I am long overdue for reviewing Gotta Java. The coffee drinks are top notch. Whether you are a regular or 1st timer(aka soon-to-be regular), service is down to earth and warm. All without dragging my @$$ out of the car… Word to the wise: cash only. And I would still give 6 stars if Unilocal would let me.

Coffee is decent, service is unprofessional. I would come back just because it opens super early. Other than that tons of better coffee down the street.

Much more than great coffee! Seriously, when I’m not feeling the day ahead of me, I make sure to stop by here first. Teresa is AMAZING. She’s the fun, bubbly, happy person that if you start your day with, you can’t help but feel better. She always makes sure your coffee is perfect, gets it done fast, and is a burst of sunshine — all without you ever having to get out of your car! My first time here I wasn’t aware that she only accepted cash, but she gave me an IOU! I would normally drop my review a star for having limited payment options, but there’s really no room to give her less than 5 stars!

Good coffee, one star management. When I had a young child, I used to come through this drive through often. I hadn’t been here in quite some time, and when I did come, often late in the morning, they were out of pastries to accompany my coffee. The reason for the low score is due to the very odd conversation I had today with the owner. I drove through at 8:45 am, and lo and behold they were out of pastries. Keeping in mind that they are open until noon, I asked why she didn’t buy more. She said«I threw out too much, and people will buy coffee even if I’m out of pastries. I only buy enough pastries for my regular customers. I don’t know you, so I don’t need to sell you a pastry because I don’t need your business. My business is with the regulars.» Weird, huh? She doesn’t want any more repeat customers? No need to supply good customer service to non-regulars? Though I always have found this a delightful place to stop for coffee, I made a u turn and stopped into Royal Donut – a cash only, inexpensive shop – for a doughnut and a cup of coffee. I no longer«gotta Java.»

I pass by Gotta Java all the time on my to work, but I normally go to Sbux. One day during the week of Christmas, I decided to stop and check it out. I love the convenience of drive thru! I ordered a small coffee. After my coffee was prepared I realized it was CA$H ONLY. I didn’t have any cash so I was super embarrassed and apologized to «T»(Theresa). She responded with a big smile and said, «You could always pay me next time. And if not, don’t worry about it. I hope you enjoy the coffee and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!» I promised her I’d be back and I paid her back on my next trip to Gotta Java. It’s that kind of attitude that you don’t get to experience much anymore. I super appreciated her joy and her grace. Also, the coffee is really good. I’ve been back many times. I like the following: 1. «T» always has a smile and provides excellent, friendly customer service. 2. «T» always warms up my almond milk so adding it doesn’t make my coffee colder. 3. Coffee is never too sweet despite me switching it up the sugar source. 4. Coffee is not too acidic so it doesn’t upset my stomach after consumption. 5. Despite a line, the wait time is never long.

I love this place! I stopped for the first time after noticing it on the side of the road, and was slightly early for a meeting so took a chance! So glad I did. There were 3 cars ahead of me, and I did have to wait about 2 minutes for that first car to move off(not sure what they ordered), but the next car only took 30 seconds. I pulled up and the sweetest lady took my order cheerfully and immediately knew it was my first time there. I guess she must have a following and repeat customers. I decided to get a soy latte, which was really good and a great size too. She made it within 20 seconds. She had a small display of pastries, which were mostly gone. She said they were very popular and go quickly every day. Then she wished me a great day and said she sincerely hopes I enjoy the wonderful drink. 5 stars just for the service. The latte was excellent as well. You don’t even have to leave your car.

Didn’t realize they didn’t take cash. I was short a dollar and Theresa gave me my coffee anyway. What a sweetheart! It’s that kind of gesture that will bring me back.

The best coffee along with the best service. It is more than a cup of coffee when you go to Gotta Java! You’ll have a friend who calls you by name along with a warm welcome. Teresa is dog friendly and has a treat for all our little doggies. She’ll even remember how you like your coffee!

I never write reviews, but this place is so good. I am very picky with coffee, and thus coffee is so fresh very nice smooth taste! Not to mention Theresa is the sweetest person ever! Up at 5:30 for work best start to my day! Excellent cup of coffee!

This is such a fantastic coffee hut with somewhat of a cult following. It’s a convenient drive-through a few blocks from the freeway exit. You can get your morning fix without having to park. Plus, you get exceptionally friendly service. 5 stars for helping people start their day properly!

