Founded in 1875, the current church building and chapel were built to serve the community and congregation of Pasadena, California.

This is an absolutely gorgeous church.
The church has been part of the Pasadena community for 150 years and it’s in the heart of the city on Colorado Boulevard just east of Old Town in the Playhouse District.
The stone church was built and dedicated on December 15, 1901 so it’s birthday is coming up in a couple days. It reminds me of churches in Europe and the stained glass windows are absolutely gorgeous.
I am not a member of this church, but the La Canada High School Choral Department has used it the last few years for it’s concerts.
I like watching from the second level and I usually get there early to snag a good seat near the middle. I shot a video last night for the song, «We Wish You a Merry Christmas». You have to actually click on my photos and videos to see it.
If you have an opportunity to see this church I would highly recommend it. They have a great website with all the church information.

This church is spectacular, especially during the day when the sun shines through the beautiful stained glass windows. It is heavenly. I have had the privilege to sing here with choirs I’m in, and the acoustics are fantastic too. Beautiful organ and great viewing from most seats. I highly recommend checking this church out if you are in Pasadena and are a fan of older large churches.
FUMC is located on Colorado blvd. right down from all of the fun shops and restaurants, and there is ample parking in the lot behind the church (for free!) or you can find street parking anywhere in the area — some metered some free. This is a great place to bring out of town visitors too, since it is so near many other attractions and is where the Rose Bowl parade takes place every year.

Nice people. Friendly congregation. Beautiful pipe organ and you have to visit the chapel. Cmon in and visit. Worship on Sundays at 10am

I’m not a member of this church, so this review is strictly of the wedding chapel. Two of my friends got married here and the place was beautiful. There was enough room to seat at least a couple hundred people and everyone was able to watch the bride go down the aisle without feeling far away. The lighting was optimal and the acoustics good, and the lawn outside the building was a nice spot for photos.
On a side note, I wonder if anyone uses Unilocal to find places to get married. There are definitely categories of Unilocalable places that put a spotlight on my Unilocal OCD. In any case, if you’re looking to get married in Pasadena, give this church a look.
