I didn’t catch his name, but the cashier was really nice. Kind of funny and very friendly. I even got a free drink for being patient even though it didn’t actually take that long to get my order. Got the seafood mix with the bbq beef. Really liked the bbq. Fish was kind of small, but I’m okay with that. Hope I see that cashier next time and get his name.

L&L…it’s definitely not good for you: but it tastes great. Of all the Hawaiian bbq places out here, none offer the quality. There’s a variety of beef, chicken and pork plates with usually rice and a so good, if not healthy, macaroni salad. The short ribs are excellent considering they aren’t from a Korean restaurant, and other stand outs include a wonderfully crunchy, fried Katsu chicken, spicy chicken. The French fries are beyond good, and on the healthy side… almost the only healthy side here, is a good garden salad. Service is friendly. You may wait a few minutes for your order, but that just means you are getting fresh made goodness in a Styrofoam container :)

My boyfriend and I just had dinner here. We called to check their times and were advised that they close at 10 when I called it was 9:40 and we drove over were there by 9:45. As soon as we got there the cashier was rude, she asked if we were eating there or to go, I began to say we would dine in when she very rudely let me know they were closing at 10 and that everyone had to be out by that time. While we sat and ate our meal she had a conversation with a cook. Where the cook continued to trash talk about late customers and wanting to leave and kick everyone out. We sat near the soda fountain in front of the register. As we ate our meal she eyed us down and more customers showed up. One customer showed up at 9:55 and she was told that she couldn’t order chicken because they put it away. This is horrible customer service. I work in a restaurant as a manager and the first rule in business is never say no to a guest. Let alone make rude or snark comments while there are people present. Out of common courtesy they could have waited to be so rude. The chicken was a little undercooked. The macaroni pasta was the same as usual: my favorite part. And the rice is also good here. The service needs to improve. Until then I will not be returning.

Again, same thing as all the other locations in size and offerings. However, they were serving a new dish which was a spicy chicken so I thought I’d order that since I enjoy spicy food. It actually came out not as spicy as I was expecting it to be. It even didn’t have the reddish color that the pictures on the wall of this plate depicted. Don’t know what happened in the kitchen but I think they forgot to add the spice. It was good all the same but I still want to try the spicy chicken sometime in the future. It’s a convenient place for Hawaiian and close to my work so I know I’ll be back at some point.

When I lived in Northern California, we used to go all the time(one in Santa Clara). That store was huge and brand new. When I started working in Pasadena, I realized there was an L&L around the corner from my office, walking distance. My co-workers and I decided to check it out. We got there around 11:50am, and I’m glad we did. There was no line until about 12:15pm — which was fairly long. Their drink selections are awesome — they have fountain drinks and also these Hawaiian Sun(the pineapple orange is the best). They do have a large variety of meals as well, especially quick lunch bowls. Their servings are pretty good as well. However, this store was very small, and much older than some other locations. There were probably only 5 tables total in there, so grab one quickly or come early. Their food is good, it’s not great. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but then again I am limited since I do not eat a meat(I do eat seafood, which is ordered). I also don’t like macaroni salad, so they allowed me to substitute veggies. If you’re looking for a different lunch spot it’s worth checking out. Servings are good sized and lots of options.

Hm. Where do I start. OK, it’s a fast food chain, so I guess I should set my expectations accordingly. Nevertheless… when I came in, the clientele could be politely described as economically depressed(and impolitely as crackheads). The food was sad — over-priced and just… sad. Two stars for value, though. This place is cheap. Thus the crackheads.

Still my favorite lunch spot in Pasadena! I have a 30 min lunch so I always order my food in advance and it is ready when I get there. I have never had a problem with their service. The girls at the counter are always friendly and sufficient. Today I felt a little more adventurous and tried something new, the Kalua Pork Mini. No complaints, total was $ 9.09 including a drink, but I still prefer the Chicken Katsu!

I would just like to update this review for their service. The cashier kept swiping my debit card and said it didn’t work, so she asked for my credit card. I told her my debit card worked since I got my «Chase» auto update saying I paid for it. But she insisted I didn’t get charged for it, so I gave her my other credit card and paid for it again. Now days later, I see that my debit card transaction definitely did go through, cuz the«pending» payment was taken from my account. In addition, my other credit card was charged. Really bad business and service. I tried to explain this and she gave me a lot of attitude instead. Will definitely not come back here to get ripped off. Beware the cashiers here!

It’s a very conveniently placed L&L Hawaiian BBQ. Or any Hawaiian BBQ that’s just a 5 minute walk from the the Del Mar Station on the Metro Gold Line. This may be the smallest L&L Hawaiian BBQ I’ve ever been. But, since there aren’t so many L&L restaurants around my area of the Inland Empire, I take any opportunity to stop by a L&L. The service is quick. The food is tasty. I’ve been here twice now for two different non-barbecue items. The first time for the Loco Moco, which was awesome even in the mini portion. I think there was just one egg, but then, it was covered in a delicious gravy and it just made me all happy. The second time was for the cripsy, delicious, hot, chicken katsu sans sauce. Fantastic. Crunchy. Not overfried. And just wonderful to devour. Coming here is a treat for a quick Hawaiian food fix. And having the Gold Line nearby makes it so much easier to travel around with a belly full of Hawaiian food happiness Thank you L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Thank you for being yum..

Great food and service! Food was delicious as always and the co workers were very nice and helpful to the people I brought who never had L&L before.

I’ve never really been disappointed by the food here. I usually get Kalua pork or katsu, but I’ve also gotten the spicy chicken, ramen, and musubi. All were pretty good with ample portions. But check your order! I came here after a 13 hour shift and was exhausted, ordered two entrée plates. Got home, and found out they gave me the wrong order. Way too tired to drive all the way back. Was also kind of lame cause the plates I got would have cost me less, so I got overcharged as well.

