Clean like always however check and double check expiration dates of vending products. I found over half past best before dates. Some over a month old so freshness could be a question. It seems that Il Dept. of Human Services Business for blind does all the stocking of rest areas but this one seems to not be checked often as opposed to other interstate rest areas in Il.

This rest area is good enough. The sink water temp is generally cold and cannot be adjusted. For your roadside resting pleasure there is playground equipment, picnic tables and shelters and vending machines including coffee. There is a pay phone and an emergency police phone. There’s also a huge emerald ash borer replica. No travel brochures but there is a state map on display.

Terrific place to take a break from the MONOTONY of driving I-39. Vending machines with coffee, snacks, soft drinks, water, as well as clean restrooms, and covered picnic benches are here for the using… So stretch your legs, eat a snack, walk your dog(dogs, they need a break from boredom too), or take a nap until your ready to get back on and go…

Wow the stretch on 39 from LaSalle to Rockford is borrrrrinnngggg! I mean, come on Illinois?! Give me SOMETHING other than those stupid windmills in Paw Paw. Thank God for the Willow Creek Rest Area– clean, well stocked potties, and a nice selection of snack-a-doodles from the machines! It’s a great place for man and man’s best friend to stretch their legs. Yeeha!

This place is always windy, but is easy to get into out of the cold or rain when you need to. It’s always warm in the winter and cool in the summer and has easy access to refreshments and bathrooms. Just what you need in a rest stop.

Driving north from Peoria this is always my go-to rest area. It’s only a couple of miles past the toll, and is a nice place to stretch your legs. Fairly modern and decently clean.

This rest area is similar to the one on the other side, with both having large, clean stalls. I always feel safe and comfortable stopping here, no matter what time it is. Vending machines, water fountains, lots of picnic benches and space to run the dog(or kids!), round out the place to make a good stopping point for any kind of road trip.

The Willow Creek Rest Area is off of Interstate 39 North in Illinois. Very modern rest area — clean, well maintained, well laid out. The men’s restroom uses the very large ceramic tiles — modern look and easy to maintain and clean. Maps, vending machines, grassy areas, benches, picnic tables all available here.
