We’ve been in to browse before while in the area and when I finally needed a few bottles, I remembered them and went in to make a purchase! I’m taking off a star because I like to be acknowledged when I walk into a store that is quite and the only people in there at the time is us and the person at the register but he did finally come around and ended up helping us selecting a few bottles. Overall, great selection and rage of prices(no two buck chucks) and they were open on Sunday!

Great wine shop with a bar area for wine tasting and drinking. I went for an oyster and champagne/sparkling wine tasting. The oysters were great! There were several different kinds with different condiments. I loved the Canadian oysters. They had some cheeses to purchase and free popcorn. I bought a couple of bottle of wines for my wine group and the guy at the cashier was very knowledgeable about the wines and helped me narrow down my choices. Looking forward to going back for a wine flight.

This place is AWESOME! If you are in the Pasadena hood looking for something to do then this is a fun place with character. They have wine tastings on Wednesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays from 5pm-8pm! Their international wines are a steal because their prices are economical and the flavor is better than anything you can get at a grocery store. The new owners, Daniel & Norma, are great people and Allen who is a sommelier there make Vinotera a very special jaunt!

Best experience ever in purchase wine and spirits! The gentleman Allan and owner were extremely helpful and answered any questions I had. They even stayed open a little later so that I could purchase some wine for a party the same evening. That’s GREATSERVICE right there! Thank you Vinotera!

You can’t find nicer people than that of Vinotera. The proprietors of the shop are top notch and as generous as they come. Ample pours, great tastings throughout the week, and specials all the time. Daniel really likes to try new wines and beers and has a WIDE selection that he’s constantly building. He’s always on the hunt for new items, hard-to-get beers and wines, and isn’t afraid to taste something for the first time with his customers and give his honest opinion on it. Come on the right days and pours are just $ 1! You find somewhere else that can beat that, I dare ya! Give it a try and you won’t be disappointed. Park in the rear lot from the Green Street access for free parking while you’re there, but know that spots are limited.

I can’t say enough good things of this place. I recently stopped by with my sisters to buy a bottle of wine but stayed for the tasting and let me tell you it was the best thing we could have done on this Friday night! The people there were great and gave us amazing customer service and the wines that were being poured were fantastic!!! There were different wines and price ranges, which I LOVED! The bottles that were for tasting were between 20 to 60 dollars and there is a 15% discount on those specific tasting wines for that night and I have to say that my sister and I bought 3 for such a great deal and quality of wines. They also have a 6pm pour and off of what the owner was telling me they are usually an older expensive wine. They also had a lot of craft beer which my husband is super excited about and he is even more excited because this place also has beer tastings on Wed. This is for sure our next hang out spot especially since it’s walking distance from us. Loving the wines, people and customer service.

Updating my earlier rating based on a few months experience. The new owners have poured their heart and soul into this place. The tastings are now a bit more expensive(but no worse than Monopole or Everson Royce) and the value is outstanding. They are bringing in more and more unusual and hard-to-find wines with great value in all price ranges. Friday night tastings often feature a truly outstanding and otherwise unaffordable wine…(like a recent $ 400 per bottle if-you-could-find-it French family cellared fortified wine) that will truly knock your socks off. Was afraid when the ownership changed that this place would lose its charm. If anything, it is better than ever…

I love Vinotera. It still says«Vendome» outside. The owners are great and super-friendly and helpful. I went to a Friday night wine tasting and got very generous pours. There are also Saturday tastings. I have also taken the owners’ recommendations on wine and all have been spot-on. While Pasadena is fortunate to have some very good wine departments in multiple grocery stores, I love to patronize stand-alone wine shops because the owners are always passionate about wine, and enjoy taking to their customers, I have tried many shops in Pasadena and South Pasadena, have told the owners what I like, and then bought their recommended wine. When one wine shop I love, with wonderful owners, kept recommending unsatisfying bottles of wine(which weren’t cheap) I thought I would look elsewhere. I decided to try Vendome for the first time, only to discover that it had been purchased me and turned into Vinotera. The owners were very patient and friendly, and made several recommendations of wine I had never heard of that were all fantastic. If you are looking for Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc or The Prisoner(both drinkable wines) then you can get them anywhere. If you want to be surprised with wine you’ve never heard of, and pleasantly so, go to Vinotera. Also, there is great wine in every price range… under $ 10, under $ 20, and up. Of course, Vinotera also stocks wine that you’ve heard of… but part of the fun of going to a wine shop is for the hunt of something you’ve never had before. Vinotera also stocks beer, spirits, cigars, and Gatorade! Also, if you’re headed to one of the many restaurants on Lake Avenue, and they let you bring a bottle, head to Vinotera. I went to The Counter the other night($ 10 corkage), picked up a bottle at Vinotera, and enjoyed it with my dinner. There is parking in the back, facing Shoppers Lane, in case you can’t find anything on Lake.

Super friendly staff. Great wine tastings with generous pours of higher than usual quality wines. A more comfortable venue than other wine stores in the area. Also, a great craft beer selection. Try a cheese plate, they’re good and cheap.
