Ok, as a mongolian frequent flyer I would give this resteraunt 2.5 stars but that’s not an option. I don’t care about the«dated» décor all I care about is the cleanliness, service, and mostly the food and selection. So to start the only soup available was egg drop, however the additional food was ok i.e. some bread, white rice, and spring roll with an additional little meat filled pastry. Going to the food bar was disappointing, they had all the land lover meat, but absolutely no seafood. The vegetable selection was poor at best NO mushrooms, bok choy, tomatoes, green pepper just to name a few.(For you new mongolion bbq’rs these are standard options) The sauce selection was ok, but when the cook prepared the food he would add house sauce to steam the vegetables. Bad, you should only use water for that, if I wanted house sauce o would have added it. Service was average but friendly, I had to wait numerous times to get a refill on my beverage. The resteraunt was not busy and had plenty if staff. Overall I was disappointed with this experience and with my fellow Unilocalers giving it high reviews I expected much more.

Don’t be put off by the need for the place to renovate. While it’s true it could use a makeover, the food and prices are good! They offer all you can eat, and a great mix of sauces to go with your veg and meat choices. With dinner comes soup, appetizers(we got egg rolls and fried wontons), rice and pocket bread but honestly just go for the BBQ! Note: the workers speak Cantonese here. You’ll get better service if you can speak it to them too! I’m married to a Caucasian man, so they kind of side-eyed me at first and we didn’t get our side dishes for a long time… but I speak Cantonese like a native and when I asked for them, they were on the jump for us the rest of the time. Kind of sad they are discerning like that… but maybe it was just us being a mixed ethnicity couple. They seemed really friendly to totally non-Asian families in general. Also, don’t forget to tip the cook!

Wow, unbelievable, this place is over the top good! I tried this place out for the first time a couple weeks ago and have been back there probably 4 times since. The amount of food you get for the lunch buffet and great service for only ten dollars is remarkable. If you have not tried this place yet, you are seriously missing out. Highly recommended. –aj

They have a take-out option or a dine-in all you can eat option. I wish I was hungrier because we ended up dining in and I made one plate, which wasn’t worth the $ 12 price tag. They have multiple protein options for you to choose from: chicken, beef, pork, turkey, and lamb along with a bar of different veggies for you to choose. They also have a sauce bar for you to mix and match whatever flavors you want in your noodles and then they mix and stir fry it for you right there. It’s probably a good deal if you’re going to eat more but probably won’t be back for their AYCE. Service was super nice though! They came back pretty often to ask to refill our drinks and helped explain how the ayce worked.

The best cheap Mongolian BBQ. Been there forever and always the great sauces. It’s a bummer that they took away the mushrooms for lunch but it’s still plenty yum!

This place is phenomenal. Their food is incredibly fresh and the service is just as good. I will say, though, that using two bowls is key — meats in one bowl and veggies in the other; otherwise, you end up spilling all kinds of stuff all over the place! I’m thinking that for the $ 10 it costs for lunch, you can’t really find a better value at all in Pasadena or the surrounding neighborhood…

Great food and service is a perfect combo. My family really loves the Mongolian BBQ at Golden Palace. The employees are always refilling drinks and bringing fresh bread. The restaurant is always busy. My husband goes all the time and I have been a few times. I think I’ll have to put this place on the rotation. Check it out if you are near Rosemead and Colorado Boulevard.

ALLYOUCANEATMONGOLIANBBQFORCHEAP. I’m pretty positive that’s what most people are looking for in these reviews. Both lunch and dinner are under $ 15. You can go back and get as many plates as your tummy can handle! They have different meats, veggies, and sauces you can add. You can either make a noodle dish, or just a meat dish to eat with rice. They also give you bread and soup with your meal. The service is AMAZING. My cup of water is never empty for long. The bathroom is located outside, so you have to ask for a key to use it.

Good, reasonably priced food, and lots of it. There is also an option to buy your leftovers and take them home — the money goes to a food bank, which is a great idea. I’ll definitely be returning.

Great spot to get your Mongolian bbq fix. This is also great for people who are on a low carb diet as they offer 5 types of meat including lamb and turkey as well as a lot of veggie options. Another words, you can skip the noodles and have a fulfilling price. Did I mention that it is all you can eat. Their prices are totally reasonable: $ 8.95 for lunch and $ 12.95 for dinner. Every meal also comes with complimentary soup, white rice, egg rolls, and freshly baked bread. Definitely recommended.

