Dr. Erickson was the most professional and caring vet I’ve ever encountered. She was straight forward, kept us up to date, but never cold or rude. After a long night we ended up having to put our fur baby to sleep, it was one of the hardest and most painful things I’ve ever had to do, but the staff at PES was patient and helpful throughout our time spent there.

This place is horrible! Didnt help my dog at all infact i believe they completely ignored the problem all together gave us an anti biotic charged $ 450 pushed us out the door.

All they care about is the money you have to pay up front.
They didn’t even do any proper screening, no blood test nothing all you get is I don’t know. They don’t actually want to deal with emergencies. Just your bank account. Dog could have died.

Our little Dachshund, ‘Leah’ partially ripped her toenail off and was in SO much pain before we took her to Mid Columbia Pet Emergency Services. We phoned them, and they provided at-​home instructions on how to treat our poor little hound. Unfortunately, we couldn’t rip our dog’s toenail ourselves, so we decided to take her in. We were quickly greeted and she was treated kindly and swiftly by their technician. She felt so much better after they tended to her toe. She even got a little pink boot to wear after! Thank you Dr. Erickson for your professional, caring and compassionate help this evening with our English Bulldog, Abby! Our dog Abby was experiencing respiratory distress and it culminated into a minor medical emergency. Dr. Erickson and staff were wonderful to work with. They treated Abby with the utmost care and made her comfortable during the process. The clinic was immaculate and professional. I would recommend them to anyone that needs after hour, emergency, or speciality services. Great Job!!!

I brought in my 8 year old dog after he was hit by a car in November and saw Dr. Erickson. He was in pretty rough shape. The staff rushed out and helped my dog into the back right away and got my approval to start treatment and pain medication. Dr. Erickson talked to us about what they had started and that she would like to for him over the weekend. She was very concerned and compassionate. We got to visit him a few times throughout the weekend and I was relieved to see how comfortable they were keeping him. Before coming in I was skeptical about because of some of the reviews I read, but after my experience I have to say that I do not agree with them at all. Of course they have to have payment, it is a business and they have to keep their doors open. Be thankful they are there. Overall I was pleased with the care my baby received. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I couldn’t ask for anything more during a time of crisis.

My little Jack Russell Terrier got in a dog fight and had multiple puncture wounds and a serious laceration on his front leg. I’m a paramedic and even I knew we couldn’t wait to take him to my regular Vet the following morning. It was pretty bad.
I called at about midnight and the Vet assistant helped me out with directions and possible cost…110 bucks up front just to look at him. When we arrived the girls were sweet, caring and the Vet was very nice. She said we did the right thing bringing him in. They seemed a little slow getting to the exam and we were the only ones in the building… don’t know why it took so long.
Overall my little guy was fixed up right. Good job with the stitches, medication and care… However the cost was twice the amount I considered. 580 bucks total!!! Worth it in my opinion but I guess when you operate at odd hours you can charge what ya want.
Knowing about health care and billing I finally looked at my itemized bill and found several things I disagree with. My dog didn’t need sub-​q fluids (he wasn’t dehydrated and was drinking water) 34 dollars. Clip and prep was 42 dollars… just shaved fur at injury sites. Finally a «Emergency Room» fee costing 50 dollars. Wow! My only real complaint is the billing.
I trust the facility and staff with my animals and would not hesistate to return. They did fantastic work and we’re genuinely concerned about my pup.

I rushed my 15 year old dog (Max) in early in the morning thinking for sure he was dying. The veterinary assistant saw us from the parking lot holding Max in a towel and ran to open the front doors for us. She immediately got him in the back room with the vet and started administering fluids and pain medication.
Instead of forcing us to pay right away and fill out a bunch of forms, she took a full patient history for my dog and was genuinely caring and compassionate about the whole situation.
After only a couple of minutes the vet met with us. Instead of pushing a bunch of pricey tests and unnecessary procedures, he told us that he had examined Max and that based on his age the situation, it actually looked much worse than it really was.
The Dr. was clearly very on top of the situation, very knowledgeable about what he was looking at, and very reasonable and down to earth when it came to a treatment plan. On top of that, he was so friendly, upbeat and positive that as soon as we started talking I immediately felt assurance that things were going to be okay.
I couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience at Mid Columbia Pet Emergency Service! I was so nervous to bring Max in, thinking they were going to be cavalier about the situation and just want to put him down because he was so old. Instead they acted swiftly and compassionately to make sure Max got the best treatment possible.

