on the décor or the parking lot, rather than the food.) This review and my five-​star rating is based on my actual purchase experience at Fedde Furniture, and I highly recommend them without reservation.

I have bought several beautiful pieces from Fedde’s (on Colorado) in the past. A unique burl sideboard with inlay and painted flowers for the Foyer and a lovely dining table and chairs from the French Heritage Collection. I’ve gotten many compliments over the years on them. Everett was my sales person and he was very helpful. I would return if I needed something new. Fedde’s has a great selection.

We came by over the holidays. Immediately we made known we are from out of town and we were just browsing for a dining set. The nice sale lady went over the sets we were interested in and answered all of our questions, even though she wasn’t about to sell us anything. We appreciate the service. They also had very nice furniture and the price seemed very reasonable.

We’ve had mixed results here.
On the one hand, we got a beautiful bunk bed here. Incredible quality, something we couldn’t find anywhere else. It was over $ 1000 12 years ago. Just a lovely piece of furniture. We also got a huge rug and some overstuffed chairs here that we like. Again, better quality than we could get elsewhere.
On the other hand, I totally understand the Unilocal comments about service being condescending; there has been great variability in the attitudes of their sales people. And while most of the stuff we’ve bought here has seemed to be of good quality, my wife just hates one piece we bought. It sounded really good, but hasn’t held up well at all. It was unsupportive from the moment it arrived and we probably should have complained immediately, but we had waited forever for it, and we figured «Hey, it’s Fedde’s! It must be good!» We replaced the cushions and that helped, but the fabric has quickly worn, and overall it’s not great quality. If this stuff wasn’t so expensive, we probably would have just written it off, but at Fedde’s prices that’s hard to do.
In short, yes, overall they seem to have good stuff, but not everything is great quality, and some sales people can be off-​putting. Next time we need furniture we’re going to be a little more careful, I suspect.

We recently purchased a sofa bed from Fedde’s. The design, quality and overall comfort of the piece far surpassed anything we had seen in our long search for a comfortable, stylish, sofa sleeper. Wanted to express a special thanks to the sales person who handled our order and the two delivery guys who, in good spirit, went out of their way to ensure that we received the sofa by the holidays. We ran into a few hiccups, but the support and follow-​up we received, assured us that we had made the right choice. It’s a long drive for us to get to Fedde’s, but worth the extra delivery charges and time it takes for us to get there.

We have purchased many pieces from Everett. Love every piece. He is very helpful, not pushy and follows through with your order and let’s you know when it is expected to arrive. The delivery guys were great also.

Hmmm not so much here.
I was immediately put off by the staff as soon as I walked in the door. I felt like I was being judged and assessed to see if I was a serious potential buyer. I felt like I just couldn’t look for furniture on my own without the pressure.
There was however, one really genuine lady, Danielle I think here name was. She seemed genuine but I didn’t feel the same warmth coming from the rest of the staff.

Fedde’s Fine Furnishings? Love it or hate it. I have been to both locations, on Colorado and Sierra Madre, just steps from each other. Went upstairs (SM bldg.)to the clearance section and found a Stickley nightstand for $ 900, and that was the 50% off the retail price. If you want to pay $ 3000 for a dresser, come to Fedde’s, otherwise go to Pasadena Furniture on Rosemead and they will show you some beautiful Mission Style oak furniture for 70% less. My sales associate at Fedde’s was Deborah, helpful and poised at all times. Perhaps a table lamp in the future…

