It is not possible for me to say enough good things about High Ridge Manor or Cindy and Jim (the owners). My husband and I came here for my 40^th birthday weekend. Even prior to arriving Cindy worked with my husband to accommodate our late arrival; ensured there was a birthday cake and champagne waiting for us; and made all of our dinner reservations, even giving advice on where to eat. He must have called her a half a dozen times and she was gracious and helpful each time.
The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The grounds are immaculate. The views are breathtaking. In fact the views are so good we cancelled our dinner reservations one night (or more accurately, Cindy cancelled them for us) and just sat on our patio drinking wine and eating snacks we brought from the grocery store.
There is a happy hour every night. Do not miss this. It is free wine from local wineries and the appetizers Jim cooks up are indescribably delicious. Same goes for the morning breakfast. Jim is a master in the kitchen.
We recommend High Ridge Manor to anyone who will listen and plan to be repeat customers ourselves for years to come.

Oh heck yeah! Jim and Cindy have built quite the place. Consider yourself lucky to stay here. Really fantastic accommodations… craftsmanship all around… great designer touches… perfectly situated views from the rooms. Our bed was a four poster high off the floor with a real pillow top mattress… hard to leave… except for that damn smell of breakfast wafting through the house.
Sometimes the breakfasts you get at a BnB leave a little to be desired. Not here. Excellent kitchen execution and substantial portions. They treat guests like family… in the best way possible… not in the «why don’t you go play in traffic» way.
The game room was fun… there was only a honeymoon couple at the property and we didnt see them except at breakfast… so, we played a little strip «billiards» and ‘Pacman”…which was a fun throw back to years gone bye.
The room had a deep tub that was used each night to its fullest and best extent… relaxing and foreplay. All good.
Its also situated with a 360 view on the east side of 101 back in the hills… so, you get to find some less tour bus and wedding party wineries for casual tasting and discussion.
The grounds look fabulous… and we will likely look at it for a spring or fall return when the air temp and weather are more favorable for sunning and swimming.

We really enjoyed our stay at High Ridge Manor in Paso Robles. Cindy and Jim’s bed and breakfast was elegant with perfect décor. They anticipated any needs before our stay. Their place is amazing, clean and very well maintained. With the fluffy bed, spa tub, fireplace and beautiful grounds, there is nothing one could want.
Every morning we were met with a spectacular breakfast created by Jim the chef! Each meal was unique and of gourmet quality. Cindy and Jim are great host and hostesses. They are truly a genuine, fun and gracious couple who are extremely helpful and kind. You will be happy in all ways with you stay at High Ridge Manor.

Cindy and Jim did it. The man and I came here because of the high reviews on trip advisor and Unilocal.I wanted someplace perfect and romantic. With good Food and fantastic hosts. Cindy and Jim were extremely welcoming. They held a cocktail hour before dinner to discuss/​share wineries. Helped us get dinner reservations and into some hard to get in wineries. The breakfasts were to die for. Everything was absolutely perfect. I HIGHLY recommend you look NO FURTHER then High Ridge Manor for your romantic getaway.

The owners could not be more welcoming. the view and rooms were stunning! Fire place, spa tub, and rolling hills and vineyards right outside your window.

Hands down the best B&B to stay when in Paso Robles! The inn keepers Cindy and Jim are wonderful, friendly, and full of great restaurant and vineyard suggestions. The breakfast meals and appetizers that they prepared were delicious. The room we stayed in was beautifully designed by the couple, which had a great view of the surrounding vineyards and a pool with an amazing backyard (which we didn’t use since it wasn’t exactly «pool weather“out). There is really nothing better than waking up and seeing the beautiful view. And having a fireplace, and Spa all to your own! Would definitely recommend staying here for your next visit. I can’t wait to visit again during warmer weather and fully indulging in Chardonnay and dipping into the pool!

Just stayed at High Ridge Manor this past weekend, and had a great time!
I had decided to propose to my girlfriend (now fiancée!), and this was the perfect setting. I emailed back and forth with Cindy and Jim, and they were patient and perfectly helpful! They picked up a bottle of my girlfriend’s (now fiancée!!!) favorite champagne and a beautiful dozen roses, and had it all set up on the gazebo for us. It really helped make it an amazing evening!
Beyond all that, the food was incredible, the rooms were warm, comfortable and clean as a whistle, and Cindy & Jim were gracious and welcoming hosts.
Absolutely enjoyed it, and we’ll return without a doubt!