This place is expensive. They want you to pay before they even see what is wrong with your dog. They’re not sympathetic at all to your pet being hurt. After they send you on your way after draining you for over a grand for a few hours of care, they don’t bother returning your call about meds that are making your pet sick that they prescribed.

It’s the only place open for late nights and weekends so it serves its purpose. And you will pay a premium for that purpose, but in an emergency what else can you do? The woman at the front desk is very kind and helpful. I was pleased with the vet as well (Dr. Erickson when I went i). The techs could be a little friendlier and more professional-​one brought in paperwork for me that was obviously meant for another patient since it was about something totally unrelated to why I brought my dog in. Instead of apologizing and leaving, she argued with me that she was in the right place and I must need that info. Annoying and very unprofessional. I also wish they gave you a written report-​in an emergency, your mind is not always going to remember everything they tell you.

This clinic is a God send. They not only will see your pets on nights, weekends and holidays, but they have a full staff that are super friendly and seem to care a great deal about your pets and their owners. I have been there multiple times in the last few years (lots of pets) and have seen different doctors. They are very clear about costs and payment options. I thought that going to an ER clinic would be a cold, impersonal experience like at a human ER, but I was pleasantly surprised. My last visit was for my 10 year old dog. She had a high fever and was very ill. The doctor took time to sit down and explain her concerns and how she was going to figure out the problem in a very logical way. She did just that, and now my dog is now doing quite well. When we picked her up, the receptionists and techs were kind and polite. I recommend this clinic highly.

As others have noted they are expensive and go to great lengths to get into your wallet. I took my 17 year old dog here as I knew it was time to put him to sleep, and I didn’t feel I needed to pull my regular vet out of bed to do this. My dog was having trouble breathing, he was 17 years old. I had come to terms with what needed to be done. My son stayed outside with our dog while I went in to do the paperwork. I told them it was time and filled out necessary paperwork. I chose not to walk inside with my dog as he was already having labored breathing and the vets office would only make the condition worse. I told the girl that I would have my son bring him in when they were ready to work on him. The front desk attendant was apethetic and so uncaring. She told me I must bring the dog in and then we had to wait for approximately 10 minutes. We all would have been more comfortable waiting in the parking lot. The procedure itself-​they told me they would like to give him some Oxygen treatments and take xrays. Excuse me, are you listening– my dog is 17, yes 17 years old. Totally just milking every cent they could. After the dog was put to sleep, we stayed in the room during the procedure, the gal put him in a box. She then slid the box across the table at me, tapped on top of the box and said ‘I’ll take care of you up front.” Just like I was packing my groceries out.” I will NEVER recommend this place, and know of many other people that have had similar experiences. Emergency clinics are expensive, but first of all they should ALWAYS be empathetic! Call your regular vet!

It’s been awhile, but I had to take a cat here once. It was a $ 700 visit for what turned out to be a severe hairball. I was glad to have her taken care of, but ugh. If money is no object and/​or your pet is on its last legs, then this is the place to take them, but otherwise, watch out.

Be sure to take your pet here only if it is a real emergency. It costs $ 110 just to walk through the door and you have to pay the entire bill that night, no matter what the cost.
Took our cat who had an infected leg. They are very aggressive and will do all sorts of tests and surgeries. Needless to say it gets very expensive. So unless your pet is at death’s doorstep, avoid the emergency room

Watch your wallet at this place. I took my dog here thinking he may have been seriously ill. NOT! They took a large deposit and wanted to to routine blood tests. Took many xrays, in the middle of the night they wanted to do surgery, which I declined. I picked him up in the morning and took him to my vet with the xrays and records, after reviewing all the information he had none of the proplems that this vet clinic said he did. Wanting $ 1500 more in the middle of the night to save my dog? My vet clinic said this happens all the time. BEWARE, call you own vet first to see if they take their own emergencies. Please be careful!

Recently my dog needed emergency medical attention. From start to finish the folks at Pet Emergency treated me with strength and compassion. Dr. Swentik (sp?) was knowledgeable and highly capable. I was able to rest easy knowing my dog was getting round the clock care. Surprisingly the services at the ER were cheaper than what my regular vet was charging for the same services (IV’s, pain management etc). I highly recommend this agency.
