Good quality Chinese food. We go there whenever we want a delicious and relaxing dinner. The waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating.

Nothing crazy fancy but never disappointing. Good and tasty, well prepared traditional Chinese food. Friendly service and nice looking restaurant, have had takeout many times but much prefer to dine in and enjoy the food just off the wok. Conveniently by four-corners just off Main St. We keep coming back :-)

Pretty unspectacular Chinese food. Gotten take out from here three times, since it’s open late and delivers… been so severely disappointed that we are going back to our old spot, THREETOWNSOVER. Some items we’ve repeatedly ordered: Pork or chicken lo mein… bland, over-cooked and dry. Steamed veggie dumplings… barely filled, extremely thick dough and almost inedibly gummy. Fried pork dumplings… greasy with very thick dough, but probably the most solid dish we’ve had from this spot. Fried wontons… so over-cooked they’re hard as rocks. Pork fried rice… the only detectable flavor is the stale fry oil that’s it’s been tossed in. Under cooked. Chicken and broccoli… almost no sauce, chicken is fatty and rubbery. General Tso’s chicken… under-cooked, not crispy at all. Very bland. All in all: if you’re drunk(or determined not to leave your house for whatever reason), they’ll deliver and suffice in a pinch. Otherwise, it’s worth it to travel a little ways for better quality.

The staff are very kind and sweet — seems to be run by a family. The food is OK. My biggest criticism is that their«Chinese vegetables» dish consists of regular broccoli, carrot and baby corn. I was surprised they have no bok choy, no Chinese broccoli, no Chinese spinach, no pea greens, no tat soi etc. etc.

When someone greets you when you walk in their restaurant with a big smile and says, ‘welcome friends’ you automatically want to stay and pay for a good meal! The service was impeccable. This is by far the cleanest Chinese food restaurant I have ever been in. They shame most places with their spotless appearance. No sticky menus or language barriers. The tea is delicious! Just Hot enough. Wonton soup was super fresh. The salad was a nice palate cleanser just a fresh bite. Ordered the diet broccoli with chicken and shrimp it was pretty good. Shrimp could have been cooked for 45 more seconds. The waitress was so sweet and accommodating. Clean friendly service and good food. Check it out!

Not the cheapest Chinese food in the area, but consistently good. My office was across the street for several years. I frequented this place at least several times per month. The staff are always pleasant. I’ve eaten in the restaurant for business and with family. Every time has been a good experience. The ambience inside the dining room is decent… definitely nicer than the normal Long Island strip mall Chinese food places.

The food is just okay here, but I like how they have real restaurant space to dine. There is hardly a Chinese restaurant around that isn’t completely take out so this place is different in that way. I miss nice Chinese restaurants with white table cloths and waiters in red jackets. That’s not this place as you’ll only find that in NYC, but at least this place lets you eat in comfortably.

Small, flea-like insect in my soup… it was dead — not sure if that’s a good thing or bad. Otherwise bland food. Maybe more bugs would have added additional flavor?

I love coming here, they have the most friendly staff and the freshest Chinese food I have ever had. Where else can you get a four course meal for under 15 bucks? Try the Orange Beef with pork fried rice!

I order from this restaurant often for takeout and I also eat in on occasion. The food is very fresh and very nicely prepared. Everything has been delicious. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Everyone is very nice, and the service is very good.

I agree with the others that this is the best Chinese Food, albeit a bit higher priced for take-out, in Patchogue. Even though take out is more expensive it is worth it. We go here often and have never been disappointed. Be sure to ask about the Fuzhou Mai fun(Okay, I’m sure I misspelled that). It used to be only on a special menu but now they make it all the time. You may have to ask for it. It is home-style Chinese cooking, or as the hostess says, «like we would have at home.» My wife is partial to the shrimp version, I like the pork. I know that they take some flack for being low staffed but there is seating for no more than Forty here so they don’t need a lot of help. They are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Yes, there is sometimes a language barrier but we are always patient with them and they are with us! Again, try something special, not just the average American-idea of what Chinese cooking is like. You’ll be satisfied.

Went here after seeing the reviews. We just moved to the area and are looking for a good Chinese restaurant. This is not it. My bf liked his food and the crab ragoon was standard. But I got the General Tso, It was just bland fried chicken, the sauce was so watered down it didn’t stick to the chicken and had absolutely no flavor at all.