Cindy and Jim are fabulous hosts. Their B & B is clean, beautiful and well appointed. Great views complete with deer and wild turkeys. They are knowledgeable about the area and even have a limo service on property so you can enjoy wine touring safely.
Jim is the chef and each morning you will be overjoyed with his creations. Make sure to be hungry, and don’t plan on lunch, because we were satisfied until dinner! Delicious and hearty. Cindy creates a lovely table setting that was different each morning that I enjoyed. Every afternoon they have hors d’oeuvres and wine set up in the billiard room. BTW, the billiard room was the clincher for me choosing this B&B. I knew my husband would love it.
Unique features are that every guest room has a private entrance, patio and jetted soaking tub with a view, and fireplace. Our room, bed and pillows were high quality and very comfortable. Side note for lunatics like me that are sensitive to scents. The bed linens were perfumed, probably by scented laundry detergent or dryer sheets. When we stay again, I’ll request our sheets be washed in unscented.
The B & B was a little further from downtown Paso Robles than I had expected, but was not a problem. In fact, had we been closer to town we wouldn’t have had the spectacular views. It’s approx. a 10 – 15 minute easy, scenic, mostly one road drive.
We are happy to recommend High Ridge Manor to folks looking for a relaxing, comfortable, delicious, getaway.

I know I am the only one here that is going to write a bad review but here goes…
I am giving this 2 stars because of the amazing view. Other than that, not a great experience. First of all, there is no privacy. My boyfriend and I wanted to stay at a place where we could enjoy our time with the wineries and then come back to peace and quite alone. From the moment we got there, the owners made us feel like we were in their home, not a guest in room that we are paying for. The guy walked in the room in front of us and headed straight out a back door to get ice and apparently the wine they forgot to put in our room. It was really odd and uncomfortable. There was no explanation of what that door was or where it led until later so we sat there wondering.
The next day, we made sure to lock the door hoping no one would enter while we were out but they came in anyway and left the door unlocked. Its fine for the owners but all the other guests have access to the same hallway and I didn’t appreciate having my personal belongings at risk.
In the mornings, the lady seemed to be waiting outside our room for us to come and go so she could ask us if we were joining them for breakfast or coming to have wine and get to know them. Not what I am into at all.
Perhaps we are just not into the whole BnB thing but I have never stayed at a place that made me feel so uncomfortable.

We really lucked out on this place due to a last min cancellation. Amazing views, wine on arrival, wood fired oven pizza outside, and great company. You can’t go wrong with this place.

My husband and I recently stayed at High Ridge Manor for 4 nights. It was such an amazing experience. We love B&Bs, and this is the best one we have stayed in by far. The property is truly gorgeous with stunning views. It screams romance and relaxation. It’s also situated at the top of a hilly road that was ideal for an early morning jog or walk. Cindy and Jim are wonderful hosts and so much fun to talk to about the area and get suggestions on where to go explore. They really made our trip incredible with their hospitality. We got lucky and had the place all to ourselves since we were there during weekdays. We definitely felt pampered. Not only was our room and the whole property just absolutely beautifully high-​end, the food was delicious too! How can you go wrong with appetizers and wine every evening and a 2-​course gourmet breakfast every morning. Oh and did I mention that they have hot coffee waiting for you outside your room every morning as well… This trip was truly the perfect getaway. We are already thinking about the next time we will have a chance to go back. I 100% recommend staying at High Ridge Manor and exploring Paso Robles, you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I stayed at High Ridge Manor before I could Unilocal about it. First of all I want to say I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when in Paso Robles. You arrive to this beautiful B & B overlooking the valley. The owners Jim and Cindy are fabulous! We loved the beds, the pool and hot tub and the limo to the wineries. After our first visit a few years ago we went back 3 or more times after that. We are hoping to get back there again in 2012. We miss Paso and and the enjoyable time we spent at High Ridge Manor and the friendship we formed with Jim and Cindy.

We were driving up the State and stumbled across HRM. The last time I was in Paso it was a horse town. Not anymore it is a wine and art town. We had a blast exploring Paso.
The real gem of the trip was HRM. My wife and I found their add and we canceled our original plans when we found they had a room. A decision we will never regret. Jim & Cindy are wonderful host. Jim is quite the cook. Breakfast was out standing and if you have ever had Jim’s homemade syrup you know what I mean.

