This restaurant is not there anymore — what happened to it? We like the sizzler on Sepulveda(one of the corporate ones) — they’re the one that comes around with just-out-of-the-oven rolls !!!

No shame. Don’t waste your money or time. Feel sorry for the workers who deal with pissed off customers. Why are still in business.? Alhambra was soo much better.

Good service. Salad bar was decent, but it didnt have that many items. Food was what you expect from a Sizzler. Décor could have been updated, but given that it recently closed I don’t blame ownership for not updating. I remember coming here as a kid. I am kind of sad to see it close down after so many years.

After reading other people’s reviews, I wasn’t that thrilled about coming here. I came here with the lowest of expectations. I was pleasantly surprised though after I walked in. It was a lot cleaner than some had written about. Yes, the décor is out dated but other than that, I had no problem with it. It was just like I remembered it from years past. I thought the food was decent. The steak was actually cooked the way i wanted but it was a little tough. The shrimp was extra breaded and salty so I didn’t get seconds. The salad/taco bar had a lot of goodies to choose from so next time I think I’m just going to skip the steak and shrimp and just get the all you can eat salad/taco bar.

Sizzler is A-OK with me. It’s not the best place for steak of course but it is a classic place in my book. I remember Sizzler as one of the first restaurants my parents took me to as a child. Bad news though as Pitfire Pizza Co., bought the building and sadly Pasadena Sizzler is closing by the end of July 2013.

W-in-the-H!!! Tiles fading and falling off the salad bars. The tables looked like they were original… from 1980-something. The seats were old and filthy. My bench at the booth was so old and tired that it was tilted and slanted. Therefore, I spent my entire meal leaning to the right to compensate for the seat sloped to the left. The carpet was fading, old, stained, and smelly. I just walked into a 3-D horror set… Dirty, Dark, and Dingy. The food was just as bad. Like others said, the service was good. However, I could not wait to get the heck out of there because it was literally a nightmare in 3-D. EDIT2013 – 4-21OK, so this could also be an action movie, because I had some major explosions all night into the next day. STAYAWAY from this place unless you like 3-D/Action scenarios. There was something not fresh in that salad bar!

Ok, it is what it is, the same place your parents took you to in 1973, but I’ll tell ya: you really can’t beat the value. The salad bar is always fresh, the taco bar reminds me of my moms’ tacos, and the thirteen dollar steak is better than some costing twice that. Service is better than most Old Town restaurants, with servers that actually seem to care. If you can get over the aging décor and fellow clientele you’ll enjoy the only bargain in Pasadena.

This Sizzler SUCKS! If you thought it was bad in 2012 it still! Under new Management, and did they choose the worst manager. Smile! It wont hurt! Now the young man at the register was great!

When I first walked in and went to place my orders order the woman at the counter was genuinely friendly and welcoming. My mom ordered a glass of wine and there was a little left in the bottle when she poured the glass, she told mom to «take a sip and I’ll pour the rest». NIce touch. This place is not at all dirty or «funky» smelling-in fact, I found it to be quite clean, the restroom included. Since I’m a salad bar kinda guy I’m all for quality ingredients and in this area I have no complaint. In short, everything on the salad bar was fresh and the soups were great! So is the carnitas and the chicken wings are uniquely plump and delicious. Our waiter-I didn’t catch his name-was super friendly and made my mom a side salad that looked like a work of art. She loved it! He brought out extra garlic bread and was generaly attentive and made a wonderful experience for us.

Don’t do it even if Ur highly tempted, DONOT come to this Sizzler. This place is under staffed, there was only one waitress attending the whole restaurant. Once Ur midway in you will notice a funky smell to the place, like it need to be completely sanitized. All the furniture needs to be taken out and donated to the USC Bonfire department. The atmosphere is as happy as a convalescent home and the AC should be about 20 degrees cooler it feels like its completely off. And then if that wasn’t enough the food was just bad not fresh at all. This place is in a prime location, it needs some professional management and to get real chefs and finally update the décor and furniture also new lighting Mr. Owner do this and you’ll business will be booming.

