I came to Dr Drange based on her reviews and was not disappointed. I initially waited almost 2 months for an appointment as a new patient, but due to life happenings, I had to continually reschedule for the next six months. Office staff is VERY on top of their waiting list; I received a phone call almost weekly letting me know of a cancellation, and if I wanted to come in sooner than my appointment.
With a history of thyroid problems unaddressed for 15 years, I was nervous about my appointment. I only waited 5 – 7 minutes total in the lobby and exam room. She listened and put me at ease.
She referred me to an online site where I could purchase my own lab test request, where I went to a local LabCorp and then emailed her my blood test results. This worked fine for me since I’m uninsured and it was the most affordable route. I appreciated that she called me over the phone to discuss my results, rather than having to go back in with another appointment and office visit fee, especially since I was an out-​of-​pocket patient. Everything was very straightforward and smooth.

Had my first appointment yesterday for a checkup since i had thyroid cancer, hashimoto’s disease and hypothyroidism. :) Love her so far, very nice and easy to talk to.

I would rate ZERO if I could. I called to make an appointment. I was referred by my OB/​GYN for a serious issue. They told me Dr couldnt see me til’ end of April. Then I asked who else she could refer me to. I was told– and i quote «she doesnt know anyone else.’ My husbands a Dr. He knows EVERY Dr in his specialty. And, he ALWAYS fits in a patient in need. Office staff is awful. How great can a Dr be if she doesnt even know other Dr’s within her specialty??? NO THANK YOU.

I have been going to Dr. Drange for 2 years now. I enjoy every visit. She takes her time and explains everything. I recommend her

Our visit with Dr. Drange was very reassuring. We wanted a doctor who listened well, cares about helping the patient, takes time to check into the various possible issues, and explains what she knows well. Dr. Drange is all that to us. While the first appointment seemed a couple months away, we were put on a waitlist that actually worked! The office is wonderful with email communications and followups. Thank you Dr. Drange and Violet! We will be back if there’s ever a need. :)

The more I’ve visited Dr. Drange, the more I like her. I would recommend her to anyone. ;) I truly like that she really respects you and listens to you, and has a great amount of knowledge about medicine. I have recommended her to several people, & I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to more.