This place has great food and great service. Came here for dinner and they have a all you can eat special for $ 12.99. What is included is egg rolls, soup, rice, and the bread. A lot of food in my opinion for the price. So you definitely leave the place full! The Mongolian BBQ has a good array of meats and I love making my own sauces. At the end of the day its going to be as good as you make it! Although all the ingredients were fresh and the area was very clean! The service is fast & efficient. Also, where most places wouldn’t want you to go back for more, they encourage it. I was too full but appreciate that they come to tell you that. I highly recommend this place to get your Mongolian BBQ fix. I could do without all the extra food it comes with but its a nice touch. Also, if you have leftovers they do charge by the ounce but that money goes towards the food bank.

Not to bad for Mongolian bbq, service is fast and nice. I just think the food/sauce is a little too salty for my liking. But if you like mogolian bbq it’s definitely a nice cheap place to grab the lunch buffet.

This place isn’t terrible like Go Fresh by PCC or it isn’t as fresh as Big Wok in Manhattan Beach but it does work in a pinch if you’re in the SGV. They took away the buffet area opposite of the wok area. I hadn’t been back in years so I was surprised to see that area is completely gone. So you start off with picking your protein. There is your usual frozen strips of beef, lamb, turkey, and chicken. I am a fairly large protein consumer so I usually up one bowl alone with protein. I move on with a bowl full of veggies: cabbage, carrots, zucchini, and broccoli. There are other veggies like bean sprouts and spinach. Finally, you get to the sauces. There are a bunch of sauces you can choose from and the resto suggest a few combinations to try out but you’re basically on your own. I just stick to things I like and am familiar with. You get to the wok guy who cooks up your combination. Please remember to tip the guy something! It’s pretty tasty! You also get a bowl of cream corn soup, fried spring roll, fried wonton, large container of rice, and a basket of bread. The décor is outdated and reminiscent of the 80’s family restaurant but whatever. I am not one about ambiance unless I pay for it. The wait staff is attentive. They came to check on me often and are particularly friendly if you speak Cantonese. I paid about $ 14 and change for a Friday night dinner. I was under the impression it might be $ 10-$ 11 according to some reviews but I guess it’s for lunch. It’s a bit more for dinner.

This place is not bad. For under $ 10/person, you get AYCE Mongolian bbq… it comes with bread(kind of reminds of pita bread) but different taste, it’s actually pretty good and a bowl of corn soup. Mongolian bbq: you pick your meat(there’s chicken, beef, pork, lamb, etc… veggies– there’s variety but no mushroom :(and then you add your chow mein noodles, and add your own sauces. I used curry sauce, house special sauce, sesame oil, chili, lots garlic… it came out good. They also have tip jar if you want tip the cook… I also sprinkled my noodles with some sesame once it was done cooking. They have sesame jar on every table. The servers can be forgetful, we had to ask for a straw couple times before actually getting it. This place can use some remodeling. It’s not the nicest place but for cheap and yummy food, it was worth giving it a try.

The last time I ate at any type of Mongolian BBQ, was when I was in college. I went to a place in the Claremont/Upland area. Because I’ve been out of college for nearly a decade, it only made sense to make a visit here. I was shopping at the Sprouts next door one evening and a most glorious smell was drifting in the breeze… it was the BBQ! When my friends came for a visit the next day, I made sure that we ate here. They loved, I loved it, we loved it! My mom came for a visit recently and I took her here as well. Yes, you are right… she loved it! The lunch buffet is $ 8.95… all you can eat. If you would like to take some food home, it is .35 cents per ounce. There is a great selection of meats, chicken, turkey, pork, beef, and lamb. Also, a good selection of vegetables. Try it out!

I really enjoy it here. They have the all you can eat lunch. Many different meets to choose from and veggies. They give you different sauce options to make your food to your liking. Ouch special comes with a soup, bread, all you can eat and white rice. I always get beef, chicken and lamb with some veggies. I try to make it a little spicy and once in a while I’ll add noodles. Staff is very on point with refills and removing plates from your table. They also encourage you to go back for seconds. LoL. One thing to keep in mind is if you are going to take left overs home they weigh it and charge you for it and I believe they donate what they charge you. I think that’s a great idea. When ever in the area stop by and give it a try.