You can always count on the chicken katsu to be crispy fresh here. Ohhhh sooo steamy hot. I’m just gonna go out and say that this L&L seems to be better than most. For one thing, the food always comes out hot and consistent. Eating space here might be the dimmest issue, but they really make use of what little space they have. They started adding seating outside so there’s atleast some address. Number one reason to return: Spam Musubi Wednesdays. -=-Spam Musubi Wednesdays-=- One dollar which is half price! Nuff said. I’m going today after work. -=-BBQ Plate-=- The default order for folks that just want it all. Sometimes I wish there would be larger meatier pieces of short rib and bbq beef, but they almost always make it up with larger pieces of bbq chicken… OF Course… I do that bad thing and I pour teriyaki sauce all over my rice. Belly buster I tell ya. -=-Chicken Katsu-=- I crave this almost all the time. It’s never soggy here, and if you like the katsu curry variety, get your curry on the side so it stays crispy to the bite. There’s always an overwhelming ratio of chicken katsu meat to rice/mac…WHICHISAWWEESOME.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue came to my rescue when I needed to order for a party at my work. I called over the phone and they explained everything to me including the prices and whatever questions I had. I ended up ordering a half tray of barbecue chicken, 24 pieces of spam musubi, and a half order of the kalua pork. All I had to do was place the order a day in advance and I was golden. It was ready for pickup at exactly the time I requested. It’s great that I didn’t have to wait around and waste time since I had to literally pick up the food and get back to work to finish setting up. Would I order from them again? Yes! Everyone loved the food and I enjoyed my meal… I know you will too. :)

Food comes almost instantly, but not necessarily good. The spicy chicken was indeed spicy, but drenched in oil and hot oil chili flakes. The garlic chicken was crusted but so so soggy. The BBQ chicken was the only edible option. Cheap food? Yes. Good? Not so much.

I realized when I came here, I don’t really know much about hawaiian cusine. Nevertheless, I’m always game to try new things! I ordered the Khalua Pork with rice and it was very tender and easy to eat, however, I found that it was really sweet for a savory item. The pork is shredded and mixed with cabbage. Very delicious, but I was just really off put by how sweet it was. There was also a small scoop of macaorini salad. I ordered a large portion and had enough left over to eat for another lunch meal the next day. The staff were all lovely and very patient since I had no idea what I wanted. I really did enjoy the quality, and not necessarily the flavor, so I think I’ll have to come back another time to try something else!

This location is definitely one of the better ones! The place is small, a few tables, but clean. The service is great, very friendly. Everytime I come here, I always plan on trying the other plates… but I always get the chicken katsu plate with rice and Mac salad. They occasionally have the roast pork with gravy on it, and if you’re lucky enough to come in that night, you gotsta try it! So delicious! Oh and don’t forget the $.99 spam musubi on Wednesdays… Sure the spam portion is a little skimpy, but it’s a dollar.

Spam Musubi. It’s something I used to chase down the Manapua trucks for when I was a kid. if you don’t know what I mean, ask someone who is from Hawaii, or spent any time on the islands. Spam Musubi. It’s what I stopped off for, one night when I was waiting for a Unilocal Event to start, down the street. I was walking which is a good thing because parking is pretty tight in this lot. Just like this location. It’s tiny. Reminds me of the small mom & pop joints back home that you really didn’t eat at. You grabbed your food and ate right outside or in your car. Here, at least there are a few tables but don’t even think about bringing a large group. The woman behind the counter was very nice. Otherwise, not much else to comment on as I ordered to go. Sat and waited a few minutes and walked out. As for the food — I liked it. I actually liked it a lot. The Spam must have been freshly cooked or heated because it was still very warm even through the saran wrap. The rice wasn’t old and there sauce to ingredients ratio was just right. The portion size was just right for me too, as I was heading to an event where food was being served. I’ll be back again to see if the rest of their dishes compare to their Musubi. For now, until I get back, I’m a fan of this location.

Do the L’s stand for«lots and lots» of ghhaaarrleeq? Because the ‘mini’ lunch plate of Basa(or ‘swai’ a type of white fish) was practically buried in a shallow grave of it. Hooo-weee, dat sum gnarly garlic chop up on thar feesh. Granted, it’s a massive chain. Some locations might be hit or miss. This one’s at the left-most corner of a strip mall on Arroyo. I’m down wit da Mickey Dee’s of Hawaiian eats. Pu pu it all ya want, snobz, but it’s a fill you up, inexpensive meal. Aside from the Basa, I’ve had BBQ Chicken, Chicken Katsu, Kalua Pork, Loco Moco, Roast Pork(occasional daily special). Kalua’s smoky and good, Moco’s satisfying often hits the spot, chicken’s okay, and roast pork slices were plentiful and tender. The only thing that isn’t worth it: Pork Lau Lau. Spinach tasted bleh– probably from frozen, but the worst part? Half the pork inside was a large chunk of fat; hardly any meat. Some folks eat the fat; I’d rather not. Mac salad has tuna and onion elements but is otherwise bland– typical of mac salad in plate lunches I’ve had on Maui and the Big Island. What to Love&Love at da L & L: 1) healthy and brown rice options 2) multitudinous convenient locations 3) value Decent grindz for ten dollah? Thanx, bruddah.

Pretty disappointed in this location. The food is fairly sloppy and quality is not a priority. The ramen burger is a joke, essentially a bunch of ramen noodles, all falling apart, on both sides if a frozen burger party for $ 5. A half baked copy if how the original is made. The Wednesday spam Musubi for .99 is a nice plus, but they are pretty stingy in the spam and it is mostly rice.
