Wow, where to begin. First off if I could give this company a 0 star rating I would. So me and my girlfriend showed up to this dealership, looking for a car we saw online we came across another car that was in way better shape new tires and John said it had a new engine and he’d give us a good deal, told is he was selling it for 4500 originally and in the end we ended up paying the same price as he originally said it was not below so no great deal there, I noticed the windshield wipers were missing and he claimed they were stolen, also noticed part of the headlights on both sides were missing also. So he said he’d replace them so I said fine, when I was buying the car I said I needed it before Tuesday because that’s when I had to return my rental otherwise I’d be without a car and mind you I was buying it Thursday so there was more than enough time for him to get it to me, he said he’d have it to me by Saturday, Saturday came and went and he still hadn’t brought it to me, excuses about snow and what not then Sunday and Monday came and Monday it was clear as day and he said he would have it there no matter what and I still was angry because that left me little to no time to register it or anything, as the end of the day came he said he didn’t have anyone to follow him so he wouldn’t have a ride back up to Rhode Island… how much more unprofessional could you be? He actually asked me to give him a ride back to his dealership! You have a car dealership and your telling me you don’t have a flat bed to bring cars to people? I’m currently still waiting for my car and it’s Tuesday and he tells me this morning something was messed up with the tailpipe and thay he was going to put a new one on… I regret so much about going to this joke of a car dealer, the only reason why I even bought a car this quick is that I had to have a car as soon as possible and this was the ONLY place I could find a car within my budget to buy outright. I regret most that I didn’t think to check Unilocal for reviews otherwise I would’ve stuck with being car less. Please take my advice along with every other persons review and steer clear of this place.

Alright so once I thought I was done dealing with this guy. We tried to call on the warrantee he sold us (which he was suppose to activate in 30 days from the purchase date 11/​20/​2013) the warrantee company tells us thy have no information and they do not warrantee saab’s… Surprise surprise $ 950 paid for what? So recently 7 months later I had to take him in front of the licensing board to resolve this matter. The owner claimed he could not speak English and barely spoke during the hearing. We resolved our issues but in the end I am out 8 months of fighting this guy and paying out of pocket for repairs that should have been covered. Bottom line is I am out a warrantee and lots of time and money dealing with this company. I did not take the warning from the woman at the bank who advised not to do business with him. Please take my warning and go somewhere else.

Kim, the owner of John’s Motor Group, sold me a car. He swore up and down this car was in excellent condition and needed nothing. He quoted me a price, I countered and was told my offer was accepted. When I returned with the agreed upon counter offer money, he then told me he couldn’t accept the offer because the car was not actually his and the person who owned the car wanted the full price. Additionally, he showed me a piece of paper reflecting a $ 65.00 doc fee which he explained the person he was selling the car for was responsible to pay and I had only to pay for inspection cost. Then he recants and suggests that if the car owner don’t pay the 65., I will have to and tells me 3 times that when I return to bring 105. just in case the owner don’t come pay the 65. docking fees. Upon returning per his call to inform me car is inspected and come pick up the car, When I arrive to pick up the car, he denied telling me 65. doc fees, that I now owe him $ 95.00 plus another $ 40.00. He changed the docking fees from 65. to 95., and now I have to pay it and inspection cost that was inflated in a matter of hours. This guy has changed his story several times.
I drove the car two blocks to my home. I awoke the next morning to a huge puddle of oil and antifreeze under the car. I called Kim, he said he was very surprised, no problem, bring it in, he would make it right.
Upon returning the car, he then changes his story again. He tells me he cannot fix it, but that he would have his mechanic look at it and tell me what is wrong. Mechanic tells me it is a minor oil pan leak and is an easy fix but that he cannot fix it due to issues with the lift.
I took the car to my own mechanic to discover a rear main seal leak, a front main seal leak, no emergency brake (which should have shown up in a legal inspection) and a questionable rear end. My mechanic further explained to me that it is illegal for a dealer in RI to charge me for a sticker.
While in his office, 2 very large men came in with a problem. Kim made a big show of his ability to physically deal with them. He said things like he was a martial arts person and challenged these huge men to step outside with him. The men showed fear and quickly left. As I think back, I realize this was a show put on for my behalf to encourage/​intimidate me if I planned to come back. Further attempts to resolve this matter in a mutually satisfactory manner were met with crude remarks, threats and dismissal. Bottom line. I own a car that costs of repairs far exceed cars true value. (total estimated repairs cost of 3800 – 4500) in addition to the thousands he charged me for the car.
To summarize: this guy lied to me, misrepresented the car and he clearly rigged things to temporarily disguise the major issues. Took my hard earned monies that I saved up for 2 years to buy a car with. I now own a car that all I can do is sit in it and listen to the radio (sometimes, because even the radio has issues coming on and off by itself).