Been there a couple of times. It doesn’t really shine. They have limited staff, we stopped in to order take-out, so we were able to observe what was going on for about 20 mins. The women in the front is the hostess, waitress, bar tender, cashier, bus, and answers the phone, Oh, she has her young son hanging out there too, so she’s also being a mom, ALLATTHESAMETIME. This creates some challenges in the service area. We frequently heard yelling and arguing coming from the Kitchen. They obviously have communication issues. Regarding communication: Language can become an issue if you ask a non standard question. Example, «What are your gluten free entrees?» Answer: «Everything contains gluten.» Us, «Even the fried rice?» Answer, «Yes, sorry.» My wife is allergic to gluten. We were disappointed to hear this. I’m still looking for the authentic Chinese experience in Suffolk Co.

We had a great experience here! Literally walked in on a whim knowing nothing about it when my husband was playing music down the block and we had an hour to kill until he started, and we were hungry. The waitress and host girl were soo very nice and very accommodating to our vegetarian needs. They went very above and beyond making sure we had a good choice of options to choose from, and were just so overly nice and helpful! Food: delicious. From the soup, to rice, to salad, to tofu, to veggies they did it all! The portions weren’t very large, so we didn’t have any leftovers to take home but we left satisfied /full. Great prices. Great place.

We love this place. It’s the only Chinese food we order. We have been using the Dragon Restaurant as our delivery Chinese food. They deliver promptly which gives them the 5th star. Not only do they deliver, but the food is excellent. We always order some shrimp dish and the shrimp is cooked perfectly. I like the chicken and broccoli too. Broccoli is never over-cooked. Shrimp egg rolls are perfect too, not too greasy. Wonton soup has so many wontons, it could be a meal in itself. We usually save some for the next day. The order is delivered to our door in ½ hour. The food is hot and delicious. We order for two people but have enough food for another dinner and sometimes a dinner and lunch. Definitely try them! Hope that helps!

Like Gen. Mc Arthur, I did return. Was a little disappointed. It has morphed into a run of the mill so-so restaurant. There was only one server for a full Sat night dinner service and the result was spotty service. There was no longer a special dish menu, so it was just the regular stuff, and that was a little expensive for what you got. I ordered a dish that was supposed to be spicy and it was amazingly bland. My dining companion’s hit the nail on the head: «this place is no better than most take out places. With all the great restaurants in the area, probably will not return.

This place changed hands again. Different people are working here. Still no liquor license if you’re going to dine in. Now its called Dragon Palace. The food is good, but service has pretty much shit the bed. I recently went to pick up a take-out order and arrived in twenty five minutes as they asked. They were really backed up, being told«a few more minutes.» I waited around in the doorway for another twenty-five minutes before they realized they never put my order in. Had them checking their caller ID’s and menu sheets. Close to an hour’s wait and I left with no food, though in all fairness, they offered to make it up for me if I gave them another ten minutes, and when I refused, offered to deliver it to my house, though this seemed to be more about getting my money than satisfying a steady customer. I would let it slide, but I had gotten burned here with the wait another time previous, and I am a former yearbook member. Getting weaker.

Based on Robert L’s reviews(Thanks Robert!) and the sheer brightness of the eatery I had to try the food. Upon entry you will notice the super friendly staff. Inside is clean, super clean. It’s an open airy layout yet still cozy. I opted for takeout and yes they pack it well. The Menu’s a couple dollars more than your average takeout but well worth it. The food is seriously amazing. The oil used to cook the food is not overpowering and allows everything in the pork fried rice to have its own flavor. They have a crab Rangoon they refer to as «Fortune Cheese Wonton.» These tasty artery cloggers are giant deep fried triangles of cream cheese and crab meat. They are bigger than a Wonton; more of a smaller empanada. If you like the Crab Rangoon I highly recommend these bad boys. The pork egg roll was a little peppery they are made a little different than how I like them prepared but still good. I went with the Boneless spare rib dinner. My entrée was a huge portion, Great marinade, a good quality meat. Shang Shui really raises the bar on Chinese food in the area. I kinda feel like all bets are off on my other favorites out here. I can’t wait to dine in with Wifey. Shang Shui will not disappoint and I’d go as far to say it’s a destination spot for China.
