Specialties

The Conservatory provides a comprehensive curriculum of music study. Music instruction is offered for everyone – the novice has a place in our musical community as does the emerging artist, the infant and the senior citizen. We believe in Music for Life. Our lessons and classes are for those who want to learn to make music, expand their knowledge of music and enhance their enjoyment of music.

History

Established in 1983.

Incorporated on New Year’s Eve 1983 by founders Silke Sauppe and Wynne Stone, the Conservatory began its operations in space rented from a small church, with a faculty of eight, led by a volunteer administration. It has since grown to an established institution enrolling over 1300 students annually, taught by an exceptional and highly educated music faculty of over fifty. The school operates from its own campus in central Pasadena and is recognized for the vital role it plays in the cultural and educational communities.

Attended a complementary music lesson for my toddler on Saturday. Was throughly impressed with the quality of teacher, music and instruction for the toddler 2 class. She handled my rambunctious little guy with ease and professionalism of someone who does this for a living. My toddler has taken music and wiggle class through the community center and the lessons here is on a different level. Rhythm and instruments are introduced in a fun and engaging way. Parent involvement is required at this level which helps maintain the quality of the lessons I believe. My little one kept asking for ‘music class again ’ after. Would love to have signed my kid up for lessons, unfortunately the Saturday classes were full. We will have to settle for the wait list for now.

Love this place. At first I wasnt too comfortable in sending my son to this place because I havent heard much about it. I wanted to try this out and see where I would go from there. Well 3 years later and going on 4 I am well pleased to say that I am very happy with the decision. My son has been playing the clarinet and have advanced so well. Not to mention he also has an amazing teacher named Heather. She is my idol… lol. She is very patient and loves teaching. If you have a love for music I reccomend this place. Try it out this school also has trials for you to see for yourself.

My son is learning to play piano and in the short time he has been attending, his growth and improvement has been tremendous. The bar is set high and my son is loving it. The administrative staff is pleasant and helpful — I’m thrilled to have found this fabulous organization!

This is a music conservatory where the high caliber teaching faculty is deadly serious about producing high level musicians.
It is a well run, efficient organization, and as the parent of a child who receives instruction there, I couldn’t be happier with every aspect of the experience. The teaching is inspired, the environment is stimulating, performance opportunities are terrific, and the prices are very reasonable. What more can I say?!
