Dr tayab is the most amazing dentist in the world. I’ve never had someone have so much experience and certainty with his work I highly recommend going here.

Before going to Dr. Tayab I had tried 4 different dentists. Most of them told me I had to have a root canal. Either that or an extraction because my molar was broken and the nerve died. I knew I needed another opinion. So I looked through
and checked out pretty much all dentists in the Pasadena area and neighboring cities. I finally settled on Gentle Care Health (I do admit the name is a little misleading but this is primarily a dentist’s office. It could be renamed something better and the words «Spa and massage» dropped).
Dr. Tayab had another opinion. He thought I could keep my molar and have a crown. This man has over 32 years of experience and knew what he was talking about. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction and more. He knew what he was talking about and had the experience and know-​how to back it up.
I had another problem, which was bleeding gums, so Dr. Tayab prescribed a potent mouth wash I had to take for 4 weeks. Before that, I had this pain in my upper right gums that won’t go away. The mouth wash took care of the pain and the bleeding gums. Once I went back to him, he got me the crown and fixed up my molar. I walked away very satisfied and happy that my tooth was saved and I could eat on both sides of my mouth again (but only talked on one side though :).
I know everybody’s experience is different and I read at least one negative comment on here but I can assure you Dr. Tayab is one of the best dentists I have been to. You just have to go see him once to find out. Another fact why he is very good is that his schedule is always full, perhaps a testament from many people who trust him with their teeth and health.
One last thing, the staff is exceptional. Awesome customer service. Linda and Crystal at the front desk are exceptional. Very personable, very friendly and genuinely nice.

I’ve been going to Dr. Tayab since I was 7yrs old. I’m now 31 and bring my daughter. He’s an awesome Dentist. Very caring and reasonably priced if you don’t have insurance. I love the peacefulness of the office. The staff is very friendly and nice. I don’t ever plan on going anywhere else.

I did not share the same experience as the first reviewer did. I will say that the parking there is challenging so be prepared. That area of Pasadena is tough no matter where you are going. I found there office to be clean and quite and I was seen quickly and in and out without a problem. I have been there twice and each time was fine.

I’ll start off by saying I really wanted to like this place. I was in need of a new dentist and so started shopping around. I’d heard coworkers with my same insurance plan (DeltaCare) mention that their first visit at various dentists actually happened in 2 visits– one for the «consultation» and the other for the cleaning. Call me old fashioned, but I’m the kind of lady who likes to take only one afternoon off of work for the whole shebang– xrays, cleaning, checkup, etc. I even like the travel toothpaste and floss and toothbrush the classy places give. Maybe that was when I had better insurance.
After calling several dentists in the Pasadena area, Gentle Care assured me that they could take care of me in one visit– great news! The day before my appointment, they called to confirm my appointment, and also asked what I thought might be scribbled next to my name in their appointment book… «Does this say ‘one visit?’» «Oh yes,» I explained. «When I booked this appointment I made sure you can do everything in one visit because a lot of places don’t, and it’s hard for me to take time off work.» She proceeded to tell me that actually only 2 quadrants of my mouth can be cleaned in one visit, so indeed I will need to schedule a follow up, and «The receptionist that made your appointment doesn’t work here anymore». I explained that it’s difficult for me to get off work, etc etc, and she said I could call Delta Dental to request an exception. I called Delta, jumped through the hoops and got them to agree to authorize the one visit. They faxed the authorization form to Gentle Care. Once that happened, I called Gentle Care to make sure they had everything they needed. The receptionist confirmed. It was a little work, but I didn’t mind because I thought I was all set. Please read on.
I arrive on time for my appointment after parking in the one hour parking zone on the street. I ask if there’s a lot, and the receptionist said «Yes, but it won’t take more than an hour». I asked if they were running on schedule. She said «No, about 20 minutes behind.» Forty minutes for xrays and cleaning seemed a little suspect to me, but because there were no meters on the street, I decided to trust her. The xrays went fine. They were done by the dentist himself which I thought was nice. When it was time for me to head to the chair (a separate section from the xrays), I sat for awhile before the dentist came back with the xrays, put that little mirror in my mouth, and declared me cavity free in probably less than 75 seconds. He didn’t even use that pokey hook thing that most dentists use to dig around in there. Then the hygienist came in and polished my teeth. When she finished the lower section, moment of truth here, she moved on to the top. Success! All 4 quadrants! She then told me I was done. All in all it took about 6 minutes tops. «What about the scraping, the flossing, the removing of plaque?» I asked. She seemed confused and asked the dentist. They told me I had to come back in 2 weeks for that. I explained that I had prior authorization to have ALL OF MY CLEANING DONE IN ONE VISIT, and they still wouldn’t do it. I am so upset and frustrated.
As a side note, while I was spending my quality time in the waiting area, an elderly gentleman came in with some paperwork and appeared to have an appointment with the dentist. It seemed like he was selling ad space maybe in a local publication. When he left, the receptionist Dominique began making fun of him and calling him old. Hello. Have you ever heard of ageism or at least PROFESSIONALISM? I would not recommend this place to anyone. Under any circumstances.
