Andy’s Coffee Break

Went to go check out this place since I had heard it was awesome well not to awesome me and my husband and 2 kids went on my day off well there was rude older people there not kid friendly at all my 2 yr old is a special kid and the only way he communicates is by screaming since he doesn’t talk everyone there including the staff were starring making it very uncomfortable I will not ever go back again food was okay nothing I haven’t had before.

Another business trip to Pasco, and so I decided to return to Andy’s to see if my ‘ordering sense’ could be improved this time. I received a very nice message from the business after the last trip, which helped me decide I should come back.
They still only had one waitress on staff, the same one as the last time; as it was St. Patrick’s Day on this visit, I’m guessing this is the permanent arrangement since you’d imagine they might have expected to be busy. This, of course, meant things like drink refills were nonexistent.
Soup was beef and barley, it was good; I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and added a side of onion rings. They didn’t have any of the rice side dish (I remember this happened last time also, so this may also be a permanent arrangement), so I got a baked potato. Onion rings came out first; they were pretty good, with a delicate batter and nice bite. I might have expected more of them for $ 5, but they probably saved me from myself by keeping the portion small.
Unfortunately, I’m pretty certain the chicken fried steak was a previously-​frozen manufactured one; I understand about the clam strips and such last time, but I was hoping it wasn’t that hard for a diner to dredge a cube steak in flour and breadcrumbs and fry it. Potato was good, the carrots were a little under for my taste although I get that «al-​dente» veggies are a ‘thing’ these days, and the brown-​and-​serve hot roll was all right.
After this visit, I’m not all that convinced that any of the food is house-​made, shy of fried eggs; I asked the waitress about the onion rings, since I thought they might be, and were told they were not house-​made. The people do seem very down-​home and friendly, which makes me really want to like this place, but a perpetually short staff serving pre-​made convenience food is just not the dining experience I was hoping for.

You’re better off going to KFC for better quality and quantity of food. Their lunch special is a joke. You’re ordering the soup and sandwich: soup comes in at least a 2 inch by 2 inch bowl and the sandwich is sub-​par. Not even worth 7.99 plus tax. I didn’t like my service. I was left alone for quite a while. My waiter gave an attitude when I went to pay. I gave a tip anyway, which left me at $ 9.83 for the lunch special. It was like paying 3 dollars each for such a small portion. The ambiance can be upgraded. I won’t be coming back here.

I don’t know if I could’ve asked for more at a small diner. Nothing special or unique on the menu, the staff was friendly, the décor was worn down and maybe even a little dirty and there wasn’t a huge wait for our food. That being said, I ordered the chicken fried steak which wasn’t too big but also not too small. The meat to breading ratio was probably perfect and it was crispy (as i enjoy in my cfs).The gravy tasted like it was packaged, so if you’re looking for great gravy, I would pass. I asked for over medium eggs and they were more toward over easy (which I like as well but not what I asked for…) I got a biscuit on the said which was good and looked homemade, but didn’t look like they would be great for biscuits and gravy. Overall, about what a expected. There’s not a lot of great breakfast options in the tri cities so I would give it a try.

The sign on wall says not a fast food restaurant but a fresh food restaurant. The only cream for the coffee was packaged non dairy. I asked if they had any fresh creamer and she went to check. To her credit she brought me a small cup of ½ and ½. The service was excellent and fast. The food was decent, not great but good portions.

I went here with my honey for a breakfast run and had to say it was amazing. The service was excellent and our waiter was very kind, and honest. We came back that same week and I had left my phone there by accident, but he came out before we could get in the car to return my phone. Very impressed with their service and staff. And the food was yummy and very filling!

Wanted to try a smaller diner type place for breakfast (rather than a chain). While the service was great, the food was just so-​so… and the establishment was FILTHY. Even the walls were dirty.

I guess I entered through the wrong door but when I found my way to the correct spot, I was greeted by a lot of the staff in a very friendly manner and told to seat myself. I was promptly given a menu and offered coffee. The waitress was super knowledgeable on the menu and offered some suggestions that I took her up on. I got two pork-​chops (which were recommended) with two eggs, hash browns, two pieces of white toast and I added a side of corn beef hash. The porkchops were pretty overdone, dry and hard to eat. I ate the first one and gave up on the second one. It was like chewing on a tire. The hash browns were bland and almost had a crust but ended up being more rubbery where there should have been a crust. The eggs were also unseasoned but managed to come out as requested which was nice. The toast came buttered and tasted as expected. The corn beef hash is the same kind that comes from the can. They cook it up on a griddle so it has a nice crust but it’s a bit salty. All and all, the meal was ok and service was excellent.

Love this spot! Always the family go to restaurant! Always friendly servers :) food is always amazing and it’s really relaxing atmosphere. We can spend hours at a time enjoying great food and lots of stories :) the quality of the food is worth the wait like their sign says not fast food… fresh food! :D

You can’t get better service! Awesome people awesome food. I do wish that they had a compete remodel it’s a pretty old building and is in need of a makeover

Love the food and customer service was second to none. Also the homemade biscuits are a must when you visit.

