Lets just say my apartment is so clean that its motivated me to get my walls painted to keep up with the shine of everything else. I’ve had Ashleigh and the great team cleaning my home for the last 3 or so years. I’m not always in town — often away on business — so my cleaning schedule is somewhat intermittent. That being said, however, Ashleigh has always bent over backwards to squeeze in an appointment time for me, even when I’ve reached out at the last minute. Not only is she one of the nicest people you’ll ever come across, she’s a pleasure to work with. The staff of the Real Housekeepers of LA are all a pleasure as well.
Tip: If you want a super thorough cleaning, asking for Heidy! She recently cleaned my flat, and I swear, there was not a single «stone» unturned! The place was sparkling!

This review is long overdue. We have been working with Ashleigh and the RHKLA for over 2 years now. If you are looking for a reliable, flexible, friendly, and professional house cleaning company, they are the choice for you.
We have them come every 2 weeks, and my husband and I cannot express how good a job they have done. In terms of customer service, I have always dealt with Ashleigh and she has been so kind and flexible with our busy and ever-​changing schedules. When we need to change an appointment, she accommodates us no questions asked.
In terms of the actual house cleaning, the team is thorough and precise. It is literally the highlight of my week walking into our home after the RHKLA have been in for a cleaning.
They are very reasonably priced, but what makes them stand out as a company and puts them ahead of other home cleaning services is their customer service.

A year and a half ago my wife and I realized we needed to stop trying to do it all ourselves. With three people in our home, plus a cat, and everyone working full time, it was time to give ourselves a break.
I researched several housekeeper services online and picked The Real Housekeepers of LA because of their reviews and a promotional discount they had for the first visit. I have never regretted my decision since.
We have them come out to do basic cleaning twice a month and have had them do deep cleanings twice a year. They are punctual, hardworking, and leave everything immaculate. I particularly love how our kitchen appliances look after the detail work they complete each visit!
Ashleigh is great to work with in setting up appointments and following up. She also is a housekeeper, so she is sometimes hard to reach immediately by phone, but she does return calls and communicates well by text.
My wife and I highly recommend them.

I had the pleasure of having Ashleigh herself clean my house today. I have two dogs and a busy schedule, and don’t get to the big cleaning chores – bathroom, kitchen floor, dutiful dusting – often enough. I have had housecleaners come periodically, but my house never looked as thoroughly clean as it did today. Like others have said, I told Ashleigh what I wanted her to focus on and how much time I wanted her to spend. She did a fantastic job on those specific areas. I would like to get onto a regular schedule so that she and her folks will be able to get to every single nook and cranny. Again, Ashleigh was easy to reach, really flexible in scheduling, very accommodating about how to pay, great with my dogs, and cleaned my house beautiful. i can’t wait til the next time!

What’s on the list after moving? Yup, cleaning! Feeling completely exhausted after the move, I decided to find a house cleaning service. After researching for an hour I ended up giving this place a try. Ashleigh explained the service and the pricing. I requested for an 8AM cleaning because I had a meeting to attend. The cleaning was arranged and she told me the name of the person who was coming to clean the apartment.
:Experience:
Monday morning around 7:20AM my phone rang and it was Ashleigh. She informed me that the lady who was initially scheduled for 8AM would now be late and arrive by 9AM. At that moment, I had mixed feelings, I was happy she called to inform me but at the same time disappointed the person is running late. The person arrived a little after 9AM, no biggie a few minutes late. I greeted the person by the name Ashleigh gave me but the lady introdcuced herself as someone else and said the original person who was suppose to come wasn’t able to make it after all. A few hours passed and the cleaning was not quite done yet. I had to leave for my meeting so I asked Ashleigh if it was ok to leave her team member at the apartment. Ashleigh said it was fine, before I left, I gave her team member a check. Around 8:30pm I came back to check on the apartment. As I approached the door I heard the air conditioner on! I did not turn on the air conditioner and when I left it was off. No one else went to the apartment so I was left to assume that her team member turned it on and forgot to turn it off. Also, the thermostat threshold was lowered to 66 degrees, a full four degrees below the lowest setting that I would set it to.
~Note: I brought it up to Ashleigh and her response was that her team member stated she did not turn it on but may have accidentally turned it on when she was wiping it down.
Then I checked the bathroom and found the toilet clogged and filled with tissue. I discussed this with Ashleigh as well. She offered to pay for the electric bill but instead I asked if she could have someone come back to unclog the toilet and to clean the apartment more. Ashleigh said someone could come at 1:30pm. Another team member came to clean the apartment and mentioned that Ashleigh will come by to bring the plunger. Minutes passed and Ashleigh showed up and she unclogged the toilet. Both of the ladies continued cleaning for about an hour and 40 minutes (estimate).
:Cleaning:
After the walk through with the apartment owner, she pointed out several things, grout on the kitchen counter, the floor was sticky and stained, under the stove was a lot of grease, and the blinds were not cleaned. The walls, windows, and the top of the door was not wiped. I saw dust and cob webs at some corners of the room too. The apartment owner said the bathroom was cleaned well.
I texted Ashleigh and asked if I could get a discount but she said after the cleaning I expressed to her that I was satisfied and that she already gave me two hours of extra cleaning. She offered to give me $ 20 discount since I was not happy but she already cashed my check so I didn’t want to deal with it. I didn’t do a good job on checking thoroughly if everything was clean. In the end, I just chose to take this as a loss and a lesson learned.

