Huntington Plaza Pediatric Group

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review. I can’t see myself trusting anyone else with my sons health besides Dr.Rivera. We moved to this medical group on a recommendation from my OB almost two years ago. Dr. Rivera is patient, thorough, and gentle. My son feels at ease with him. It’s also not a pain in the arse to make an appointment and the front staff is very kind (which is rare these days). They are also open some Saturday’s a month for things like flu shots which is great.

Dr. Audrey Reid is by far one of the best pediatricians out there. Whenever my daughter would scream or cry in the room, Dr. Reid was always patient, reassuring, and always had a smile on her face. You can see right away she loves kids and loves being a pediatrician. If you have any questions, she will answer them all, no matter how long the list. Dr. Reid is very detailed and will take the time to explain (unlike other pediatricians I’ve experienced). The Dr. Visit is never rushed and you will leave fully satisfied.
There’s a time where Dr. Audrey Reid was unavailable due to being booked for the day and my daughter was seen by Dr. Ruby Batin, a more straight to the point type of personality. Dr. Ruby Batin seemed to rush through the visit a little but she is still very thorough and will answer any questions you have.
The staff is very friendly and the environment is both clean and cheerful with toys, books, a movie playing for kids, colors on the walls of the waiting room along with the rooms you meet with the pediatrician (unlike other offices I’ve seen that appear cold and dreary).
Parking: It used to be cash only but now there are machines in the parking structure in which you can pay either cash or with card. There is always someone friendly there to assist you.
Wait Time: I think the shortest wait time was 10 minutes. It all depends on what time of day you choose. Sometimes there’s a lot of people, other times it’s empty. Mornings are usually the best to book an appointment.
Just know that even if you’ve made an appointment, you’ll still have to wait 10 – 20 minutes before you are called into a room.
After you’re in a room, it’ll be another 10 – 20 minute wait.

The doctors and staff at Huntington Plaza Pediatric go above and beyond for their patients. Everyone, from the front desk to scheduling to nurses to the amazing doctors, are focused on the needs of their young patients. Dr Rivera really takes the time to talk to my kids, listens to their responses, helps them to discuss their health concerns in terms they can understand. When my son needed medical documentation for school on a RUSH basis, the caring and concerned woman who answered my call went above and beyond to provide what we needed.

I have been taking my son here for 3 years now and we recently had another child and all I have to say is we LOVE IT here. Dr. Rivera is my children’s main Dr and he is the best. Always very friendly and takes his time explaining things to us whenever we have questions and the best part is he ALWAYS washes his hands in front of us before he shakes our hands to say hello or begins exams on our kids. We have also seen Dr Batin a few times in the hospital and in the office with both of our kids and she is great as well. She is very caring and knows a lot! However, overall this place is great but the wait can be very long when waiting in the room to see the Dr and especially when calling in to make an appointment. Despite that I would recommend them to anyone who is searching for a pediatrician.

Dr. Reid is a great but the same cannot be said about the billing staff. Took my son for his 9 month wellness checkup Sept 2013. Received a call this week stating Blue Shield denied our claim. Why wait 8 months to call? The approval was obtained before my son was seen. Clearly someone in the office dropped the ball and I have to pay. So glad we switched to Kaiser.

The Castillo’s have been patients here since 2008. Dr. Rivera is really good at explaining what he’s doing, why he is doing it & makes sure he washes his hands in front of his patients before the examination. I like that part! The separate waiting rooms are an excellent idea — well babies & sick babies.

Our Family has been seeing Dr. Rivera since my 1^st son was 6 mos old, he is now 7 and my younger son has been seen since birth. Though at times the office is really busy and there is a wait we always feel like we always get the attention we need. I schedule my boy’s annual check up’s on the same day and Dr. Rivera has been great with splitting his attention equally between them. When one is sick they are both sick and I always have been able to get same day appointments when they need them. Dr. Rivera is a big fan on recommending a natural alternative before presscribing any medication and checks out every possiblitiy before you leave the office. I reccommend this office to any new parents or someone looking for a new pediatrician.

The staff is always very friendly and kind to my daughter. This is the second time I come to see Dr. Batin about my daughter having fever & leg pain. The wait is always longer than the visit with Dr. Batin.

I think that this place is great, can be packed at times, but the staff is great and so are the doctors. Love Dr. Batin and she is great and always so nice and efficient.
