Great chili fries! Hopefully they open soon again! Super cool vintage spot makes you feel like it’s the 50’s again. There should be more Cool spots like this and less fancy garlic aioli places, but no ones listens to me.

Motordogs is moving next door! Look for us at 1271 E. Green St. in about a year. You know the food is good when you work at the place almost daily, and you still want some. That’s Motordogs! Simple and delicious. My favorites are the Chicago dog, chili cheese fries, and the corn dog.

Just stopped by for some great hot dogs. This place is super cool, looks like an old fashioned gas station. Hot dogs are great and service was excellent!

This place is generic to be generous. The dogs are pretty much off the shelf store bought franks, nothing at all special. You can get pretty much the same dog for a buck at the Academy theater. The corn dog was adequate, but appeared to be a Serco mass produced and frozen dog. To be honest, very few places serve a fresh made corn dog, sadly. The food isn’t really bad, it’s just lacking anything worth mentioning. Completely forgettable. If you are in the area and need a quick bite, this would be a good option, but I wouldn’t go out of your way to eat here.

Best place ever! Everything is so clean n very delicious !! The prices are affordable and every penny is worth spending there. The fries are very crunchy on the outside n slow on the inside, perfect. The people that work there are so nice and welcoming!

Great little spot to grab a steamed dog. Been here twice and things are very fresh. Super inexpensive — almost too inexpensive! Would like to see them offer a larger beef dog and a turkey dog option and raise the price. Don’t forget to warm or steam the buns, even first thing in the AM(11:00). Hot dog and a cold bun don’t mix. All in all, five stars!

Second visit today. What a cute hidden gem on a sweet street! Old fashioned gas station vibe from my childhood is great! Food is good, service friendly and menu simple. Try the chili! A few notes for the owner: prices very reasonable, but would be willing to pay more for a plumper dog(Hebrew National maybe?), also consistency is very important. With that being said, my bun was fresh and warm on my first visit, but fresh and COLD on my second visit. Disappointing. Still a fan though :)

I found the Unilocal reviews for Motorsdogs & it looked like exactly the kind of food to get on a Friday lunch. The menu is small, but that’s a good thing because the kitchen is even smaller. It’s tiny, actually. The person who took my order rang me up on a tablet, and then was my chef as well. She informed that the fries would take about 5 minutes, and it was totally worth it because they were great. The chili is also good. It doesn’t have beans, it’s not too thick, and has lots of flavor behind it. But what do you do when your side is more substantial than your main? The Chicago dog is beautifully made & presented, but I enjoyed the chili fries so much more. The seating is all outdoor, with a cute retro gas station theme. Definitely a cute place for kids & leisurely weekend meals.

Pasadena is such a gem, there are so many great places. Every time I visit this place for lunch or dinner it’s like you get Pasadena with a small hint of the past. This shop is nothing big, nothing flashy and maybe that’s why the charm is so unique. When you drive by you just want to stop and experience it. When you realize it’s easy to park and pull right up to the small shop you ask yourself, why not just try it?! The menu is very simple. And if you meet Steve you can ask him to tell you about the place which dates back to a historic building and still owned by his family today. When ordering just go for it and order different hotdogs because frankly they are all good and even more reason, prices are very friendly. In terms of fries or chili fries I will say either one is fine after all it’s about a simple classic meal. Now to the small yet import things you need to know. They have bottled sodas and they have options: fanta all options, squirt, coke, sprite, and some martinellis glass bottles. They take Amex and use square so you are all set no credit card snob limitations. Parking is free, trust me peeps in Pasadena that’s a great thing. All in all its really just a great place to have a simple Dog!

I saw this place awhile back and have been wanting to try it ever since. My wife and I finally got the chance to stop by and have some hot dogs. The customer service was awesome, really friendly and helpful. It has a 50s style and the food was great! I got the chili dog and the Chicago dog and would recommend both! Root beer float was delicious too. Overall great experience!

This place is a cool hidden gem. An old school looking gas station turned into a hot dog stand. The place itself gets 5 stars for the way it looks. The food itself is regular and nothing special. It’s good ol cheap hot dogs and other fried bites. The parking might be tight so park on the street. The service is nice and friendly.

