Kevin Farnam, MD

This is a well run allergist office and when I met with Dr. Farnam for my initial consultation, he was a very personable and considerate physician. I had some unusual requests when I first visited him having had bad experiences at other allergists in Los Angeles, but he was able to meet them and write a letter about their billing procedures. I’ve been going here for regular allergy shots for around 2 months and have been treated very professionally and quickly. The staff members who administer the allergy shots are very good as well as the front office staff. I highly recommend checking out this office if you’re looking for an allergist office to help wth your allergy needs.

I’ve been coming here for the past 2 months for allergy shots, and I couldn’t be happier. When I first had my visit with Dr. Farnam for an allergy test, he was able to clearly walk me through what allergens affected me as well as how immunotherapy could help alleviate my symptoms. While I was informed that immunotherapy usually requires up to 2 – 3 months to reach a once monthly maintenance shot, I asked Dr. Farnam if there was anyway to speed up the process, as I would be moving out of state fairly soon. He pointed me in the right direction, and I’ve already started maintenance! The staff, Sandy and George, have been particularly helpful in administering my allergy shots, and they’re always great conversationalists. If you’ve got allergies, see Dr. Farnam– you won’t be disappointed

Such an awesome doctor, listen to patients told me what to do and how to do, explained how to use the medicine, I had never see any Dr this nice and knowledgeable.

We just had our first visit with Dr. Farnam for our 6 month old son who has severe eczema. My husband and I were both so pleased with our experience. Dr. Farnam is very thorough and took so much time with us even though he had a busy schedule and was working on Christmas Eve. He was friendly, answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns (as first time parents we had quite an annoying number of Q’s and concerns). At the end of the exam, he even provided a printout of easy/​to-​understand typed-​out instructions for our plan of action. The attention to detail and care he provided was greatly appreciated. He took the time out to explain the condition and treatment to us instead of just writing out a prescription with one foot out the door like other busy doctors do.
Although I left a bit sad that I can’t eat any dairy, wheat, soy or eggs for the remainder of the time that I nurse my son, the positive experience softened the blow (a little). Wish we had brought our son to Dr. Farnam sooner to have possibly saved him a few very itchy months.

I went to see Dr. Farnham for persistent post nasal drip that was very frustrating. I assumed it was based on allergies, which I have suffered from for years. He spent a lot of time with me asking questions about my lifestyle, and in the end, thought that my issues were caused to some degree by allergies, but also by acid reflux (very surprising). He recommended a course of treatment, and to my surprise, my symptoms have almost vanished. I am greatly relieved to have seen Dr. Farnham, who took the time to inquire more deeply into my condition, and suggest an unexpected remedy. He is creative, thorough, very kind and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Both of my children have seen Dr. Farnam. My 4 year old daughter was about to get her tonsils out, adenoids out, and tubes put in her ears right before we saw him. Turned out it was allergies that was causing so much inflamation. Dr. Farnam has helped both of my children with their allergie issues. His bedside manner is wonderful. He takes his time to listen to all your concerns. I definitely recommend him.

Today Dr Farnam took the time to explain a new co-​pay assistance program offered by the maker of an expensive medication I take in the form of 2 injections a month. My co-​pay was $ 50 a month, it is now $ 5 a month! Dr. Farnam honestly cares for his patients. He offers care for the full patient, not just the disease. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Farnam and his staff are amazing! I can’t say enough wonderful things about them! I took my 20month old for food allergies and he was being incredibly active, but Dr. Farnam didn’t rush or cut any corners. They were incredibly patient and explained everything to me. I will forever send anyone looking for an Allergist to Dr. Farnam. Thank you for being so wonderful!

Positively brilliant. Dr. Farnum is wonderful. Bright, great bedside manner. He’s a bit eccentric but in a totally charming way. Recommend him without question to any adult or child who has issues with allergies. He was incredibly thorough in detailing A plan for overcoming my allergies.

OK, so the doctor has lots of relatives that left these great reviews on Unilocal… but seriously, as someone who has taken all those nasty drugs and sprays all my life, he is doing wonders for me and strongly suggest you schedule an appointment if you suffer from allergies.
About two months into treatment… no food, pet and environmental allergy attacks!!! I have not avoided anything that was causing my eyes to itch and sinuses to act up.
I am no longer a reluctant mouth breather!!!
BTW, Dr. Farnham is observant, respectful and genuine.

I’ll be honest, he is my doctor because my previous doctor moved away. At first sight, I wasn’t really happy because he looks very young, and how much could a young guy like him know about all the complications of allergies & asthma? boy, was I wrong. He is extremely knowledgable, picks up on little comments you make, and he’s very conservative with the medication. he doesn’t just medicate you into oblivion.
He even diagnosed something that my doctor of 30 years had failed to diagnose. I had very sore throat glands, which I thought was something to do with lymph nodes. He asked me a really odd question about «do you get heartburn?» and I laughed and said «all the time.» He told me to try treating myself preemptively with anti-​acid meds and lo and behold, no more pain!
I just figure he’s a modern day Doogie Howser.