Delicious AYCE Mongolian BBQ for around 11 $/per person! Meat selection: chicken, turkey, beef, pork, and lamb Veggie selection: pineapple, bok choy, cabbage, onion, squash, bean sprouts, cilantro, tofu Sauce selection: house sauce, sesame oil, salad oil, teriyaki, hoison, chili oil, curry sauce, sweet and sour Complimentary: sesame bread and a cup of egg flower and corn soup Minus one star for charging for hot tea, no more free eggrolls, and one way line so if someone in line is slow, then you’re stuck waiting behind them forever.

Friendly service. Unexpectedly so. Surprisingly lean meats. You get your choice of chicken, pork, beef, turkey, and lamb. All of which come in rolled up frozen disks. Don’t ask. Fresh veggies, if you’re a woman. Tons of sauce options to get… saucy. I go when I want my protein fix. Lots of low-fat meat, some veggies to stay in touch with my feminine side, spices, a little bit of sweet sauce, no oil. Bowl after bowl after bowl of winning. If only the other patrons weren’t so trashy, this place would be five stars. You’ll might see people touching random foods with their hands. I had to call out this disgusting old man for using the tongs as like a hand barrier to press down on the meats with. Absolutely disgusting. Sadly, there is always at least one bad apple ruining it for everybody.

So I’ve always heard fun things about Mongolian BBQ but have never had the opportunity to try it. I grew up in Pasadena and would always drive by this place but had never tried it. I figured since it had been there for so many years and stayed in business, it had to be decent so off we went. I had no idea how it was going to work so I was a bit confused upon being seated. The server told us that it was AYCE dinner for $ 12, which I think is super affordable! We grabbed a tray and each of us started with 2 bowls. One for meats and one for veggies and noodles. You start off at the protein section and had the option of beef, chicken, pork or lamb. I chose the beef. It all looked fresh and thinly sliced. Next was the veggie station and I chose beansprouts, broccoli, bamboo shoots and cabbage. My fave part was the next station of all the different sauces and I decided on their House Special Sauce. I also added some sesame oil and fresh minced garlic and noodles. Next you bring your bowls over to the big stove and you get to watch them cook it all together for you! When we got back to our table, they had served us a tub of rice, some Mongolian bread, egg rolls and tomato veggie soup. I was impressed that we got all of that for $ 12! The stir fry noodles were delicious! The only down side was that I was so full, I couldn’t go back for seconds. But even so, I still thought $ 12 was really cheap for all that we got. The food isn’t super exciting, but the experience definitely is! The service was great and I will definitely be back to try a different combination!

$ 7.95 for the one bowl option, and $ 12.95 for the all you can eat option(as of 5÷1÷2015) So the layout of the place has on one side a small buffet area and then the rest of the place is a dining room with booths surrounding the sides. The small buffet consists of a line of raw foods, starting with meats(beef, chicken, pork, lamb), vegetables(bean sprouts, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, etc), noodles, then a wide assortment of sauces. They’ll automatically add some sauce I believe to be soy sauce, but if you want to change things up they have about 10 other sauces available for you to use, like teriyaki and hoisin sauce. After collecting all the food you want cooked in a small bowl, they’ll put it on a piping hot surface to cook it mongolian bbq style. While the bowl is, as I have mentioned, quite small, everyone piles it sky high without shame and from the looks of it neither the cooks nor the owners care. There is one other«salad» station, which is really a meager selection of canned pineapple, jellies, very sad looking salad and whatever other stuff they could bring together to take up space. Lastly, with your order you get delivered to your table a small egg drop soup, wonton chips, rice, some sesame bread, and an egg roll. This comes to your table regardless of if you get the one bowl option or the all you can eat option. So basically for $ 7.95 you get one whirl at the raw food station, supposedly one whirl at the salad station(but no one watches this station), and a ton of other carb heavy and deep fried dishes delivered to your table. The reason why I gave this place 4 stars is not because of the quality of the food, and especially not for the décor, but because of the sheer quantity of food you can get for $ 7.95. You will eat like a prince on massive amounts of carbs and feel disgusting afterwards, but no where else will you find such quantity for $ 7.95. Which also means, don’t get the $ 12.95 buffet option unless you’re a football player or can eat like a football player! But when it comes to the food, it’s quite simply plain«fake» asian food, nothing spectacular, but something solid and curiously appealing to have over a lunch break after the morning dull at work.
