Hill Smog Test Only

I have been coming here for my last 3 smog checks and I will continue to come here because they are the best! Quick, professional and very pleasant.

super fast, great service. i had expected to be there for at least 40 minutes, but got out in less than the time it took to drink my coffee. The owner of the shop was very nice and professional. the price was fair. I have nothing to complain about and would recommend all my friends in the area to go to this place if they need a smog check.

I usually go to this place and get all my vehicles smog checked. Today I went and was sorely disappointed. The owner is out I’ll and the people pitching in for him are the auto repair shop next door, they are not doing right by the owner
I got there a few minutes before the shop was to open. Their driveway was blocked by a car. I was told to pull around to the left of the shop. When I pulled back around another customer had pulled in. I let the person know I was first. He said don’t worry. The other customer’s vehicle was moved and I was assured I would be taken first. I waited and noticed a different person came and took paperwork from the other customer, essentially making me second. When I brought this to the attention of the guy he said the customers needs would be handled quicker than my needs. The guy didn’t find out what my needs consisted of, he just put me off.

Great service! I called ahead just to make sure it wouldn’t be a problem to just drop in for a smog check and I was told it wouldn’t be a problem. The gentleman who did my smog check, I assume was the owner, was very friendly. He said it would be about 15 minutes, but I think it was less than that. Not only were they really fast, but very nice and professional. He even reminded me of my registration due date and the methods of payment DMV/​AAA accepted. Just an overall great experience!

Friendly and quick. $ 50 and only took about 15 minutes. Didn’t make a reservation, just pulled up at 1:30pm on a Friday.

I stopped by only to get a smog check since i was past due and happened to see the sign. I’m not from the area but I did a quick DMV website check to make sure they’re valid (they are) and I quickly followed that up with a Unilocal check.
We drove right in on a Saturday afternoon. The traffic of the car wash made me a bit hesitant but I was the only one there for a smog check.
The test didn’t take any time. 5 stars for that. While I was paying I found out that it came with a free car wash that I wasn’t expecting or needed but what the heck. My review of the car wash place (I’m writing a separate review)? 2 stars…

I went here based on other Unilocal reviews. I didn’t make an appointment, and it was no big deal. The place is easy to miss, though. It’s just after Walnut if you’re traveling northbound on Hill, on the right hand side, next to Gabriel’s Auto, The guy was friendly and the price was decent ($ 45 for smog check). I was in and out in less than 15 minutes on a Saturday. Love the swing.

Called them up the day before about a smog check. The gentleman asked me about the make and model of my car and proceeded to quote me a price! I brought my car in the next day and he remembered me! Already a plus!
He had me fill something out and said it would take 15 mins. I was out of there exactly 17 mins later! It doesn’t get better than this… A silky smooth transaction!
And someone said this already, but I’m gonna go ahead and say it too… seriously, get over the fact that the place is a little beaten. You’re getting a smog check NOT a spa treatment.

Shant is good man. Easy transaction from my phone call to make an appointment, to knocking out my DMV renewal smog test. Other places wanted more. He did the smoke quicker than I could come back from the thrift store across the street. And the comment about not being a clean shop is a joke. Its a smog test shop, not a hotel or spa. In the end my family’s line of smog test will be coming here. Hope others support Shant’s buisness as well. Cheers !

Called them up and they gave me price quote of $ 50 which seems pretty standard for around here. When I got to the place, there was no line. The guy didn’t seem too friendly but asked me to wait. He said it would take 15 – 20 mins, And it surely did. While I was keenly observing what he was doing, he was running a few tests. I was in and out of there in 20– 25 mins. I’d recommend this place. Not a huge fan of the cleanliness in the shop. I suppose its a typical mechanic/​car repair type place.

I went to this place two years ago because of the good reviews on Unilocal.I also called around to check the prices at a few other places, and it was definitely cheaper. When I stopped by, there was no wait. The guy was very nice and took care of my car very quickly. Now that I have to get another smog test, I’ll be going back there.

I called in at around noon on a Saturday to see if they were open for smog testing and lucky for me they are open to 1pm on Saturdays. They said to come on down and that there was no wait, so I did, and I was done in 15 minutes tops.
The service was very professional and friendly and not at all pushy, and the smog test, plus certificate, was $ 10-​$ 15 less than most places. The garage and equipment looked newer and not all shabby like other garages I’ve visited in the past.
I’ll definitely go here again.

No fuss and straightforward. Called ahead for a price and to make sure there wasn’t a significant wait. Got there and was in/​out within 15 min. Good transparent and friendly service.
The only reason why they don’t get the 5^th star is because the facilities are a little beaten.

I went here after reading the other 5 star reviews AND it is 2 blocks away from where I live… perfect. This was the first smog check of my life. I shipped my beloved car all the way from Hawaii where there is no such thing as a smog check. I was nervous I would fail since my car is 16 years old (but still GREAT!!!) but I did pass.
The guy mentioned in the other review, Shant, was the one who helped me. I just pulled up (after missing the entrance and going around the block) parked and said «Hi, I need a smog check and I’ve never done this before!» He was very nice and explained the process and the pricing. I waited maybe 15 minutes, paid and left! One down side was the waiting area. It’s all outdoors under a tent thing which was pretty uncomfortably hot in late August. But. if I ever need to do one of these again, I would definitely go back!
They share a driveway with a mechanic shop right next door (north) on Hill so its kinda easy to miss. Easier to see their sign if you are driving south on Hill.

Smog checks are not my idea of fun. It was fun doing it here. They had it done in about 15 minutes, got the papers completed and were very courteous. Will definately go here again, and you will too if you want it done quickly, fairly and goodly (yeah…it should be a word) :p