Food is delicious. Staff is friendly they treat you as if you were a regular from the get go. 2^nd time here. No disappointment. Coffee is amazing here. Omlets. Chicken fried steaks. Waffles and fluffy pancakes

Even though Andy’s was across town, we decided to try it out. Totally surprised that it was packed, especially seeing it was New Years Day. I had the Chicken Fried Steak Special w/​hash browns and the wife had a mushroom & cheese omelette w/​home fries. The hash browns were good, the home fries were just Ok. The chicken fried steak covered my plate and they didn’t drown it in gravy which was perfect. If you haven’t tried it here you need to. The omelette was good but it didn’t look like a four egg omelette as advertised. The service was a little slow, but not too bad. We’ll be coming back to try a couple of other things to see if it deserves a better rating, but so far I’d come back again…

Food was good portion and service was good. I almost walked out since waitress was conversing with some lady about nothing, but things quickly turned for the best.

Bestest blueberry pancakes hands down!!! Never an empty coffee cup and smiles all around. Very home feeling… comfortable! Great food, great service, what else do you want???

This diner has a good atmosphere and friendly staff. It’s a cute little place. I personally love the veggie haystack — it’s delicious. The coffee is just ok, but there is always more of it being poured into your mug, so that’s something!

I was initially excited to come here with my family and try out the delicious-​sounding menu but unfortunately we did have a great experience here.
To be fair, it was a Saturday morning when we came in so they must have been busier than normal. The restaurant wasn’t very full however. Our server was inattentive and did not fulfill a lot of our requests. We asked for water and coffee 3 – 4 times and never got them. We were short on silverware and after waiting for 10 – 15 minutes, I got up to borrow from another table.
I ordered the eggs benedict but they served me fried eggs on top of slices of thick, dry ham. Traditional eggs benedict comes with poached eggs.

We recently had Saturday morning breakfast here. The previous time we ate here was nearly fifteen years ago. Essentially, nothing has changed. It’s diner food at a reasonable price. Service is good, and it’s seat yourself «anywhere you like.»
The clientele is a crossroads of old Pasco (blue-​collar, farmers) and new Pasco (Latinos and Hanfordites who have bought houses on this side of the Columbia River).
Between the booths are removable translucent panels, and an elderly man in the booth next to us inexplicably removed the panel and diddled with it until his wife spoke sharply to him in Spanish. He then quickly put the panel back.
I thought it was a little curious that in the restroom there was no door for the stall. Not that the door had been removed, but that there had never been a door, just a partial divider. That reminded me of nearby Columbia Basin College, where I attended junior college. Back then, there were no doors on the stalls either. Was this a cultural thing back in the 1950’s/early 60’s in Pasco when the college and this restaurant were built, kinda military-​like?
I was curious about a violet-​colored light I saw glowing out of a metal panel on one wall and wondered what it was for. I’ve seen these in fast-​food restaurants. I got JP to do my dirty work and ask the cashier what it was for. Sheepishly, he told JP it was for insect control. Hey, that’s a good thing! The violet light is nothing like those sadistic electric zapper things people used to hang in their backyard in the summer, that snapped and popped all night long.
So yeah, Andy’s is a decent spot for breakfast, and because there are plenty of tables, you shouldn’t have to wait to be seated.

I seem to be swimming against the stream. But I like Andy’s North far better (better service, food isn’t gross, and they serve booze).
We have eaten here twice in the past two years. And we wont be back. Both times we have eaten here I have left feeling nauseous. Now I am sure their food practices are fine (I guess) but the first time I had eggs Benedict and hash-​browns. And I love hash-​browns, of all kinds. But these weren’t. Brown. And it must be the oil they use on their griddle but I did not enjoy anything they cooked on it and I didn’t finish my food, and this is saying something for me. But the dogs did. Originally, I thought it was the ‘hollandaise’ but my second trip was the same. On the second time I had their biscuits and gravy (and hash-​browns) and while I am not a connoisseur, I don’t enjoy them and I found their gravy uninspired. If anything came from a can or bag, it was this. And I still felt gross. My spouse had a very uninspired omelette (the bacon was limp and the cheese was nasty).
As for the service it was slow. And there definitely seems to be a very strong preference toward the regulars. Now who doesn’t want to be a regular, but I wouldn’t want to be a regular here, and I wouldn’t want them to ignore the newcomers.
We tried it twice, and this is not a do again.

I’m not usually a big fan of old fashioned diner food, but this place HIT THE SPOT.
This place was crammed pack, and I was worried that we’d be turned away, but we were seated really fast.
We did have to wait a while for our food, and with it being so busy, I was worried about our order getting messed up, and/​or the food served cold, but everything was AWESOME, I was also worried that the food might be too greasy, because of previous reviews, but it was not; best breakfast that I’ve had in a long time, and there were PLENTY of options to choose from.
I’ve never seen servers work so hard, and efficiently, They moved from one table to the next, and they just kept going non-​stop. If you’ve ever seen the Polar Express movie, when they servers were serving the hot coco to the kids, the servers here all looked just like the movie servers, while serving their coffee, it was very entertaining.
Don’t be deceived by the looks; the decoration is not my favorite, wall paper borders, and lace curtain borders, I think that for the area, that the locals like it though, and they need to cater to their area, I really wouldn’t want them to change a thing, but if they ever did re-​decorate, it might be a perfect place to put pictures on the walls, and other home décor on shelves, and make them available for purchase, just an idea.
