If you’re hungry forget this place. Service is the worst. 25 minutes to take the order 30 minutes to get the orde and then it was wrong. Left without eating and will tell everyone in Paso Robles to forget chicos and the Catch

No longer in business. The owner has opened up next door as Catch Seafood Bar & Grill which is excellent. Bill K.

Best breakfast my family and I had on our 7 day California coastal road trip and that’s saying a lot considering we spent 4 days in SF. Service was great and we ordered the following: Breakfast Burrito– delicious! Breakfast combo with Bacon and Hash browns– very good! Chocolate chip pancakes– delicious! Biscuits and Gravy– AMAZING! My only complaint is the coffee seemed a bit watery and I normally like it pretty weak, but this was very watered down other than that everything was outstanding

The food is fantastic, yummy, always pleased. Service is excellent, Waitress very accommodating, always allows customization on their menu. We had the Calamari for appetizer and had the Mahi Mahi and Alaskan Halibut Florentine which tasted amazingly and the Calamari was the best we ever had, so tender, lightly breaded, so yummy. This is the 2nd time at this restaurant. Will go here every time we go to Paso. You must eat at this place if you love seafood!

Hungry. Searched for breakfast location at noon. Called Chico’s Café and they have breakfast until 2pm on Saturdays. Woohoo. Showed up and was seated right away. We noticed a lot of locals here; our server is friendly and knew the locals! The food arrived; it was delicious! I ordered the 3 eggs breakfast; can’t remember the last time sunny side up tasted so yummy. The hubby got the blueberry pancakes. Yummy. We would definitely stop by the next time we are in Paso. :)

One of the best things about Chico’s is that there is a real Chico doing the cooking and mostly his family taking care of the customers. Great food, relaxing atmosphere, excellent service and VERY nice people who appreciate our business. We appreciate his great food.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner you can’t go wrong, Chico’s is my favorite restaurant in Paso!!! As a local we have several choices of where to eat most are good to really good, but Chico’s is the best for me. If you have a chance to try his bisque, lobster or salmon don’t hesitate you’ll love it! Sand dabs are my go to for dinner and my wife usually has the salmon, we have had the lobster great, the king crab great, don’t pass on the green lip muscles and/or steamed clams. For lunch always go for the fish and chips, if your not into that the hamburgers are great as well. Keep up the good work Chico!

I hate to go back and drop this family owned business a star but when a simple dish isn’t nailed it turns to an ok dish and is three stars to me. I like coming here for the really good breakfast plates and the fresh not fancy simple seafood dishes they offer. This time when I came most of the seafood specials ran about $ 23.00 each and included a big fresh dinner salad. I ordered the local sand dabs special. I got a very generous serving of fish that seemed fresh and was ok because it was only slightly overcooked. The most delicious part of my dinner was the mushrooms over the fish. They were delicious and someone cooked them in garlic, white wine and butter. My potato was edible but had a slightly burnt taste and the carrots were a little dried out but not bad. It was ok but not as good as usual. Maybe a different cook was on. I’ll keep them on my Paso Robles list because this might have been an off day and I do know the breakfast plates have always been good here.

My husband and I came up to Paso for our mini honeymoon after our wedding last weekend. We were leaving on tuesday(3 days ago) but needed to stop by to get some breakfast before we went. We Unilocaled some places around and after stopping by at some random coffee shops that upon entering we quickly changed our minds about eating at, we found this one and decided to stop by. The inside is really small, so we sat outside on their patio. Our waitress was very quick to come out and take our order and bring and refill our drinks. Around us were sitting some guests who ordered their food by saying, «The usual, you know what I like», to the waitress, so they clearly have a lot of regular customers. I ordered the tuna melt with the minestrone soup, and my husband I believed ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. I enjoyed my tuna melt and my husband did too as he finished the rest of it that I was too full to eat. He also really loved his meal. The only thing that I wasn’t a big fan of was the minestrone soup. I’ve had it at other places and it has always tasted better. I wish that I had ordered the other soup that they had that day, but oh well. Overall, we really enjoyed the experience there, we loved the area and the environment; it was a beautiful sunny day so sitting out on the patio was perfect. The service was great and the food was wonderful; we will definitely be back when we go up to visit again.

I went for breakfast the other day and was very disappointed. When we sat down there was maybe two other tables occupied, who were already finished eating. The server took our drink order, and gave us our drinks before two other tables sat after us, however their food came out way before ours. It was so long both of our drinks were completely empty by the time we got our food. My coffee was completely empty before I had to tell the server I would like a refill. Most places notice those things and refill it before you even finish. Server didn’t even check my cup when she was near the other tables which were seated right next to mine. After clearing our plates she never even came back to ask if we needed change or need a card ran. The food was ok, but was clearly overshadowed by the poor service.