I’d give this 6 stars if I could. I go here just about every Saturday morning. Theresa remembers me and what I usually order. I did forget cash one time, and as other reviewers have noted she gave me a coffee and a donut ONTHEHOUSE. Very sweet of her. Why get an over-priced, below average cup of coffee at Starbucks when you can get so much more value at Gotta Java AND support a local mom-and-pop business? It’s a no brainier.

I had spotted this little jem every morning while driving to work. Finally decided to go check it out. I pulled up(drive thru, convinient much) and immediatly asked if it was cash only, the sweet lady behind the counter said yes, I never have cash on me so I just responded with«ok ill be back another day» but she insisted on making me the coffee of my choice anyway. Talk about being sweet! Literally made my day with just that one act of kindness. She also offered me food, of course I didnt take any. I will deffinetly be coming back with cash in hand and buy my morning coffee here. I loved how sweet she was and how she made conversation with me despite her knowing I wasnt going to pay her. Thank you for my soy latte! It was delicious! And I truly appreciate kindness, such a breath of fresh air.

Outstanding coffee, strong not bitter, and great service. I’ve been going here in the mornings for over a decade and will continue to do so.

This place has great coffee! The coffee was smooth and had no bitterness like several other coffee shops do. I had a brewed coffee with espresso and my wife had a pumpkin latte, both of which were highly recommended!

I read all the great reviews about this shop and decided to try this coffee shop when I needed an extra boost of energy. I stopped in and got a Pumpkin Latte and while the coffee was really good the lady who runs the business is really genuine and was so helpful for my little coffee. She asked me how I liked my coffee and made sure that I tasted it before I left. I felt like being to nice to everyone I saw after her friendly sunshine ! A beautiful way to start your day ! Go for it !

Worth the pit stop every time! Friendly, gracious, and kind to all. I’m not sure what I enjoy more, the coffee or personal pick me up. I didn’t think it was possible to find someone who’s gift in life is to just be kind and encouraging to everyone all the time. I actually owe for a cup of coffee I was short for once. Wow! Who does that these days? I’m beginning to wonder if this spot isn’t actually just a cover for divinity in disguise.

I’m with Nataliya D. who posted on 4÷28÷2015. I actually got yelled at by the owner. She told me she’s «sick and tired of how spoiled her customers are» and with that, I was no longer a customer! Simple as that. It’s easy to find places that actually want your business. Her whole schtick is totally fake and the minute she loses patience, she bites.

The coffee here is SOOOOOO good. I love the flavor and the vibe here is great. I don’t like my coffee super sweet so I just tell Teresa and somehow she knows exactly how to adjust the sweetness perfectly. I’ve only gotten iced lattes which I love but my BF gets the hot ones and although usually pretty picky about coffees, gave this one a huge thumbs up too! I also love the convenience of a drive through for coffee. If it’s a rainy day or you are in a rush, it’s perfect. She’s always super prompt so stop by even if there’s a line of cars. Trust me, it’s faster than you think. It can be tricky to find but it’s right by the self storage place, almost diagonal from a Starbucks across the street. And Teresa, what more can I say that hasn’t been said? She is genuinely one of the nicest, warmest and most positive people that I have encountered. I feel a little brighter every time I stop by. The huge chain coffee shops don’t even say hi or smile at you. It’s nice to be treated like a person instead of just an order. Anyways, I drop by here any time I’m in the area. Thank you Teresa for being so wonderful and for the great java!

I must say… I never had better experience getting a morning coffee elsewhere! Really. Seriously! I’ve been passing by Gotta Java every day for the past few months and thought it was very cute and interesting how there is a mini drive-through coffee stand right by a storage place! Yes, When I visited for the first time, I immediately noticed how wonderful Teresa was! She was just full of positive energy and was giving out happy virus to all the customers! I left not only with my cup of coffee but Teresa actually brightened my day! Next time I went, I ordered a latte, then realized that I was short a little! So while going through change, I asked her to give me a smaller cup, but she insisted that I take my original order! She said«if you don’t have cash, it’s fine too! Just take the coffee!» Ummmmmmm who does that? This is 2014! But Teresa is an owner who believes in karma! She even let people take whatever they want on the house when they don’t have cash(yes, this is cash-only spot) but people just keep coming back! I also went back and made sure to give her a good tip for just being super awesome!
