Description

Specialties

People are looking for answers to their problems so they can get on with their lives. My therapy practice is based on the experience that we carry our solutions within us. I help people make use of what they know already, sometimes by helping them put things they’ve long been familiar with together for the first time. Specific issues I treat include anxiety, bereavement, depression, substance abuse, issues related to the impact of HIV/AIDS in people’s lives. Also, adapting successfully to recent or upcoming changes. These can range from career change to relationship issues to change in health status to rites of passage. Actors, artists and writers are populations I frequently work with. So are those who provide social services, as well as interns meeting their BBS therapy requirements. Support for caregivers is another area of specialty.

History

Established in 1999.

I’ve provided therapy services at LA Shanti, AIDS Project Los Angeles, AIDS Service Center and AIDS Service Foundation, Miracle Mile Community Practice, Portals Community Mental Health and Pacific Clinics as well as in my private practice. I’ve directed dual diagnosis recovery and clubhouse programs, provided training and clinical supervision to new therapists, authored books of retellings of traditional fairy tales to the gay community as well as numerous articles online on bereavement, dream work and spirituality.