I appreciate how she made some attempt to make up for what happened. Also, before she left, I realized the oven was not cleaned so I asked if they could spray the oven with the cleaning product she had. Instead of just spraying it, she gave me the cleaning product.

Why 2 Stars? When I left the apartment the air conditioner was off and I didn’t have it on during the cleaning. Going home to find the air conditioner on was very disappointing. I was also not happy when I discovered the toilet clogged. Also when the second team member came to clean the apartment again, she asked to use my vacuum because her vacuum was in the car. The cleaning was not horrible but it wasn’t spotless either. They guarantee beyond satisfactory service unfortunately, I was not satisfied.

Need to be absolutely specific about what and how you want things cleaned.

I have been using this cleaning service for about 6 months. All of the staff has been helpful & reliable. Ashleigh does a wonderful job coordinating & every cleaning has been really good. I greatly appreciate this service & want to recommend it.

This is a review based on the customer service as opposed to the cleaning itself. Read good reviews about this company and decided to book them for a deep clean when my husband and I were moving out of our apartment. We had been in the same place for nearly 5 years and the place needed a good clean to try to return it to our landlord in decent condition.
Spoke with Ashley and she was very nice and accommodating. She gave me two appointment options and I chose the first, which was a Tuesday at 1.
Come that Tuesday, something came up at work and I wasn’t sure I could leave with enough time to let the crew in. I called at around 10 am to try to provide instructions to access the apartment without me being there. (The apartment was pretty much empty so I wasn’t concerned with security of our belongings.). No answer, so I left a message. I tried again closer to 1, and still no answer. I managed to get away from work to let them in as I anticipated they’d be showing up since no one called me back. By 1:30 still no one had shown up for the cleaning and no one had called me back. I called AGAIN, and no answer.
At that point, I had to get back to work. I thought maybe because it was veterans day they accidentally booked my cleaning on a day they had off. Nonetheless, I was originally willing to give them another chance if they were to call and try to rectify the situation. Too bad I never received a call back to any of my messages. We had to go with another cleaning crew instead.

