History

Established in 2003.

Partners Daniel McGee and Catherine Lerer opened their practice in 2003, after having both worked at larger firms.

The founding of their own firm was guided by two principles:

1. Exclusively represent serious injury and wrongful death victims and their families, and

2. Maintain a smaller case load

We are selective in the cases that we take because it is of upmost importance to us to be able to provide personalized service to our clients. We know that to handle a serious injury or wrongful death case right, it takes getting to know our clients, their families, and the injuries and losses they have suffered.

We are different from most firms in that when you call our office, you speak to Dan or Catherine. At most other firms, you usually only speak to secretaries or voicemail.

It is important to us to be available to our clients when they need us. We are thus available after hours and on weekends.

We have four locations: Pasadena, Los Angeles, Santa Monica and Long Beach.

Business Owner

Partner Daniel McGee co-​founded the firm in 2003 with his wife, Catherine Lerer.

Prior to opening McGee, Lerer & Associates, Dan managed one of the top personal injury law firms in California, where he assisted in obtaining a record verdict ($ 25,000,000) against a Sheriff’s Department.

Dan was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1993. He attended USC, followed by Whittier College School of Law.

Partner Catherine Lerer is a veteran in the courtroom, where she has successfully arbitrated, mediated or tried hundreds of cases. Catherine is known and respected by current and retired judges. She prides herself on her aggressive advocacy and demands nothing less than full compensation for her clients.

Catherine was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1993. She attended UCLA, followed by Whittier College School of Law.