I was a patient for more than 3 years and at first I thought she was very helpful, but then came to realize that she isn’t very thorough even when I complained about the same problems over and over again. My appointments were very routine and nothing ever improved. She even realized that she failed to test me for a gluten problem when she thought she had. Turns out that after reading a book about people with Hashimoto’s sometimes benefit from going gluten free, I have improved tremendously. I thought she would be happy to hear that I was doing better, but it was almost like she was insulted. I asked her a few questions about some of the information from the book and if she could run any different tests and she immediately became offended and said that «Clearly I am not happy with her level of care». That is correct, I was not happy with her level of care. She was definitely lacking in her ability and apparently feeling a little too high and mighty to explain why the tests suggested in the book wouldn’t work.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am in Dr. Drange. I have seen her for years and she has ALWAYS been compassionate, educated and cared about her profession, In the last 2 appointments I have had with her that has changed drastically. (let me add surprisingly the last two apts I have had no insurance and still knowing this because I trusted he so much I still came to her) The way she has treated me has changed drastically maybe it is because I do not have insurance? mabey she doesnt care about her profession anymore? Or maybe the cold hard truth is she could give a damn about me? I’m not sure all I know is she has changed and it disgusts me. I used to trust her so much that I referred her to everyone. When you have a patient that says that they REALLY do not feel well take time off of work, gives you a list of symptoms and comes in with many abnormal labs it is your responsibility as a Dr. especially as the type of Dr she is to do the following at MINIMUM: Review the labs prior to your patient coming in not scramble to try to review them while in your apt, do some kind of physical examination on your patient (in the past she has always at the very least checked my throat area as I have Hashimoto’s disease and Hypothyroidism) I know this because she diagnosed me herself. Also when you have a patient come in with an updated thyroid ultrasound that they had done without insurance; paid out of pocket for… would you not want to feel for yourself whether or not the ultrasound is accurate to what you feel size wise to the goiter. This is just the bare minimum of what went wrong. She basically told me in my appointment that my symptoms are neurological and I should see a Neurologist or go to County hospital because she doesn’t know what my symptoms are as my thyroid labs came in fine. News flash Dr. Drange I can’t make up the REST abnormal lab results including a high WBC that continues to this day to get worse each time I am tested. Also my throat making a clicking noise is not acid reflux and taking Prilosec is not the answer. You should have at least touched my throat but guess you can’t be bothered these days. I am an educated woman and I think I know when my body is doing something it should not. Seeing as how you have seen me for years when I come into your office looking like I am going to pass out you should actually care. Another newsflash shaking hands aka tremors can be attributed to the fact that my Iron levels were extremely low and I was diagnosed with this. Something you would know had you done your job and thoroughly looked through my labs. An Increasing and yes I say increasing WBC and Increasingly high Platelet count is not caused by simply having Hashimotos and if it was wouldn’t we have always seen these numbers on my routine labs with you. With all of this being said my favorite part is being charged for the appointment. I didn’t know that coming in to your office to have you talk to me and not touch me or do any sort of physical exam whatsoever is what an Endocrinologist did these days. I know for a fact that is never how my apts with you were in the past. So thank you for charging me over 800.00 in labs when I did not have insurance without telling me it would cost that much last year and thank you for charging me for an appointment to come talk to you this year. I didn’t know that you have now decided to become a therapist. I could understand the mishap with the blood work but to be treated poorly by you twice was no coincidence and not only will I make sure that everyone in the medical industry is aware, you will also never have me as a patient again. I highly suggest whatever issues you have with non insurance patients or mabey it’s the fact you just don’t care anymore that you either stop practicing or take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself if the way you treated me is the way you would want your husband and children treated by their doctor. And When I get done dealing with my medical crisis you know the one you said to «wait till I had insurance to resolve or to wait a yr until my thyroid really showed major signs of decline» you can bet that I will be calling your office to tell you how wrong you were. I want my money back and I want to be done with you for good

Dr. Drange is a fantastic doctor! She’s very patient, thorough, knowledgable and sincere. She made sure I was comfortable and that I was educated about my diagnosis. The staff is friendly and although its a little hard to get an appointment due to her popularity… she’s well worth the wait. I’ve been to see her several times and each time I waited no longer than 5 – 10 mins.

I love her. I have NEVER been to a doctor who is more thorough, understanding and compassionate. She did a one hour consultation, and another 15 minutes of talking about how my symptoms affect my life. she’s amazing, she is wonderful. I wish more doctors were like her.

Extremely awesome! Took MONTHS to get an appointment, but when I did come in, she was very nice, very warm and made me feel very comfortable by explaining everything. She offered to take a scan of my throat right there and then, and she explained what was on the scan to me. They took my blood, and she called a week later, to tell me that everything was fine, and I didn’t need to come back in for anything (so saved me money and a trip down there), but that we should check it again a few months from now. Very honest, very nice.
The only downsides were the long wait to get an appointment and the office doesn’t validate in the parking lot they tell you to go to :/

I have been a patient of Dr. Drange for 3 years and originally I thought she was indeed a very good doctor. My opinion has completely changed! I first saw her due to my thyroid problem which she diagnosed as Hashimoto’s. She was open to switch me from Synthroid to Armour, but all along I kept complaining of the same problems-​fatigue, bloating, weight gain, body aches, fogging thinking, memory problems and dizziness. When I discovered a book on Thyroid problems that suggested to eliminate gluten from my diet, I tried it and noticed significant changes in my above complaints. I was excited to tell her of my new experiences and what I received from her was– We already checked you for Celiac disease and the test came back negative. After checking my files, she noticed that I had never been tested for Celiac disease and she then became extremely defensive to any of my questions. She is not a very thorough doctor and on several of occasions has not even taken the time to examine me. She will not utilize common sense and only follows traditional medicine. I really was not expecting her to become so defensive to my questions and I even thought that she might be happy that her patient was feeling better over something as simple as removing gluten.

