I just had my tires changed at Stanyer & Edmondson. It was great. I have been going for almost 10 years now. I trust their expertise and experience so much. They were also helpful in providing similar, but more economic tire options than just the brand that came with the car. They were also fast and efficient.

I’d like to counter some of the one star ratings. I’ve been going here for years now and am highly satisfied. Decent work at decent prices, quotes are always spot on, car is done on time and the guys are very honest about what needs to be fixed and what can wait for another day. Just a few days ago I needed my brake pads replaced. I was quoted for pad repair and also for the extra cost should rotors need replacing. I wound up paying $ 10 less than quoted, rotors were still good and just needed resurface which was part of the pad repair price. The quoted price was fair and even below what 2 of the nationwide repair chains told me. 5 stars, thank you.
If you’re going to leave a bad review, give some detail for others to consider don’t just talk in meaningless general terms. And what does a potential repair of 8k have to do with the $ 300 value of the car as is without repairs? Keep it real.

After 7 years of buying tires and having my car repaired here, I will never go back. The service I received was less than I had ever expected — wrong quotes, double talk, higher prices, the list goes on. I will tell you honestly do not use this service. They say a satisfied customer tells several people, a dissatisfied customer tells MANY. Do not go here. Use someone else in Pasadena for your car needs.

If you’re a woman, this is not the place for you. I walked in for a relatively simple alignment job. The older man behind the counter apparently thinks its still 1950, because he talked to me like I was some adorable little housewife who needs things explained to me like I’m a 3-​year-​old.
I admit that I don’t know a ton about cars, but I’m also not a complete half-​wit. I’d done some research, and I had a good idea of what was wrong and what I needed. Needless to say, after his ridiculous and offensive treatment, I took my keys back, walked right out the door, and will never be going back.

I’ve gone to this shop for years and I’ve always had a great experience. They have always been straightforward, on time, and friendly. Today they talked me out of something I was told I needed and saved me a bunch of money. Plus, they took my car for a test drive to check things out and did some other things I didn’t even asked for, like a tire rotation.

Being a girl, and from past experiences, I worry about auto places jerking me around. I have finally found a place that I can trust. This place does honest work for very fair prices. They have even turned me away for services I thought I needed — after checking my car, saying that my car was fine and did not need them. They could easily have charged me but chose not to. I also had a wheel center cap missing on one of my tires because someone had stole it. They noticed it, and offered to order me one from the dealer at cost and slap it on for me at no additional charge. They really care about their customers.
Pedro noticed that my iPhone screen was broken, and even looked up a groupon deal for me! Now nice was that?! :) they go above and beyond for customer service.
Word spread throughout my office and now My whole company goes to then for their services and have nothing but good things to say about them.

These people are completely frodulent. Pedro told me it would cost 8,000 dollars to fix my dead fathers car, took it from me for 300 dollars and now his daughter is driving it.
We went here for 15 years and they betrayed us.

These guys are a RIPOFF! They are dishonest. I called to get a quote on a wheel alignment on a Mercedes. I was told a bogus fabrication that because of my type of car it requires a special alignment in which extra weight has to be added inside my car to balance it. This sounded odd as Sears has performed an alignment on my vehicle before and I had not heard of such a thing. I mentioned that to the mechanic and he was extremely arrogant and had to mention he has been in business over 40 years and Sears is going to rip me off haven’t I seen Sears on the news about faulty quotes? When I told him I would call back as I was price shopping he preceded to be rude and I discontinued the call. I spoke with Rusnak Mercedes and and the service guy says he has never in his history of servicing Mercedes heard of weighing a car down for an alignment. My co worker who is a senior citizen also mentioned that she was told her alternator needed replacing by this same guy and when her husband took her Volkswagen to Sears for inspection it was just the battery cable that was lose. She immediately returned to him and confronted him about attempting to take advantage of a senior. I don’t know if they’re family members are writing these reviews but I promise you these are not honest people. Do Not Spend Your Money Here!

Love these guys. Have been getting my tires here for years. Ask for Don and he will get you squared away. He takes really good care of his customers!