My Fiancé took me to HRM for my birthday Memorial weekend. It was a surprise so I had no idea what to expect. First impressions… WOW! The property and view is spectacular! The place is huge. I was daydreaming about hanging out at the pool and just relaxing doing nothing. There are three separate guest rooms. Yup, it has a jacuzzi in the room. The style reminds me of a European villa. Our host Cindy and Jim are amazing! They make you feel very welcome. I instantly felt like I was home. The view from their living room opens up like a large beautiful canvas. The large panoramic windows perfectly frames every sunrise and sunset. The breakfast… to die for! First morning we had chorizo quiche and the second we had fresh blueberry pancakes. They also make great recommendations on wineries. We visited several backyard wineries. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you again Cindy and Jim!

My boyfriend and I stayed here last weekend and had an amazing time. This house was constructed to be a B&B, with each of it’s three rooms having complete privacy, their own restrooms, gorgeous spa tubs, and a private entrance. The owners, Cindy and Jim, are absolutely wonderful and gracious hosts. Jim is a spectacular cook, creating savory hors d’oeuvres each evening and a delicious, hearty breakfast in the morning (blueberry pancakes mmmmm).
As in previous posts, Jim has his own limo service the guests can utilize. He took us to some great wineries– Steinbeck/​Paso Ports, B & E, Hidden Oak, and Sarzotti– for wine tasting. All were spectacular — Steinbeck/​Paso Ports and Sarzotti being our favorites. Using the limo service is definitely worth it to be able to enjoy the wine tasting experience and not worry about the cops (who apparently don’t appear on the roads until around 5PM).
All in all, a wonderfully romantic experience and I wanted to bring home the pillows from the bed! I’ve never slept so well, but I’m sure the wine and jacuzzi tub had something to do with that, too.

This was our first time visiting the Paso Robles area and we were excited to try out all the wineries. Luckily for us I stumbled across this B&B that also has its own Limo service company. Jim and Cindy (J&L) are SoCal transplants that own a very nice hillside lot with unobstructed views of Paso and the Santa Lucia Coastal Mountain Range.
Driving through the town to get to this place did have us questioning if we had made the right decision. HRM is out in the boonies! But once we got there we were blown away. This is not your typical B&B. The property is nice, kept up and the views are forever. Jim met us out front and soon after Cindy came out and they gave us the tour. They have a huge house and it was built to be private for them and their guests. The top portion of the house, where they live, has its own entrance in the front. The bottom of the house which has the B&B rooms each have their own entrances which are in the back. Everything is set up very nice with personal touches everywhere. There is a pool, jacuzzi, BBQ pit, gazebo, horseshoe and lots of areas to roam around.
HRM only has 3 rooms and on our weekend visit we were the only ones there. The recession has taken its toll on Paso but we were excited because we had the place all to ourselves. The rooms are very well appointed. Among our favorites were the fireplace, big comfy featherbed and the nice jacuzzi tub overlooking the property. Outside the hallway towards the house we found a billiard room with a tv, pool table, popcorn machine and an old school Pac Man table arcade. The wine cellar is also connected to this room. J&L will ask you what type of wine you drink and they will have it ready for you.
After unpacking we were ready for the pool and while out there Cindy brought us out a delicious artichoke dip with goodies to dip in it. We had already popped open the bottle of wine in our room so we were good to go. Wifey thought the pool was a bit cold so she jumped into the hot tub only to find out it hadn’t been turned on. J&L said they didn’t turn it on because the warm sun heats it up. Needless to say it went unused. But every afternoon we had app’s and a new bottle of wine so that easily made up for it.
Breakfast was served in the mornings in their kitchen upstairs and I will say Jim is a great cook. Everything was fresh, warm and delish. Definitely a nice way to start the mornings and the views from up there are even better.
Free W-​Fi is offered but we had a problem with a weak signal in our room. J&L said it was because we were in the room furthest from the router. This was annoying to us as we are from Silicon Valley and know a router wi-​fi extender would easily solve this issue.
The nuisances were very minor but I just thought I’d mention them. We also had a great time with their dogs. They love going after that tennis ball. This place is very nice and we can’t wait to return. It is a bit out of town but a great place for a nice romantic retreat

One of my favorite guest houses in California. Luxury accommodation and a perfect setting. Jim and Cindy are perfect hosts … they totally respect your privacy while are available should you have any needs. Cindy did a great personalized wine tasting tour introducing us to some of the estate owners. A wonderful weekend and will not hesitate to go back