This is by far the worst Sizzler I’ve been to in my lifetime. I have nothing against Sizzler, except the horrible staff at this particular Pasadena location. I came in this afternoon to have a late lunch. When I got to the ordering counter, there was no one there to greet me. I waited patiently there for 5 minutes and still no one there. Finally, I grabbed one of the waitresses and she loudly called a staff member to come out from the back. The receipt says that her name was Roxana. So, she got my order, but she forgot one important thing! The utensils. I realized this after I sat down. However, my waitress was awful too! At Sizzler, the order is already placed in the kitchen, but the waitress was responsbile for getting my salad to me since I suppose that people were not honest about the salad bar. It took her a good 10 minutes after I sat before she got to my table. I was pretty annoyed already. She brought me a salad, but of course no utensils… so since they were so awful in service, I went up to the counter to get it from the other lady at the ordering counter. At least the food was decent, although they have raised all of their prices over the past couple of years, almost double now since 2008. I have to say that the Alhambra location is superior in terms of customer service. Also, the waitress noticed after a long time that my iced tea cup was empty so she asked if I wanted some more iced tea. UH, when she brought me another iced tea, there was a piece of unintentional green garnish in it. To top off the bad service, I get a garnish in my obviously dirty cup? I am done.

2.5STARS: We asked my dad where he wanted to eat for Father’s Day and he replied«Sizzler» so we took him here today for lunch. We arrived at 11:00am to beat the crowd. We all ordered entrees with the salad bar(Add $ 3.99). At this time, the salad bar was completely stocked, clean, and untouched!(OK, GOOD). ENTREES: — — — — — – My dad, husband, mom, and sister all ordered steak. Dad = Medium-Rare(bloody) Husband = Medium Mom & Sister = Medium-Well. When all the steaks came out ALLLL of them were WELL-DONE! What’s the use of asking how you like your steak then if all of them are cooked the same way? My husband liked his shrimp and I thought the sweet potato fries were very good(super hot, crisp and seasoned well). SALADBAR: — — — — — — - Salad items were OK. Clam chowder was on the salty side. The meat for the tacos at the salad bar was also very salty. The meatballs for the spaghetti tasted store bought from a can. The ice cream was really icy(not creamy at all) and pretty bland. Bread pudding wasn’t bad. The only highlight for the salad bar is pretty much the fried chicken wings. Overall, all of us were still pretty full afterward. More people started coming in closer to noon when we were finishing up. I’m glad we came early! Our server was nice. I’d avoid Sizzler going forward, but since my dad wanted to come here, we enjoyed it with him. HAPPYFATHER’S DAY!

Do you sometimes indulge in bad movies or bad TV? That’s what going to Sizzler is like. Of all the places I could have chosen for lunch of my day off, I’m now questioning my own judgment. You see, it’s just that I really wanted a baked potato for lunch… The food here is pretty industrial all the way around. The cream of broccoli soup definitely came from a can, and the piece of Malibu chicken I got was a sad little breaded thing — so different from the picture! But my baked potato was nicely prepared with butter & sour cream just like I had asked. This salad bar may be smaller than other ones, but there are 3 kinds of lettuce(spinach, iceberg & romaine mix) and they were all very fresh. I was paying particular attention to this. No slimy greens, not wilted, and the peas, corn, olives, red onion were also fresh. The salad dressings were even organized and did not have any«spots» where someone dripped dressing A into dressing B. So while there were some good parts of the salad bar and my baked potato came out nicely, the rest of the food is unimpressive. You know how Taco Bell just reheats food?(There’s no actual cooking at Taco Bell locations — it’s all cooked in commercial kitchens.) Sizzler reminds me of that, except you pay a lot more for equally bad food. Not a place to impress a date, or take out-of-town friends!

For some unknown reason(seriously, I don’t know what I was thinking) I decided that I wanted to go to Sizzler. Someone mentioned Sizzler… I saw a commercial… I had a psychotic break… who knows? Anyway, while driving around in Pasadena, checking out my new neighborhood, I found this Sizzler and decided to stop for dinner. First, it was 100 degrees outside and about 150 degrees inside the restaurant. It appeared that the air conditioning was out of order, or just didn’t work properly. The outdated decorative ceiling fans were spinning but there was no air movement. All of the lights in the restaurant were off except for the ones at the cashier and the ones over the salad bar. It was so dark and depressing I thought at any moment I would have to to be put on suicide watch. Second, the salad bar was truly disgusting. All of the items looked unappetizing, unappealing, and inedible. The bowl of lettuce/salad mix was brown and actually slimy. So gross!!! Once I saw that I was out. We went back to the cashier, got a refund, and got the heck out of there. To her credit, the cashier was very apologetic and gave us our money back without any hassle. Ugh! Next time those pesky voices in my head tell me to go to Sizzler I am going to tell them to shut the hell up!