Based on great reviews I contacted this company for a move out cleaning about 2 months ago.
When I spoke to Ashleigh she sounded extremely nice and keen to earn my business. I honestly told her that I was looking around for a company who would be able to offer me a good price for the move out cleaning and Ashleigh said that she would be willing to price match whatever lowest price I could find. Although I was pretty much sold at that point, I still did my due diligence and was able to find another company that served the same area who was able to offer me a rate that was $ 10 cheaper per hour.
About a week or so earlier before we were set to move, I contacted Ashleigh again to make an appointment. I made sure that she remembered our earlier conversation and I told her about the lower price that I found. However, Ashleigh said she could not go that low after all. I wasn’t too happy about this, but after talking a bit more about it with her, Ashleigh said that she would only charge me for 4(? can’t remember exactly now) hours even if we had to go over because I needed the windows cleaned as well.
(One of the other reasons why I decided not to mind the fact that the promise relating to the price match wasn’t kept was because I found out from Ashleigh that she also serviced the area we were moving to, so I told her that I wanted her come to do a move in cleaning in our new home with the possibility of doing a monthly cleaning in the near future. I thought that was a pretty win-​win situation for the both of us and I was especially glad that I wouldn’t have to look for new cleaners after we moved!)
When setting the time with her, I told her that I was thinking of 12pm because I had organized for our handyman to come over and touch up/​fix some things in our house — we had lived in this rental for 7 years and our landlord was going to come to the house to do a move out walkthrough with us 2 days after the handyman and cleaners came so I really wanted the house to look great so we could get our $ 3k plus security deposit back! I asked Ashleigh if it would be okay if the handyman was still around when they came to clean the house and we talked about how to work around this logistical problem before settling on 12pm.
On the day all the scheduled cleaning was supposed to happen our handyman showed up at around 9am as scheduled and I told him about the cleaning and he assured me that he would be done around 12pm so there would be no problems. He was done shortly before 12pm and he left while we stayed for the cleaners to come. When they didn’t show up by 12:15 I started getting a bit worried but thought maybe they were running late. At 1:15 I telephoned Ashleigh and left a message on her voicemail asking whether there was some confusion about the date or whether something else came up and whether or not we could urgently reschedule if there was some kind of miscommunication. To my utter surprise and disappointment I received NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER. Wow.
If our landlord wasn’t as nice, I think I would have lost at least a good chunk of our security deposit (especially because the movers actually made the place super dirty after they were done — we never wore shoes on the carpet but after the movers were done, the beige carpet had turned pretty much black). Fortunately, when I explained what happened to our cleaners our landlord said: that’s okay, I’ll just take off whatever was the lowest price of the list of prices you got for cleaning from your security deposit. Phew. So lucky!
So, bottom line regarding RHofLA: I cannot recommend them and would have given zero stars if I could. I wrote this review to warn others about what happened to me and I hope that a situation like this doesn’t happen to anyone else!

When I had to vacate my 3500 square foot rental property, in addition to window washing and carpet cleaning, the home required a deep clean. The Real Housekeepers of LA (TRHOLA) received a strong endorsement from the Estate Sale company I used. Knowing how discriminating they are and after factoring in price, response time, follow up, expertise, success in delivering the service and reliability I decided to go with The Real Housekeepers of LA. This was an important decision because the return of an $ 8000 security deposit hung in the balance. I was not disappointed.
Price
In terms of price, the quote I received from TRHOLA was competitive, not the cheapest and not the most expensive. The owner, Ashleigh, was very thorough in identifying exactly what I needed done, which included eradicating troublesome water stains on the four glass shower doors. I appreciated her honesty regarding this aspect of the job in advising me that her team would do their best, but complete eradication could not be guaranteed.
Response Time and Follow Up
Ashleigh was prompt in returning my initial call and all those subsequent. I didn’t make things easy by modifying the date and time of the job several times. On each occasion, she was courteous and flexible, seeming to appreciate what I was going through which felt good during a very stressful period. Her associates arrived and finished on time bringing all their own materials.
Expertise
I was impressed by the description of their process and use of non-​toxic products Ashleigh outlined for me and which are also available on their complete website.
Success in Delivering Service
While appropriate to manage my expectations, every trace of water stains from the shower doors were gone. For anyone that’s taken on this job, its no small task – and with non-​toxic products no less! The house itself – carpets, tile flooring, each and every drawer interior – was spotless.
Reliability
As additional insurance, Ashleigh offered to come over following the job and inspect the premises which I found extremely professional and value added. I ultimately took her up on this which gave me much needed peace of mind. While I can’t say my using TRHOLA was the sole reason for the complete return of my security deposit, they played a very significant role.
As a result of the superior efforts and stunning results delivered by TRHOLA, my landlady, a broker with a major realty company, following the final walk-​through, wanted the name of the company that cleaned the house because she intended to utilize them in the future and refer them to her own clients.
I recommend without hesitation this fine company for all your house cleaning needs.

I find it strangely unethical to alter my ‘rating’, as it applies to the experience described in the review, not to recent events. Nonetheless, Ashleigh has contacted me — privately, so not trolling for Unilocal kudos — and let me know that she let Claudia go after my review and, further, now inspects the properties after they are cleaned. Part of the reason I didn’t inspect the cleaner’s work, and why I was so disappointed, was that she showed up about an hour into the cleaning just to check in and bring some additional cleaning supplies.
My rating was (and is) determined by the quality of the cleaning my house received — but she’s clearly committed to running a good business. Frankly, if I still lived in Pasadena, I’d try them again.