I’m a new pt with Dr. Drange, and wasn’t sure what to expect, but she totally put me at ease. She was friendly, easy to talk with, and addressed my concerns completely. Dr. Drange really took the time to sit and ask me questions and chat about what I had been experiencing since discovering I had Hashimoto’s. Not once did she make me feel rushed or like she needed to move on to other patients, and I have to admit the fact that she can take your blood there in the office is a bonus — while the folks at Quest are great, I really don’t like having to search for an appointment there all the time.

Marlys Drange is a wonderful doctor, my Endocrinologist. But she is not an ENT.

The thyroid specialist I had been seeing for eons in Beverly Hills was aged and needed to retire. I was referred to Dr. Drange by my registered dietician for hypothyroidism and insulin resistance. I have been seeing Dr. Drange for three plus years. She is BRILLIANT, CARING, UP-​TO-​DATE, THOROUGH, PROMPT, GREAT AT FOLLOW UP (Actually calls you herself to convey lab results) and A GREAT LISTENER. TOTALLY FOCUSED and looks you in the eye! You can’t find a better physician than Marlys Drange ! I would give her 100 stars if I could!

Dr. Drange is one of the best doctors (of any kind) that I have EVER had anywhere. She is so easy to talk to, down to earth, really intuitive, and really takes her time and gives you her FULL attention. I have seen many doctors who have looked at me as if I am lying about the way I feel. Sad, but true. Not Dr. Drange. She works WITH you. She listens and BELIEVES you when you describe an issue/​problem. She is very sharp and knows her field. It is sooooo hard to find a good thyroid doctor. I’ve been seeing her for years for Graves disease (and hypothyroidism after radiation of my thyroid). I have NEVER waited at all in the lobby for more than five minutes (sometimes I don’t wait at all). Johnny and Violet in the office have been there for years and they are really nice as well. I drive all the way to Pasadena from West Hills … gladly!!! :)

Dr. Drange is the first doctor in a long time to figure out what was going on with me. She is sweet, listens, is thorough, and runs on time! Such a wonderful person!

I had an enlarged thyroid and symptoms of hyperactive thyroid but no physician primary or otherwise to help me. I found Dr. Drange on Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier with her as my endocrinologist. I had to wait about a month for my first appointment with her, but wow was she worth the wait.
She spent about an HOUR with me, diagnosed me, ran tests, explained everything about Graves disease (my condition) and answered all my questions. It felt as if I was her only patient for the day– she was completely focused on me and my diagnosis. Dr. Drange is incredibly patient, thorough, kind, detailed, and I trusted her completely within the first 5 minutes of my first appointment.
It’s going to be a long road ahead, treating my thyroid. I’m happy and relieved I have the best doctor with whom to go forward.

I have been working with Dr. Drange for several months now and am very happy I started working with her! She’s friendly, the wait is never long, and she was accurate in the diagnosis– I feel much better after having worked with her for a while now!

I have been seeing Dr. Drange for several years now. She came highly recommended, my other top doctors knew her. I just saw her during the last week and I did not wait at all. She sits down and listens to you and patiently went over my questions about my blood results. She knows how to explain things in practical terms — should i worry about this number and why.
She is also up to date with medicines and possible side effects. She has managed my hypothyroidism very well, which is tricky because I am not an obvious case. She also advised me on my Vit D amounts.
Please look at other sites (medical) for more reviews from her actual patients. Just because that one reviewer could not get a first appt without waiting only means that she is in demand and that she does not double-​book. I plan my appts ahead and have no trouble reaching the office. She is an excellent doctor.
