First let me say that my wife is an aficionado when it comes to hot dogs. With that said this place rates a WOW! We ordered 4 dogs: 2 New York dogs for her while I had a New York and a Chicago dog. We had ordered 1 large French fries to split. My bad. Went back and ordered my own side of fries. The fries were hot, fresh and slightly crunchy. In other words PERFECT. Now for the dogs. My wife gushed that they were the best she has had in over 10 years. They come with spicy brown mustard and lots of sauerkraut. The bun was soft but not mushy which was also good. She said next time she would have onions also. I loved my Chicago dog. It was loaded with all the right ingredients. You know it was all great when you sit and choose which hot dogs you will order in the next visit. The shift leader(Lennin?) walks around greeting and asking if we needed anything. At a hot dog joint? He was excellent. Must be why the rest of the staff were just as outstanding. The place was spotless. The bathrooms were hospital level clean. It sparkled. I did notice that everyone in the restaurant was on the older side of age. Could it be because the fast food restaurants are cheaper? Before we left Lennin gave us a complimentary large order of hot apple bites covered in cinnamon. To absolutely say we died and went to heaven!!! We are going back and taking friends the next time around.

It’s pricey for fast food. Main thing is hot dogs but cheeseburgers good too. Oh, and cotija fries. oh yumlicious. Mango tea available, brewed. Not crowded even during lunch.

I like to come here when they have their coneys for 90 something cents:) i like how the bread is bigger than the hotdog. Chili does seem a little oily but the flavor goes well with the hotdog. Today I was a little disappointed when my hotdog bun was not as soft as I remember last time…

We drove 15 min out of our way because my husband was craving James Coney Island. The website said they were open until 11pm, but when we pulled up at 10:30 they were already closed. Very upset that we wasted our time and gas

What can I say? I do enjoy the hot dogs they provide however there comes a time when a business becomes too greedy on what they charge for their main staple. Pushing 3 dollars for cheese Coney w chili is absurd! So my rating is purely based on their prices. I find that paying 8.65 for a two hot dog combo(walker st) is outrageous, no wonder this place was dead on a Sunday afternoon. JCI needs to wake up and realize you are driving away guests with your over inflated prices! When I last visited I did not want to pay their prices for a hot dog so I opted for their Juicy Lucy it was less than marginal at best. It doesn’t even come close to the standard 8 oz of beef you typically find at other establishments. And @ $ 5.89 you would expect it to come with fries and a drink think again wrong! So stay away buyer beware unless you enjoy being ripped off!

This is my first time eating at James Coney Island. I don’t like hot dogs and wasn’t sure what all they had on their menu, but they had a good variety of options from hot dogs to hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. I ordered the James Burger combo on a wheat bun. It was actually a lot better than I was expecting it to be. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Definitely a good dining experience.

Had the polander dog Chicago style and was quite good… Ordered New York style but hey next time I know to go in but none the less not dissatisfied one bit. I will return and try some other style dogs.