ugh. just ugh. found the PERFECT bedroom set online at multiple sites, found that the brand was supposedly sold here and was willing to pay these people’s prices but wanted to come in and see them just to make sure.
i looked through fedde’s website (have you seen their website? it’s AWFUL!) and couldn’t find out which of the two locations to go to, so called in.
i wish i had the idiot’s name who answered. female caucasian, probably in her 60’s.
i asked her if she had the specific brand i was looking for and she said «well that’s a style, not a company» — mmm, many other sites say differently.
we chatted a minute or two longer and she suggested (again) that i didn’t know what i’m talking about and that i should look at another brand. no, that’s not the point. i FOUND the EXACT bedroom set i want (bed, two nightstands, bureau, bureau with door, and lingerie chest… so 6 pieces) and i have zero interest in searching further.
so she suggested i go to the aforementioned, horribly designed website and take a look to find what i needed.
on the phone with her, i did just that. she said to «find the bedroom» — ok, click on bedrooms and you get 9 pictures, that’s it. i asked where the «search» box was… she said a search box wouldn’t be helpful because they carry «too much»… listen, lady who obviously doesn’t understand shizzle, that’s *precisely* what search is FOR.
i say i’m having a difficult time finding what i need and she suggests i’m on the wrong company’s page. really? um, let’s see… it’s got a pic of both of your stores and your addresses, along with the number i just called.
deep breath.
i say ok please guide me through how to find a storage bed. she suggests i go instead to the «brands they carry» page. um… ok. i do, where i find little hard-​to-​read pics of logos! you can’t even search by name the brands they carry!
i say that’s not going to work, i need a specific storage bed, so how do i find storage beds only? she says i can’t search that way.
sooooo —- i’m supposed to go through ALL of your brands, picture by picture, in order to find a storage bed i already know i want just to prove to you it exists???
what a waste of time.
fedde’s — we just moved. we need an ENTIRE HOUSE full of furniture. we KNOW the prices of what you sell. we’re OK with that. because your sales staff is rude and ill-​informed, however, we’re just NOT ok with YOU.

Reading some of these reviews lets me know I’m not crazy. I went to Fedde’s one day, and thought the furniture looked great. I made the fatal mistake of asking the price of something. Oops! I basically got told that Fedde’s wasn’t the store for me, and that I should probably be shopping for my furniture elsewhere. I swear I had bathed that day, dressed ok for a weekend, and had brought my wallet. Guess my money just wasn’t green enough. Needless to say, I won’t be darkening their door ever again.

Great service. I assume the sales staff is on commission because they were right on me almost as soon as I stepped foot into the store. The staff is nice. They aren’t pushy; they were nice. They have a big selection of furniture and a large store. The stuff wasn’t my style, but it was nice and priced fairly. If you need furniture and you are in Pasadena and like a big selection of furniture and furniture styles, this would be a good place to check out.

RUDE! My fiancé and I went into Feddes shopping Bedroom and Living room furniture. We asked prices on a bedroom set we liked and were being helped by Peggy. She was offended when we asked if we could negotiate a package deal with the bedroom and living room. She stated they arent called «Pettys» as if we were being petty. She is in sales after all… she could have been nicer with her response but from that point forward she was put off with us and seemed offended. We were ready to order our furniture that day. Needless to say our money went somewhere else. Maybe she is used to selling to the very wealthy in Pasadena and doesnt have time to sell 8600.00 dollars worth of furniture to us. I will never go back. Unfortunate this is my fiancé has bought furniture from them in the past but was so offended also he wont be back.

I don’t know about the other reviews, but my sales associate (Everett) was very kind and helpful. He called me back when the pieces I was looking at went on sale.
Really Good selection. He even looked up stuff online for me. Anything I fould oline, he was able to get me pricing on. There are 2 stores. I ended up making my purchase at the one on Sierra Madre (north of Colorado). I would go back again for more pieces.

Great selection of quality Stickley Mission furniture. I am very pleased with all of the purchases I have made from them. Ask for Everett or Deborah they have been great help to me. The delivery guys are great and put everything where you want it.

The movers destroyed my desk in my move south so it was time to buy another. I spotted a desk at Feddes and knew that was the one. It had to be a special order so I did. When It came I realized I should have chose Cherry finish rather than oak. I went to Feddes with hat in hand and explained my error. Well with in 10 days I now have the desk in Cherry.
I’m a happy camper now!

Very good selection of name brand and various small furnitire makers for a very wide range of budgets. We’ve been looking for a decent furniture store since re-​locating from Seattle. The West side is tough unless I’m missing spots. We’ve hit Macy’s, Restoration, WS Home, Elm, Pottery Barn and the others, but had not found a good independent store with lots of brands.
Only downside of this place, (besides location), is the amount of Mission style furniture and extremely dark, antique-​looking stuff wastes a ton of space.
Pricing seemed reasonable… not North Carolina, but not ridiculous, either.
