The food is amazing! Im Ecuadorian and this is the best place there is in New Jersey! I give it a one star just because the service i got thru the phone! Its not the first time i get a horrible service at this place but sad is that its with the same person. I believe she is the owner and yes perhaps the place is busy but rushing and trying to hang up the call doesn’t make things move quick. i was ordering three items and at the second she was hanging up the phone. Horrible service! As a OWNER show an example!

I really enjoyed the food from this place; It was my fist time actually dining in, oh boy it’s sooo busy! Finding parking is a mission! Because they are so busy on Sundays with church crowd, the service is a bit slow but so worth it. They give you big portions enough to eat and take home and the price is reasonable. I ordered fish(pescado a la macho) it was amazing!!! I will go back during a less hectic day to try other dishes.

The food was great, very busy. Unfortunately I came here with 2 of my other friends and split the bill 3 ways by cards and tip cash. Apparently they swipe all cards twice for different amounts. Had to go from far away back to restaurant because they do not pick up phone. Just so our waitress pulls out soo many recipes from transactions she screwed hope hopping no one finds out. WTF?

The place is more like a mom and pop style Resturant . The place is not fancy however it’s clean. I went on a late Tuesday night so I didn’t have to wait long for a table — Their servers are very attentive. They don’t sell alcohol so no cold coronas with your meal. They do have sodas, water(if u ask for it), juices. However, I believe the place is BYOB . My dish was pretty large, called«el pobre » Which comes with French fries, two fried eggs over white rice, tomato & lettuce and nice large slice of steak . In addition, they place on the table a yellow sauce(which I put on my steak) The yellow sauce taste really good if you love spicy sauce(this wasn’t too spicy) — to me it seem it had cilantro, green pepper, jalapeño, onion and some other stuff I can’t tell however it’s a nice sauce I even used it to dip my French fries hahah (I love spicy stuff) The white rice was so fresh & good The meat had so much flavor, moist and not dry The French fries were crispy and not oily And they have nice portion of flan and other deserts Over all the food and the service is great but not for a first date.

My favorite place to go for Pescado a Lo Macho! I order it every time I go! I moved over 100 miles away and keep coming back. The Ceviche is one of my favorite too. Great portions and great food. You wouldn’t expect such high quality food when you first walk in because of their hole in the wall appearance but it’s incredible.

Delicious and affordable! Ceviche was amazing and so was the snapper(it was in a spicy sauce with tomatoes and onions). Portions are HUGE, so be careful not to over-order. We paid with a credit card and the server insisted with tip with cash.

Thee best ceviche in Jersey, bar none. I’ve said enough. Go there now! It’s a hole in the wall and waiting for a table can be quite a hassle. But there is a reason why people keep coming back and that’s because the food is very good. Always fresh and always good. I’ve only had the ceviche and that’s because it was so great!

Food was good although we were worried at first I’m glad we came. Atmosphere is casual so no need to dress up. I got the Ecuadorian salad which was so simple yet SOGOOD. and we got the arroz con mariscos. Also we had the ceviche de pulpo y camaron. Everything was good. Have been back a few times after(forgot about the review and didn’t finish before)

Food was ok, but I think it’s definitely over priced for the quality. Waiter took forever, I had to get up and tell him we were ready to order after over ½ hr wait… Got up again to ask him for out check. No children’s menu, interior not appealing to the eye. They do have a lunch special that comes with the soup of the day and entrée of the day for $ 7-$ 8 bucks. Definitely not going back. I’d rather travel to Union City at «Ceja’s Restaurant» for some Ecuadorian Food.

Good food but not worth the aggrevation. To get a table is a mess. Way too crowded with not to desirable people. The staff have a one track mind. you get much better service at mcdonalds. I place an order for take out. It took 15 minutes before the cook told one of the staff to help me. They said 40 minutes. I left came back still waited another 20 minutes and then another 15 minutes for someone to check me out. Dont bother with it. No one can multitask. No one will ask if they can help you. Totally ridiculous place. The bar is oorn together with the dinning area and the drunks stumble into the dinning area. They had like two 15 year olds cleaning and serving tables at ten at night. Are you serious?

Great place to get the best spanish(Peruvian/Ecuadorian). I go often with my family, friends, and boyfriend. Don’t expect a high end ambiance, go in your sneakers and just be ready to eat. Service is good, at times super busy but there’s always someone running around, so you get their attention. Sunday morning/noons the wait is extremely long. I always get the churassco, bistec a lo pobre, chaufa, or ceviche. So on point!

This place has always been a very dear close to my heart personal favorite of mine ever since I was a little girl. Every dish I’ve had here has always been perfect. Today I ordered for take out, came out perfect! Here’s a list of my MUSTHAVES: Their Ceviche(any style you prefer) Paella The Bistec a lo probre The avocado salad(perfect addition to a meal) AND so are the fried yuca sticks. The seafood is fresh & fantastic everything just perfect in every way I could imagine. This place is my childhood wrapped up in s Resturant style bow. People even come & sing & play some live Spanish music for you(of course for a tip) but it’s always fun to watch & have some entertainment. I just wish they had someone answering the phones more often other than that no complaints! It’s always a #1 suggestion for me.

I’ve always wanted to give this place a try. Always hear they have good& great prices for their amount of food. I came here based on the reviews, basically. I am not sure, if I ordered the wrong entrée? But I didn’t really like my pollo saltado. How can that even be made wrong? It tasted a little strange to me(the chicken) & barely had any French fries. I’m not sure, if I’ll be returning. I’ll probably give it another try. Customer service was good. The waiter was pretty attentive & I can tell it gets pretty busy. It’s nothing fancy, but that’s all I can say for now.

I always order the ceviche and they have two types the Ecuadorian style and the Peruvian style. The way I order is which the lemon and spicy so I believe it’s Ecuadorian. I order with tostones and it is the best ceviche I order point period I have ordered from el Cheverre and it does not compare and it’s just real authentic food at Venus. Also my grandmother has ordered a paella and you basically get a pot to your table which is enough for 3 –4 people. Of course holiday s and weekends this place is packed but flavor is outstanding here. I always order take out. I’m happy all the time I go

I don’t know how people are saying that this place is not cheap! Hi, have you tried going out to buy fresh seafood lately, it’s SUPER expensive! This place gives you great flavor, lots of options, huge portions and will get a steaming plate to your table in under 20 minutes. I’ve had the paella marinera here, which is served in a giant bowl, three of us ate and I still had left overs. The fish soup is amazing, get the small, it’s plenty for seafood, perfect flavor, but will ruin your appetite if you are planning to stuff your face with an entrée. The parrillada de mariscos brings anything and everything in the sea that you would want to eat, just bring a friend to help you roll out of the place and carry your doggy bag. I don’t really recommend the shrimp in garlic sauce, I didn’t love it as I do in Portuguese places. If you don’t want seafood, they have a great option for steak called«poor man’s steak» aka bistec a lo pobre. It brings rice, a fried egg over the steak, fries, beans, all delicious things. I have been coming with my family here for years. It’s definetley not a place where you take someone to impress them on a date. You will see lots of drunk Latino men, small children crying and if you’re lucky one person in the waitstaff will understand English. But if you want to know if this relationship is the real thing, they can handle the ambiance AND your garlic fish breath… because that’s real love.