I came to this store on Thursday 12÷12÷13 to change all my tires for my toyota corolla 2000 CE
The deal was:
185/​60R14 FUZION TOURING 4 X $ 52 = $ 208
Rubber valves 4 X $ 4.5 = $ 18
Standard wheel weights 4 X $ 4.5 = $ 18
Wheel balance 4 X $ 13 = $ 52
State tire recycle tax 4 X $ 1.75 = $ 7
Total $ 325, I paid down payment $ 25.
They said I will get 40.000 miles warranty which is comes with every new tires.
On Friday 12÷13÷13 I bring that car to be installed all the new tires.
On Saturday 12÷14÷13 I picked up that car by calling them first and ask’ed them clearly ‘is my car ready?’ They said it was ready to be pick up.
At that day I had appointment in Beverly Hills at 11.00 am. At the store they asked me to pay the rest which was $ 300 and sign the invoice, actually they put note at the invoice that:
recommend front alignment vehicle has to much positive camber on front wheels. Tires warranty is void unless correction is made.
They didn’t mention that note he just asked me to sign it and follow him. After I signed the invoice and he asked me to follow him to my car. At the car he showed me that the front wheels was to go outside and needed to be aligned.
I told him, I need to go because I had an appointment at 11 am in Beverly Hills but I mentioned why you didn’t tell me before you install the new tires?
Today on Monday 12÷16÷13 I came back to complain why the work procedure was not professional. Don’t install the new tires when they knew there was something that will effect the DEAL. or at least call me to mention there is something that will effect their warranty as they promised?
Their unprofessional procedure to this case:
You sign the invoice~and later on I will tell you that we will be FREE from promised we made at the first deal!
From this experiences at my side I saw they are unprofesional company who just put customer position to take the COST for their unprofesional job.
My recommendation: DON’T GO THERE or YOU WILL GET VERY BAD EXPERIENCES AS I did meanwhile they wash their hands of their responsibility of for what they promised at the first hand.

Extremely knowledgeable and informative. These guys do what is NEEDED and want to help you take care of your car. You know you’re not getting ripped off here. Will go here every time!

Honest and dependable. The work they do is excellent. and I respect their advice. Rare indeed these days. They are so much better than dealers for general services like brakes and tires.

We have been bringing our cars to Stanyer & Edmondson for at least 25 years – in fact, two generations of our family now bring their cars here.
Don, Jack and Pedro are just outstanding examples of good customer service. They communicate well, try hard, and are totally honest and ethical. The whole team is excellent.
In addition to everything related to tires, wheels, and brakes, they do most general repairs. I even get my oil changes here.
When a set of tires wore out too fast, Don went to bat for me with the manufacturer and got a settlement. There are very, very few shops left with this kind of professionalism and friendliness.

NOTE: I don’t write loads of reviews like some, and when I do, I only write when I deem necessary. And this is one of those times…
I had a nail on my front right run-​flat tire about 1-​inch from the sidewall. 3 tires shops I went to — including the corrupt dealer who seldom looks after your best interest more than their economic bottom line — said immediately to replace the damn tire which was only 4 months old and still spanking new.
Likewise with those guys over at Firestone/​Bridgestone; they too said the same thing and it’s no surprise given their tire-​associates make a living off from selling you the most expensive tires. And when they see this dude with his BMW pulling in with run-​flat tires — all they can see is $$$$ dollar signs $$$$ instead of the damn nail that can easily be repaired.
Thus, having gotten 3 different tire shops to look at my run-​flat — BMW dealer, Firestone, and Bridgestone — I was still not convinced that I need a new tire despite what the «authorities» were telling me. The tire looked fine (no sidewall damage on the run-​flat as I know that’s the main issue with run-​flat tires) and didn’t lose any air despite having a small nail on the thread.
So I finally took it over to Stanyer & Edmondson as my final push since I conveniently work next to the place and the guy didn’t even bother selling me a new tire. He said to give me the keys so they can look inside the tire on if there is any damage. If there is no damage, they will simply patch it up for about $ 20-​$ 30 and that will be the end. Otherwise, if there is damage to the sidewall, then obviously I’ve have to invest $ 350 in a brand new run-​flat tire.
The nice fellas at Stanyer looked at the inside of the tire and it showed NO DAMAGE. They only charged me $ 30 and they did a heck of a job patching/​plugging it from the inside. Tire pressure all normal and ride feels perfect. I don’t understand what the big fuss is about run-​flat tires not being able to be fixed when some of they actually can.
The guys here at Stanyer & Edmondson are very honest — and I can tell you this firsthand as a customer who has now dealt with 4 tire shops. These guys are definitely legit and I know where my business will go for tires from now on. So take note other tire shops — this is how you conduct business…
That’s why crooks over at BMW dealerships nationwide alongside crooks over at any Firestone/​Bridgestone center ought to learn how to do business the right way. First you check a tire correctly, then u advise customer to purchase a new tire. Don’t just think run-​flat tire = you need a new one. Not to mention those guys over at Firestone are nothing but punk little 20-​something kids with little knowledge and think more about selling you something than servicing you correctly. Morons, I tell you…