I hadn’t had my home professionally cleaned in several months, and this team did a great job. They were very accommodating given my hectic schedule, they used all of their own products and equipment, and were very thorough in their work. They even cleaned my blow dryer, which I thought was indicative of their attention to detail.
My place is around 1200 square feet and they were able to do a fantastic job in under 3 hours. I had initially been set up to pay for a full 3 hours, but they finished all of their work in under 3 hours, so they slashed off some of the cost without me asking.
They are fully licensed and insured, accept credit card and are overall very professional. I will definitely be using them again soon!

Such great service! I don’t review a lot but it’s so nice to come home to a clean house every week after your maids leave. After all of these years you are still the best company I have ever used. It’s settled, I’m never learning how to clean! Thank you!

All i can say is thank you so much to Ashleigh and her wonderful team. In my grandmothers old age, her home had become extremely dust-​ridden and just overall messy. After we spent an exhausting 2 weeks sorting through her things and organizing, we realized we needed to hire professional help to come in and do a final deep cleaning.
Ashleigh is a delight. As some of the other reviews have stated, she is very prompt in response. She called me back the same day and we scheduled an appointment. I felt that her prices were very fair considering how great the results were. I don’t think I ever remember her house looking so good. I also liked that RHKOLA uses non toxic cleaning products, as my grandmother is very sensitive to chemical smells.
I would DEFINITELY use RHKOLA again. Professional, fast, and so worth it.

I am so disappointed to be giving such a low-​star rating to this review. Let me explain…
We scheduled a cleaning and were accommodated on a holiday weekend. I was impressed. The price was fair, and the housekeeper showed up on time. And the cleaning itself? Fantastic. Most importantly, my husband (who is the really picky one about cleaning) was impressed and didn’t spend the rest of the day complaining about the things the person missed, which is what usually happens. I was so happy and relieved to think that we found our new cleaning service. I sent Ashleigh a grateful email and she responded promptly.
So where did things go wrong? I emailed her again, requesting an appointment for our next cleaning. No response. I gave it about a week and then figured that maybe email just isn’t the best way to schedule. So I called and left a message. No response. A week later, I left another message. No response. I’m baffled about the fact that I’m trying to give them our regular business and I’m not getting a response! So sadly, my hunt for a new, regular cleaning service will continue.

I walked into my home after RHLA came for the first time and I was THRILLED with the way the place looked and smelled… CLEAN! It’s really a great feeling to walk into a clean, cleared home!
I’ve tried big companies like Molly Maids and did not like the service… it felt impersonal. Whereas, RHLA are very professional but also add a personal and homey touch… which is what I want for my home!
I had my family over after the cleaning service and I was complimented on how nice the house looked. Thank you, RHLA, for making me look like a diligent and detail-​oriented homemaker!

I decided to give the real housekeepers of LA a call after reading the positive Unilocal reviews here. I am a little disappointed to report that the result did not live up to the reviews posted here.
Appointment: Ashley was prompt in returning my call and scheduling a cleaning service for the upcoming weekend. She quoted me the price and we agreed on the time. However, on the day of the cleaning, the cleaning lady was late by 45 minutes and I did not get a call until 40 minutes into the scheduled time. =2 stars
Service: I asked for cleaning of the entire house including the inside of the cabinets and the interior of the fridge and oven… which was specifically paid for in addition to the basic charge. After the cleaning staff was gone, I noticed that the inside of the fridge was hardly wiped. The exterior of the stove had noticeable oil stains that hadn’t been cleaned to the standard you would hope for it to be done professionally. While the interior of the cabinets were wiped, the side of the cabinets facing my living/​dining area had noticeable dust. I also had a brand new stainless steel sink installed in my kitchen that had a few noticeable scratches after the cleaning service was done.
All in all I wasn’t too impressed with the result. I am not sure if I want to give them a try again because they are nearby, and uses green products per their ad. I suppose if I do I would need to take a close look at the house after it’s done instead of assuming it would be done completely.
