Absolutely awesome store. They have tons of items you cant find anywhere else around here… and their prices are impossible to beat. The employees are professional and the store itself is clean.

Do not shop here if you have Bank of the West, for some reason my card has been declined on multiple occasions as well as my husband’s. If your on WIC go elsewhere for your formula as they never seem to have enough in stock. Prices are typical to high depending on what you purchase, selection is nothing to be impressed by. While some of the cashiers are nice some are very rude… ANDSLOW, like Omg slow.

Horrible customer service, the check out girl must be racist because she offered a bag and help to the white people in front and behind me, but not me. Didn’t even offer to put my items in the cart. Since all my items were bagless, the iced tea got crushed and now there’s a sticky mess in the back of my car. Aisles were packed and it wasn’t even busy. Horrible selection of baked goods, no pumpkin any thing and it’s fall. Will never go to that racist store again.

Fine for non-food items, but if you’re looking for decent nourishment, don’t look here. SOOOO disappointed a second(!) one is opening in Paso about 3 minutes from the other. I have a novel idea… how about if we get someone who supplies us with quality food products. Very sorry to hear Hagen is being replaced with more junk. Now those of us who are willing to pay for quality have very few options without heading to SLO. If Paso wants residents to keep their money local, attract quality!

This is my favorite place to shop in Paso Robles. Prices are good. Selection is good. Produce is good quality for the price(cheaper than and on par with Albertson’s and Haggen’s, but way better quality than the less expensive produce items at Food4Less). Lines can be long but waiting 5 extra minutes isn’t the worst thing in the world. Early AM is a breeze with lines.

Serious problems there– stock outs, jambed aisles, poor customer service– They better get their act together soon

This place always has huge lines and seriously the slowest checkout process imaginable. Also be weary of «sales» on meat and you see a lot of blood in the package. Literally a pound of the weight your paying for will be just blood. I weighed it out on my scale at home and just accounting the chicken it was about a pound less for what I paid for.

This is a good place to come if you need things in bulk. I don’t find their produce prices to be all that good. I mainly come here if I can’t find something at one of the other local stores.

I am impressed enough with Smart & Final to consider myself a repeat customer, but not impressed enough to consider this place my go-to grocery store. Mainly because sometimes their ‘deals’ on non-bulk items reeks of Albertson’s version of ‘deals’ and I’d rather go to Food-4-Less. What’s impressed me the most is the quality, variety and selection of fruits and vegetables. It’s not a very large section of the grocery store(like most other grocery stores), but it’s abundant. They have really good deals on dates and almond butter(but good luck trying to find them!). Another thing that impressed me was customer service. While not always the friendliest, they are attentive and keep the lines moving. In my experience, the long lines here move fairly quickly. Unless you come in at high traffic times/holidays then expect it to be a bit of a longer wait. The store is like a miniature Costco without the exclusive membership. By miniature I mean: really tiny meats, bread and veg section but quality, variety and selection are obviously their key focus. I knocked a star for the absurdly uneven aisle layout. Some rows are much more narrow to navigate through than others. The lighting is rather dim on certain aisles which is not aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. Also because they don’t offer Diet Pepsi and I feel like there is something incredibly wrong with that(says the Diet Pepsi lover). Oh, and good luck with parking. Talk about an absurd style design of a parking lot.

For us north county residents Smart and Final is the go to place for party shopping! It is for many of us the equivalent of a Costco of the north. The prices on many of the Cases of vegetables are a knockout. Yep, you better have a big party or run a restaurant(after all who buy 2 dozen heads of lettuce to take home) for some of the stuff, but don’t let that comment stop you. This is a great place to shop and one visit and tour of the place will show you why. Great Produce, really!

First off the employees are fabulous! They are helpful, nice and very pleasant. This is a better store than I thought it was going to be but they still have some bugs to iron out and that is why I give it 3 stars. The biggest problem is the produce. Apparently their refrigerators in the back are too cold and freeze it causing it to thaw and mold easily or not be as fresh. I am also disappointed at the meat department. The quality of meat is very poor and when contrasted with Scolaris, who had the biggest selection of Harris Ranch grass fed meat around, it is tough to deal with. The rest of the store is nice. They do not carry as many brands or products as a normal grocery, but really they have almost everything you could want. I hope they improve the produce situation and upgrade their meat. Glad to have a supermarket back on the West side of town!

Avocados four for a dollar. Great wines at reasonable prices. Huge bags of chips and bottles of salsa for just a few bucks. What’s not to love? This store has some great deals on select items. While they aren’t cheap across the board, the store itself is brand new and well-maintained. Quick tip: If you plan to pay by credit card, make sure to have your I.D. handy, as they request it even on small purchases.

We were brave and went on opening day. The parking lot was jammed, but the lot security helped to get us parked in no time. The lines were ridiculously long, and wrapped along one side and part way across the very back wall of the store. Even so, they were REALLY well staffed, and handled the long lines with ease and a smile to boot! They have way more options available than the SLO store, and we found our visit to be quite enjoyable despite the crowds. So pleased that they are open. Welcome to Paso Smart and Final!

My first thought is that I am impressed that its much nicer than a regular Smart and Final, but not quite a full grocery store but darn close. In the remodel from Scolari’s it appears they left some things undone. The floors need to be fixed and look dirty. It’s a great start. I hope they improve on it.