Fast and honest mechanics, thank gawd! Came in to fix my front brakes because of the loud grinding noise. I also knew that I was due for a tire change, and they also told me that I do need to change it, especially since I’m driving to work everyday… and so got my two front tires changed, and that was it… no other gimmicks and bullshit needed to be fixed…
I was in and out of there within an hour… and they had estimated that I would have been there for two hours, whew, they were fast, yay!
The waiting room was kind of bland, but it was private and spacious. Though, no coffee or vending drinks available. They have an original Coke Machine, but it doesn’t work, urgh!
Overall, very happy that they were able to fix what I needed, and definitely will come back to this place when I need another fixer upper :)

I’m still a fan — as before — because the owners are always helpful, there’s a decent place to sit (bring a book, the magazines are pretty worn out!), and the quality of the work is generally very good. But a couple of caveats this time:
1. If prices are your only concern, prices are not always the cheapest here. I’ve ordered sets of four tires a few times from Tire Rack and had them installed on a couple of my cars for less elsewhere since the total price was just too high here.
2. I use these guys for many tire related jobs such as replacing a single tire (or two) when I need it done quickly. They generally do good work and the single tire price is not too far from other sellers’ prices.
3. They mounted a set of tires on some new wheels for me, but the nice young kid who did it got one of the tires mounted wrong. It leaked slowly and the next day I was left stranded. They remounted the tire (no charge) and were apologetic. It could happen to anybody, I guess, and it’s the only error out of a couple of dozen visits so that’s a pretty impressive record. I will still use these guys but will check prices carefully, too.

My mechanic sent my car over there to get my steering aligned, it needed the steering aligned desperately…
When I got my car back, it felt like I was driving a brand new car. They did good work, and pretty fast too :]

a not-​so-​great beginning to the day, i was turning into a driveway this morning and to avoid hitting an apparently oblivious woman in a GIANT SUV blocking the path of travel, ended up running over (yes really, over) a narrow parking island. i drive a smallish/​average car, so this was not exactly a healthy exercise for it.
standing in the parking lot with a very flat tire, i rang AAA who came and did their thing (i wish i remember the name of their local servicer too because that guy was great). i checked Unilocal and google maps and rang a few nearby shops, who apparently don’t really want your business as they seemed very annoyed i rang them (it was after 8, c’mon!). i sent a text to a friend who knows everything there is to know about pasadena and she enthusiastically referred me here. between her always-​excellent advice and the other two favorable Unilocal reviews, it was a sure thing.
and, these guys are GREAT. low-​tech, for sure, but not afraid of hybrids, and, best part, especially considering the situation, did not do the ‘well, little lady…’ drill i would have expected, standing there in heels and a dress as i had been on my way to work. they didn’t try to upsell anything — parts, brakes, an oil change, fancy tires, warranties, nothing, they just very adequately explained the state of the old tire, put on the new one, performed an alignment as discussed, and i was on my way within an hour.
pedro and his crew at stanyer and edmonson are _​definitely_​the go-​to if you ever happen to drive over a small parking island (i do not recommend it) somewhere along fair oaks.
(they are a little inconspicuous if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for; also, the customer entry is just before the garage, not streetside.)

So I grew up in the Pasadena area, the child of parents who happened to own a company with a fleet of vehicles which were all serviced and shoed (or tired as it may be) by Stanyer and Edmondson.
The guys are all great and they always take care of me, from my very first car. I live in San Diego now and I still make the trek to get new tires, to rotate, realign, heck even to do repairs because they know what they are doing and for this «car-​tarded» girl I know I don’t have to worry about getting ripped off.
I think being able to trust someone is worth its weight in gold, if you’re honest with me on the little things, I will likely come to you for the big things because I know you’ll take care of me.
Stanyer and Edmondson definitely treats their customers right.