Lobster dinner for my birthday dinner was awesome. Free slice of cake was a great touch. Breakfast and dinner in this place is considerably reliable. Bring your kids or pets can sit outside. Chico and his wife have been in this area a long time and it shows.

If your first impression is because of the name, you will be sadly disappointed. This is not what you might have expected. This is not Mexican cuisine. And it is not a traditional café. It is more like a bistro and the menu is as close a you can get to fine dining, but without the pretentiousness. Chico is the chef/owner. His talent for creating good food is beyond expectations. The first thing to notice is the wine list. Everything is very affordable, most in $ 20 range. Impressive. The menu is limited to just a few entrees, but seafood seems to be his forte. This is the place you want to come to experience fine seafood that somehow escaped the nearby coast. We are in Paso Robles, hot, inland wine country, and it is still a good thing. It is just as fresh, crafted with sensitivity and good taste. Things I can definitely recommend: Scallop and Shrimp Scampi Calamari Steak with a light panko coating Clam Linguini Rib Eye Steak The sides… sliced, young, white potato rounds lightly seasoned and buttered, a medley of fresh vegetables done with a light hand so they still maintained their crunch and flavor. All delicious. We dined, quietly savoring each bite. Meanwhile, the little ones dined on some decent chicken strips and french fries, right up their alley. The fries were so good, I think the adults absconded with many of them. Shameless. And then came impressive dessert. If you are a chocoholic, the Chocolate Oblivion cake, not a cake at all, but a pure slab of decadently smooth, flourless chocolate cake surrounded by a drizzle of chocolate sauce, fresh strawberries and whipped cream is for you. The Mocha Cheesecake was yet another offering, of the same caliber, but we did not try both. We were told they came from a small bakery in nearby Cambria, French Corner Bakery. We of course found ourselves driving there the next day. Serious addiction in such a short time. It did not disappoint. It was, all in all, a lovely meal and one that we agreed we must repeat. And a day later, we were told of their incredibly great breakfasts as well. Knowing this, they couldn’t keep me away now if they tried. We are looking forward to it.

Great quality ingredients. Food fresh made each morning. Chicos always in the back working hard. The eggs rancheros is awesome and they have great pancakes. The best spot downtown paso. If it’s full you’ll be alright at Joe’s down the main street. Don’t waste your time at Vics or cowgirl café. They have the cheapest Safeway ingredients. Chico gets good stuff and takes quality in what he makes. He doesn’t just hire some kid in the back microwaving waxy eggs. It’s the real deal.

Really great staff and family. The best breakfast in Paso. The breakfast burrito is incredible and all the portions are big enough to share, you won’t want to. They have great seafood all the time. It is a very low key find in paso robles with great food and great prices.

I had a hamburger and soup. Artichoke bisque was the soup and it was small but good. The hamburger was grilled onions and mushrooms. The hamburger had no taste. The mushrooms were thinly sliced and did not add to the taste. My wife had a hamburger with a salad. The hamburger had no taste. The salad was just large lettuce leafs with a sliced tomato on it. Kind of lazy and the presentation was not up to other restaurants in the area. The service was good.

My mom loves this place, and I have now officially gone here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have to agree with her — it’s solid, quality food. Kind of a classy-diner atmosphere, personable service, and family owned and operated. For breakfast, I had Huevos Rancheros. And they knocked it out of the park. The(vegetarian!) refried beans were just as smooth and scrumptious as the lardy-filled type. So. Good. Coffee was lovely too. My guest raved about her breakfast burrito, and my mom swears by their pancakes. For lunch, I had a Cobb Salad tossed with Bleu Cheese dressing. Fresh produce, flavorful dressing, perfectly tossed. For dinner, I had a(wild caught!) halibut with shrimp on top, sautéed spinach, and potatoes. The flavors were delicate and well balanced. Very rarely is a restaurant so successful across the board. Bravo.

Small and very casual downtown spot. We stopped here for breakfast; our orders came out surprisingly quick! I found the gravy that accompanied the biscuits a bit bland. Pleasant service; nice staff. The location offers a nice view of the park across the street.

We were here for dinner and the food quality to the price ratio is really good. It may have been a five star if we did. It have some whacka doodle doo couple in our space for an hour plus ruining our time together. But despite the whackos– the food was solid– Oh — and they allowed us to bring our wines with no corkage fee!
