Allegretto Vineyard Resort

The courtyard is very nice, the decorations is a mix of Mediterranean and Asian influence. As you walk around, don’t forget to stop and admire all the beautiful statues and modern art sculptures. I absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The staffs are nice friendly and helpful.

One star is for the aesthetics. It’s a beautifully constructed site but an empty shell of an interior.
The staff are untrained in customer service.
The restaurant remains empty due to its lack of customer service.
Front desk staff while kind lack simple computer check in skills.
Beds are uncomfortable.
Temperature controls in rooms do not operate properly.
Beware of noise level. Travels easily from room to room.
Save your $$$ check into one of the many beautifully operated B&B’s throughout Paso Robles, where they treat you as a guest and appreciate your hard earned $$$!

Welcome to Tuscany. Really though. What an escape from reality this place was. Newly opened, great rates (that I’m sure will skyrocket once word gets out, although note that there are hidden resort fees) and a gorgeous property. The architecture is gorgeous, the property is beautiful (views of the vineyard from your room window!), the staff is generally helpful (giving benefit of the doubt as it just opened), the rooms are lovely. When we arrived there were a couple happy hour tastings going on (free) from local vineyards, which were delicious. We took our pours out onto the patio, which had fire pits and tables, and a superb sunset to top it off. The pool and jacuzzi are great (jacuzzi is big) and are surrounded by fancy cabanas — enjoy that one. The restaurant inside will deliver food outside to you, which is nice. Their buffet is pretty good, not the most extensive but tasty nonetheless, with affordable pricing. *Note: make a reservation for the restaurant. (Also: dinner spots nearby close early, and so does their room service. Late night diners like myself need to plan ahead.) The valet boys are all dolls, the front desk was semi informative. The rooms were really nice, fancy and contemporary, and anything we needed they brought to us in a timely fashion (towels, fruit, you name it). And like before mentioned: ours had a view of the vines :) There is cornhole games in the front of the hotel which was fun. If you need a shuttle for anything, let them know ahead of time. Overall a fantastic experience and I would happy to return on my next trip to ‘Paso.
Extra tip: San Antonio winery is next door so enjoy that, they have good lunch options in comparison to other vineyards.

The restaurant is the best world class restaurant I have ever experienced, including one in Paris, Fr. The dinner specials were delicious and well presented. The chef and kitchen staff are world class — but I said that already. The food was so good that we changed our plans so that we could eat there a second time. The Maitre d’ remembered and seemed genuinely pleased to see us again. The entire hotel staff were all very pleasant. I would gladly stay there again.

This was our second stay at Allegretto. The resort is gorgeous. The rooms are comfortable with all the right amenities!
Wine tasting in the evening — last time it was Allegretto wines which weren’t all that grand. This time an outside winery and much better! It would nice to have some appetizers to go along with the tasting.
The hotel was at 100% occupancy due to Cal Poly graduation– we stopped in the restaurant to make reservations for dinner Saturday night– were told they were full and could maybe get us in and would call us to confirm– 45 minutes later no call. We stopped back by to ask again and this time said they could get us in at 9pm– we decided to try our luck someplace else– as we approached the elevator the owner chased us down and offered to see what he could do as he overheard our conversation– 15 minutes later we got a call and had reservations at 7:30. The meal was fabulous! Breakfast this morning was on the patio and again the food was fantastic. We make frequent trips to the Central Coast and the Allegretto is our go to place. Sure the staff needs to work some things out– but they are trying– the hotel has been open less than a year. We will be back.

I attended a wedding here and it was beautiful. My husband and I stayed here for two nights and loved the accommodations. Our room was clean, good size and had a comfortable bed. The staff were nice and attentive. The cabanas by the poolside were comfy! The resort has many different interesting pieces for guests to use. We played bocce & ring toss outdoor and walked around to look at the vintage international pieces they had for guests to take pics of or to read the history behind them. It was an intimate getaway for us and I recommend it for people who want to to relax for the weekend. The wedding staff were absolutely amazing! They went out of their way to accommodate the guests. Food quality, staff attitude and the beautiful garden wedding layout made this occasion one of my favs! Loved it!!!

Unexpected magic — we will be back for a full weekend. From valet to GM, grounds and craftsmanship, this new resort is off to an amazing start. Curl up with a book on a garden swing or pool cabana, or throw a wedding. Artful surprises around every corner and very personal, authentic service. Loved the glasses of local red Thomas put in our hands while meeting other guests around the fire pit. Short Über ride to a string of great restaurants in town, a few which serve very late.