Customer service: A+ Food was delicious & affordable. I was busy editing photos in my car while waiting for my food and the cashier came up and delivered it to me. I wasn’t expecting her to do that but the gesture was greatly appreciated. :) I’ll be back again.

What makes for a great restaurant experience? 1. The quality of the food. 2. The service, and 3. The atmosphere. Motordogs delivers on all 3 counts. First, and most important is the food. It’s easy to tell that this place uses quality ingredients. The buns are fantastic, the dogs delicious and long. The toppings are perfect. The owners obviously did their homework when it came to choosing what to serve here. I have tried the chili-cheese dog, the mustard dog and the corn dog. Every one absolutely great, I’ve had the regular and the chili-cheese fries, both delicious. Not sure if it was mentioned on here, but my feeling is that this is the in-n-out of hot dog stands. Simple menu, done well. No need to complicate things. Dogs and fries. The service is excellent. I have been here several times, and each time the service has been friendly and quick. If you are there when Steve the owner happens to be working, it is even better. He always takes to time to chat with customers when he can(if he’s not too busy) to make sure that every one is satisfied. It’s a joy to see someone who is passionate about customer service. His other staff are just as friendly and helpful. Atmosphere? While not at the top of the list, is always a nice little bonus. This place has it. The look of the stand is great, obviously with the old gas pumps, but there are other little period correct details that add to the experience, like the empty bottle rack, the tire samples displayed near the window, and a bottle opener on the wall. It all adds up to create some great visuals while you are eating those tasty dogs and fries and chugging down some soda. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed. The high rating on here is not unwarranted. I keep coming back to the word quality, with good reason. Quality food, quality service, quality atmosphere. Motordogs is the complete package.

Finally found a hotdog joint that is affordable and delicious close to home! I read about this place a few days ago and we just so happened to be getting our shots at Healthy Travelers. I was so excite to see that this was across the street, so off we of we go to taste test this place. The menu was simple and prices are cheap. The gentleman inside the booth was so friendly. I asked him what was his top two favorites. The answer was The Chicago dog and the chili cheese dog. They also have an 8 ounce Coke bottle, which I thought was adorable! The Chicago dog had the crunchiness that I like, and just a hint of mustard. The chili cheese dog was delicious. For some reason, it tasted like a healthy version of the chili cheese dog. Washed the dogs down with that cute bottle of coke. I will definitely come back to try out the French fries. Plus, the service and the cute spot ups up the ante. There is ample street parking. I am not sure if they do they have their own parking, but I will definitely update you when I find out. I can’t wait to go back and try the other menu times.

An unexpected find! Came across this place while looking for a bite to eat. The place looks like something you’d find on that PBS documentary A Hot Dog Program. Got there around 3pm and from across the street you couldn’t tell if the place was open. But ‘lole and behold, there were people working the hot dog stand. Even saw a mechanic who worked nearby drop by to order something to eat. I loved the Chicago dog. I could’ve eaten at least 2 of those, they were so small. Reminds me of the dogs I’ve had in Chicago. I firmly believe the celery salt is what makes the Chicago dog and thankfully this one has it. Gawd, I want one right now. Also loved the chili cheese fries. They use real shredded cheddar cheese, none of that Cheese Whiz crap that some famous places like Ben’s Chili Bowl in DC uses!( ). I was told it’d take 5 minutes to get them so they fry them up fresh. The fries were crispy and went well with the chili and shredded cheddar cheese. Friendly service, we got free soda refills. They also have small and large bottled sodas. It was a hot day, but it wasn’t too bad eating under the umbrella-ed tables!

The current iteration of this retro gas station is a classic hot dog stand. They make just a handful which are pretty good with snappy beef dogs. We’ve tried the chili cheese dogs, with soft buns and topped with minced onions as well as the Chicago, celery salt and sport pepper included, and the corn dogs and all are tasty. In a world where kings Hawaiian rolls reign supreme, I appreciate no nonsense, quick served classic dogs on a classic bun.

This really is a hot dog stand. The food is simple, delicious, and affordable. What more can you ask for? There is one guy working up a storm in there to get your food out, and he does it right. The Chicago dog is on-point with the tomatoes, celery salt, and peppers. And of course, it comes with mustard only — as it should be.(You can always add ketchup if you truly insist). The corn dogs are perfectly golden with just the right amount of cornmeal crunch. I’m a fan.
