General Store Paso Robles

I love this place! Such a great variety of fun things. It’s a great place to shop for someone who has everything, too. Lots of unique and unusual gift items. Always great customer service and extra touches when packaging your goodies, too.

A quaint little store with a variety of gift ideas: soaps, olive oils, spices, etc. We were visiting Paso on a wine tasting tour and wandered in just after they opened. Anna was EXTREMELY helpful and nice! We asked her some other places she would recommend we visit and her recommendations were spot on! We enjoyed our soaps and homemade Almond brittle. If you are looking for a «old fashioned» country store, this really isn’t for you. But it is a cute shop for gifts.

This store has goodies worth checking out. I’m a soap lover and found some good choices here. The woman working, Anna, was super nice and helpful when we asked which wineries to go to. And make sure you get some of the almond brittle. Awesome!

Five stars for offering Negranti Creamery’s sheep’s milk ice cream. That stuff is hard to find and so good. Also, the lady was super helpful, even going so far as to make a call for us and passing us the phone.

One of my favorite places to shop for little treats and great gifts! All the gals working there are super nice and helpful!

Decided to do a little local shopping with local products and could not have been more satisfied with it!
The service was also top notch, the lady on the counter was very friendly and helpful! She got service down to an art!

First heard about this shop over the radio and ever since then I have been wanting to go. Definitely lived up to it’s expectation! Pricey for a college budget but if you want something special, unique and local this is the place to be. Great for gifts and local food products!

This place is a lovingly curated treasure trove of local artisan goods, beautiful contemporary jewelry, and all those Pinterest-​worthy treasures that make a house a home and a kitchen a haven. Come here to get the best of the county; I’m talking soaps, cookbooks, spice mixes, fresh juice popsicles, gelato, beef jerky, almond brittle, salumi, etc.
As an added bonus, the owners put their heart into making the store a haven and finding new items. They are kind women with a collective discerning eye; I always look forward to coming to the General Store, stealing a small whiff of the Coconut Jam, and seeing what’s new.
ITEMS I BUY REGULARLY:
— The Bittersweet coffee scrub is an absolute delight. I buy this for myself and when I want to give a quality gift; I am taking orders for friends across the country who are now totally addicted to the scrub!
— Soap. The General Store stocks locally made soap in a small but colorful variety of scents. My favorites are the new Pumpkin Spice and the floral yet herby Gardener’s Bar. These soaps won’t dry you out and make every shower luxurious.
— Chocolate. The owners do an amazing job at selecting artisan chocolate, most of it organic, some of it in creative mouther-​watering flavors like peanut butter and jelly, or bourbon. This is one of the few places in town I can find quality 85% chocolate as well.
— Bless Your Heart Bakery bars. Try the Sunflower Annie flavor, unless I’ve eaten them all, which is likely.
YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT…
— The General Store stocks artisan mustard, vinegar, honey, and ketchup, everything you need to up your burger game.
— The spice mixes are EXCELLENT. There was a time where I could not stop cooking with the PASO DUKKAH.
— YOU CAN SAMPLE EVERYTHING. Concerned some of the flavors are too adventurous? Try them on the spot. It’s awesome.
There’s even freshly baked BACON BREAD every morning. You need to hit up this place and get in on the awesome!

Charming downtown shop with a good variety of items, most of which are local! Things I would not find elsewhere all in one convenient location! I have fun browsing in here! The sales associate was very friendly and helpful as well!

They put together a gift basket for my parents and it was awesome! They were very friendly and accommodating, and even helped to arrange a custom delivery for me, since I am out of town. I will definitely shop here again. :)

One of the things I adore about Paso Robles are the small local shops that dot the idyllic downtown scene. General Store contributes to this lovely town’s offerings. Tucked inside a well-​decorated and comforting storefront, the store offers unique gifts for dining and wining. I wanted to spend more time browsing the inventory, but alas, wine tasting awaited. I will return here for something unique and interesting for my kitchen.

This is another cute store in Paso with a lot of cute knick knacks and local treats such as jams, oils, and best of all Bacon Bread! Genius! The lady was very nice had a cute extra touch of a bit o honey with your receipt.

A well appointed store with lots on interesting artisan items. It’s one of those fun browse around store where one leaves the hurry mode at the door. Really interesting spices, not run of the mill. Tasting is allowed.
The fresh baked unique bacon bread is a must. A couple of over easy eggs with fresh bruschetta made a lovely breakfast the next day. Nice chunks of bacon and just the right amount. Loved it and the store!

Love this store and so glad they are downtown. They have a great selection of local artisan goods, things you might of forgotten while traveling, picnic supplies, and even s’more goods but with quality. They have started doing flowers on the weekends. Lastly, some of the sweetest ladies own this place. It’s a perfect stop for gifts or if you are visiting Paso.

Another place I like to take friends and family.
They have a large selection of local goods. Baskets, food, lotions, books… If you are looking for a gift for someone look no further. So far I have purchased a cute shirt for my nephew that said Paso Boy and they have onesies for babies and adult shirts as well. I have also tried their popsicles and they are refreshing and perfect for a hot day. I can’t wait to try the macaroons and coffee they have.
I am really impressed with how everything is laid out and displayed. Very quaint and inviting.

I give this place my highest recommendation. This is precisely the kind of shop someone would hope to find while on a daytime stroll through downtown Paso Robles. The space well organized and tidy, and filled with tastefully selected items (cured meats, cheeses, chocolates, sweets, assorted sodas, etc.) and accessories (wine openers, cheese boards) ready to grab for a picnic in nearby City Park, or given as unique lifestyle gifts for that hard-​to-​shop-​for food enthusiast in your life. They even have dog biscuits available to keep customers’ canines happy. The staff there was incredibly approachable and very friendly. Truly a fantastic shop! Definitely must visit this store when in Paso Robles.