Beautiful resort that immediately makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a villa in Tuscany. The rooms are clean and luxurious. The staff is fantastic from the bellhops, the front desk concierge, the wait staff, and the housekeeping. This place has a very romantic atmosphere and I would recommend taking your special someone or a girl’s trip.

Stayed over Memorial Day weekend and it is a beautiful hotel but they need to figure out some issues with their staff.
Rooms are very comfortable, bathrooms are beautiful and elegantly decorated. Comfy beds with fluffy pillows, and nice thick towels.
The pool area is lovely but be aware of the strange reservation system they use to reserve cabanas– concierge arrives at 11, and you have to see her to reserve a cabana. At 11:01 they were all reserved? WTF. Apparently people somehow got ahead of the rest of us second class guests and got their cabanas. Apparently you can pre-​reserve days ahead. A cabana that seats 8 – 12 has a 2 people using it ALL day. That’s plain crazy.
The hotel opened in October 2015 so very new– but they have to figure out these things that make the overall experience less than optimal– especially when you’re paying $ 350/​night.
The courtyard firepits are nice but if there was restaurant/​bar service out there it would amplify the experience– but no one comes out there from the restaurant. I guess you could ask for wine glasses and open your own bottle since all there is out there is wineries.
Lastly they need to figure out their housekeeping resource needs. We left our room at 10am one day and returned at 4 and the room was still not cleaned. At 6 we called to ask what happened and was told it was a busy weekend with a «full house». I’m sorry Memorial Day weekend would be busy why didn’t you hire (or schedule) enough staff to get the rooms cleaned. Our beds were remade and new towels left at 8pm.
Quite unfortunate that these things happened but hope they work out these issues quickly. It’s a bit of a snooty hotel too– the guests all roll up in Tesla’s, Range Rovers, Ferrari’s, and Jags… So be warned!
Didn’t eat at the restaurant but heard some girls talking about the host there, an older dude who stared at the guests boobs and butts. Didn’t see it– but huge yuck factor.

Not impressed. Understand they recently opened but need to train their staff on basic customer service.

Just stayed at the Allegretto for a staycation. We are from Paso Robles and stayed here for my husband’s birthday. There was a hand written note from hotel staff wishing my husband a happy birthday in our room. Everyone was extremely polite and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and beautiful. Compared to other priced hotels in this area, Allegretto is very reasonably priced for what you get. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating and I appreciate not being nickeled and dimed everywhere I went.
I loved the music in the courtyard in the morning, love the gardens and fire pits everywhere and I loved that even though we didn’t even leave our home town, we felt as though we were miles away.
Con: Dinner menu and food was a major disappointment. Taste was very basic therefore I didn’t appreciate paying what I did for the food. Pretty expensive. Paso has a ton of really great restaurants and I would have expected their food to match the sophistication and caliber of their hotel. This was not the case. Lunch was good, but again, the menu selection was limited. Breakfast was also so limited, that we didn’t even eat there.
My husband and I had an amazing time. He now wants to do our staycation there every year :)

Great place to hang out after a Hearst Castle visit or a day of wine tour in PR. Setup is quite new, tons of art all around even a fire pit in the evenings in the courtyard where you can enjoy a glass of wine or smoke a cigar. The hotel is new since 2015, would definitely recommend if you are in the area and would like to enjoy a bit of art pieces they have collected. Very friendly front desk, took the time to introduce the hotel and it’s amenities as I told them it was my first time. Rooms are ultra new and with higher end fixtures than most places in the the area. The only thing I’d say is don’t call yourself a Vineyard if you only do tastings on the weekends. Bit quiet it seems on weekdays, but just what I liked. They now have room service as well, although I’ve not tried myself, but know through reading reviews that it was one of their negative feedback.

Allegretto has a lot of potential but I agree with the other guests that it’s not quite worth what they’re charging per night.
When we arrived the lock on our door was broken and the room wasn’t cleaned properly. Sean, one of the front desk staff members, quickly accommodated us with a new room and went above and beyond to make sure the rest of our stay was pleasant.
The hotel itself is beautiful and very well decorated, I think in a year or two when the vineyard and trees have had a chance to grow in it will be stunning.
I highly recommend their restaurant Cello, the staff is very attentive and friendly. I ordered their steak special and it was cooked perfect, paired with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes & cardamom butternut squash.
Their pool is gorgeous, it was too cold and stormy for us to use it but I can see this being a perfect summer destination.
Overall it’s a gorgeous hotel I’d just give it a few more months to get your full value out of your stay.
My one big note for the hotel would be to have the cleaning service pay more attention to detail to ensure guests begin their stay with the most positive experience possible.