I can’t say good enough things about Dr. Farnam! I’ve been going to him for over a year now and have been very happy with him.
He’s an awesome doctor who takes time to get to know me and my health history. He always patiently addresses my questions and concerns and always give very clear instructions and demonstrations.
I once took my visiting dad to Dr. Farnam. He called to follow up on the weekend a few days later to see how my dad was doing with the new medications and to see if we had any question. Which other doctor does that?

I’m so thankful to find a doctor in the Pasadena area who is kind, understanding and intelligent at his craft. I have a 16 month old who is allergic to peanuts and Dr. Farnam has been the best at diagnosing and educating myself and family on the issue. As a mother, I appreciate the patience Dr. Farnam shows with my son and would recommend his services to any parent who’s looking for great pediatric care.

Dr. Farnam was very patient when I had both my kids in there and NOT on their best behavior. He got them on a maintenance regimen that has worked beautifully. He is very thorough, kind and knowledgeable.

Dr. Farnum, has been an absolutely wonderful and awesome doctor. I highly highly recommend him He diagnosed, chose a course of treatment and then went out of his way seeing that I am able to get the treatment I need. He and his nurse Francis helped me call companies to reduce my load of the bill for the particular shots as We have cobra insurance.
Dr Farnum wrote a letter to my home insurance company how I could not stay in the home, because of a roof leak and my allergies.
Dr Farnum is a very thorough, extremely intelligent, caring, result oriented doctor. We feel so blessed that we are with him.

Dr. Farnam is one of the best allergist doctors. He’s young, passionate, energetic, caring, and driven. He has excellent bedside manners.
I developed food allergies in 2008. It made my life miserable with rashes, crankiness, inability to fall asleep because I was restless, agitated, itchy, and inability to stay asleep because the itchiness will wake me up. I went to numerous doctors who weren’t able to manage my symptoms or make my life better. The worst allergist I have been to told me that my rashes are non life threatening and I need to get over my rashes. I gave up on allergists. I took Benadryl but it did not relive my symptoms.
In October 2014, I decided I need to get my rashes under control and make my standard of living better. I went to see Dr. Farnam. My first impression is he’s energetic with excellent bedside manners. I talked to him for half an hour about my allergies for the past seven years and he addressed my symptoms. He diagnosed me with chronic hives. He put me on xolair allergy shot in Nov 2014. It made my life great. I didn’t have to deal with rashes and I can finally sleep though the night. The rashes are gone but I will need to get my allergy shots once a month. It’s a small sacrifice to be itchy less. I am thankful for such a caring attentive doctor who made my life immensely better.

Dr. Farnam is amazing! My boyfriend was wheezing a lot and also had congestion. He has allergies and it causes him to have trouble breathing. A previous doctor at kaiser only gave him an emergency inhaler that was not giving him relief. Dr. Farnam asked through questions about his health and the symptoms he was experiencing. He was very detail oriented and showed genuine concern for my boyfriends health and provided a wealth of knowledge for allergy and asthma problems. His diagnosis and medication has helped my boyfriend tremendously, and my boyfriend can now sleep through the night thanks to Dr. Farnam! Great experience and truly amazing doctor!

Dr. Farnam is outstanding! Having had experience with multiple allergists in the area, I have found one I can wholeheartedly recommend. He is kind, considerate, and extremely knowledgable and thorough in his diagnosis and treatment. He has made me more savvy in recognizing signs and symptoms of allergy, asthma, eczema, that can ultimately affect breathing, sleep, concentration and overall well-​being. He can also test you to see if you really have an antibiotic allergy, such as to penicillins.
He promptly returns phone calls and he calls to check up with you to see how you are doing after the visit to address any questions or concerns. I don’t know any other allergist in the area that has Saturday office hours, which helps those of us who have to work during the week.
He has evaluated several of my friends and their children, and all have been impressed with the care and attention they have received. He is simply the best!

SUCH AN AWESOME DR. At first, I was aiming for Dr. Abrahamian, but she was unavailable for visits. I needed someone last Thursday. that day that I called. I was desperate. I kept getting these hives for a couple of days, and wanted to know if I was allergic to something. Luckily, Dr. Farnam had an availability at 5 that day. PHEW.
They have a parking garage, and make sure you bring cash. They don’t accept credit cards… luckily, the guy let it go for me. :D
Anyways, around 5:10.I was met up with Dr. Farnam, and I have never experienced a doctor that was so caring, and concerned about my condition. I really appreciated how many in-​depth questions he asked, as well as telling me so many interesting things about why this and that could be happening.
I was there for about a good hour, just going through absolutely everything possible with him. I truly felt comfortable. He would keep asking if I had any more questions, he never rushed me, he’s just a great knowledgeable doctor!
I could say so much more, but just take my word for it!
He gave me some prescriptions, and samples of allergy medications to take during the time being, and also wrote out some general directions for me. I loved it!
He told me to call him any time I had questions, and I had to actually call him twice.
Both times he was able to talk to me and answer all of my questions and concerns.
Best doctor I’ve been to so far.