Beautiful property, but not worth the price yet. My girlfriend & I stayed for 3 nights over New Years for our 1^st of many trips to Paso. I had taken them up on the up sale of champagne & chocolate covered strawberries in our room upon arrival and I requested a romantic note along with it. I called the morning if check in to confirm the arrangement, but upon arrival, nothing was in our room. I brought it to the front desks attention & they apologized & assured they would bring it over, but it already kinda ruined the moment. They did bring a different bottle of champagne with the strawberries & note, but they slightly miswrote the note with poor grammar. I was also charged more than the amount advertised. Rather disappointing for a place of this price & expectation. The sheets on the bed are extremely rough & will scar your body if you roll around!!!
After check out, I called the resort to express my displeasure & after a lengthy debate, I was refunded for the incorrect champagne, strawberries & note. The twins are very friendly and helpful.
I would give them another try in a little while because it seems they are still figuring some things out.

Every Christmas I make the trek from Sacramento to So. Cal to visit my family and the drive can be too much sometime. This year my husband and I decided to break up the trip by overnighting in Paso Robles. It gave us a chance to recharge from the driving and pick up some wine from my family on our way down. I booked Allegretto off Hotwire, which is necessarily hit or miss, but this really was an out of the park Home Run. We got a shockingly good deal for everything this hotel had to offer.
The grounds are huge, and our room overlooked the vineyards in the back, but even if it didn’t the alternative was a view of their gorgeous courtyard with beautiful fire pits and sculpture art. The rooms were perfect. The bed was incredibly comfortable and warm. The staff was friendly and their restaurant was fantastic. We ducked in for dinner just before 8 and each had a lovely meal. Their special was salmon and it may have been the best I’ve ever had. Also, their mixologist happened to be waiting that night and was assigned to our table so our drinks were just absolutely delicious. After dinner the hostess chatted with us for a little bit, and the bartender helped suggest a wonderful digestive before bed.
This will probably be our new stopping place every year we make this trip.

If I could rate the hotel’s restaurant, it would be a 1. Since this is for the hotel in general, I am bumping it up to 3 stars.
Beautiful, beautiful hotel. The staff at the front desk were very friendly. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 4:30pm, which was strange, but they offered to hold onto our luggage since we already brought them in.
The hotel has a lovely music theme to it (well duh, it’s called the «Allegretto»!); the elevators have a cello pattern, and their restaurant is called «Cello».
We didn’t dine at the restaurant, but we went in for drinks and dessert after dinner in downtown Paso Robles. The bartender working that night was an old man, who did not seem experienced. He did not greet us and seemed rather distant and cold. There was only one other customer sitting at the bar. I ordered a regular old fashion and my dad got one of their signature cocktails called the burnt orange martini, and my mom just got cran and orange juice mix with no ice. The bartender took a long time making the drinks (I don’t mind the wait, since I would rather have a well-​made drink than one that’s quickly and hastily made, but it was wayyy too long), and was clearly not familiar with the recipes.
We were interested in getting dessert, and when we asked him, he said they had a limited menu that night and that the only food they’re serving were on the bar menu. 15 minutes later, however, another waitress came by and said they had dessert. Cheesecake and tiramisu. We obviously ordered the tiramisu (my mom’s favorite!), but we were so disappointed when it came. It looked like scraps of cake mush with custard drizzled on top. The best part was the side of strawberries. There was no taste of rum or lady fingers at all. It was unappealing and tasted like a custard cake. It wasn’t even tiramisu! We felt cheated, in a sense. Very disappointing way to end our vacation in SLO/​Paso Robles.
Overall, we enjoyed the atmosphere and décor of the hotel, but the restaurant fell way short. Perhaps it will improve over time, but for the time being, we did not have a pleasant experience dining there.

Very elegant resort with great service. Rooms have high ceilings. Restaurant just opened and have a few kinks to work out but over all great food and service.
The court yard is really awesome, with fire pits and water fountain.

Tons of great architecture and historic pieces. All imported goods.
