North Shore Taxi

Called to get a quote. From peabody to lynn. Dispatcher said $ 19 asked to get a 535p pick up the dispatcher said i needed to call 45 minutes ahead of being picked up and hung up. Call took place at 405p. Tried calling at 450p no answer. Definitely the worst taxi service ever.

Unreal. Asked for a mini van or SUV to take us (2 adults and 2 car seats) to Logan airport. Scheduled and confirmed ahead of time. They sent a dinky little car instead, and were way too late in sending the right size vehicle. We now have to pay $ 300 in airport parking because of these assholes. Never ever again. I will be sharing this experience on every north shore group I am part of on Facebook, totaling ~10k people. And the kicker was when I called to yell at them, the guy didn’t even say sorry and then freaking hung up on me!!! Very disappointed.

Booked a 3:30am ride to Logan via the app, got a phone call to confirm a day or two before, then had a very courteous and pleasant driver arrive a few minutes early to help us load our bags into the car. Excellent service, I’ll definitely be using again.

I booked a ride to the airport on the app a few days before my flight. Fifteen minutes before my scheduled pick-​up, I was called and told they were overbooked and would not be able to accommodate me. I tried the company again and this morning was called at the time of pick-​up only to be informed that my ride would be late. Being late does not work when you are trying to get to the airport during morning rush hour traffic. I will not be using North Shore Taxi again.

Easy booking online, fare was reasonable, they called me the night before to confirm, and the car arrived on time. That totals to 5 stars already.
But, to make this experience Boston, I think I had a driver who came right from Central Casting. I was so charmed by the iconic experience that I failed to get his name, but he checked all the boxes of what I want in a cab driver. He had this snarling kindness while he groused about the rain, other drivers, and traffic. In between his grousing, he asked me questions and shared little glimpses of his life. Retired military is enough to make me love you, but worrying about your teenage son walking in the rain made you human. It could have been just another cab ride, but this was an experience!

I went on a walking adventure and was too tired to make the return trip. After talking to the dispatcher, I was uncertain whether I would in fact get a taxi. (He was a gruff mumbler.)
That said, a taxi showed up promptly. Car was clean, driver was polite, fare was reasonable. Would use again.

Michael was fantastic. Was early, called and when my daughter left her phone at hotel, he was awesome and we got it back no problem.

We liked these guys. They showed up on time to take us to Logan. When we returned from our trip, they were right there waiting for us (we gave them our flight info in advance). And the $ 35 seemed reasonable seeing as how other car services charge $ 55 or more.

This place is no good anymore. They are constantly late or no shows from airport pickups if they are even available. The dispatch puts you in hold every time you call. I have no idea how they will compete against Über.

I wish I could give them NO star !! My husband and I have used this service for the past two years and were quite happy with them. until TODAY !! We travel back and forth to L.A., EACH of us 4 – 6 times a year. Today, asking for a 4p pick up for a 5:45 flight, having no one even show UP or call, meeting somewhere along the way (how lame is that?) caused him to miss his flight, rebook for a $ 150 charge and the price of a hotel in a connecting city, another $ 200. Isn’t the whole purpose of a car service to be on time and get you to your destination? It’s not like we were going to the laundromat. Don’t use them. UBER !!!

When the trains weren’t running correctly this winter, I had to get into Boston at 6:30am for work. I called in for a cab the night before, $ 35 from Salem to Boston (not bad!). The driver arrived just on time, was very friendly, and was nice enough to offer to stop for coffee along the way. He got me into the city very quickly and with no problems at all, despite the roads still being in poor condition with the snow.
Later, I realized I had forgotten to take a receipt to get reimbursed by my employer. I called the dispatch, and within five minutes they emailed my employer with the necessary information for my ride.
All in all, really great service. If I need a cab in the future they will definitely be my first choice.

Yeah f this taxi service, I called an hour in advance to get a ride from the SSU campus to the train (a 6 minute drive) and wound up having to walk around campus for 5 minutes looking for the driver and then getting picked up 4 minutes before my train departed, needless to say I missed the train causing me to miss my bus back to NY. No apology, still had to pay full price. F these guys.

This is such an easy review to write, because earlier today I had a nightmare of an experience with Americab so the decision made itself to NEVER use them again. However, after my appt. in Peabody, I needed a ride back to Salem. I had no idea who to call (if I use a cab twice a year that’s a lot,)so basically one was as good or bad as the other. I called No. Shore. The driver arrived exactly on time, was as kind and pleasant as you could hope for in a driver. During the short ride I dumped the name & no. from this mornings wreck of a company out of my cell phone, & replaced all the info with that of No. Shore Cab. A little restoration of faith — thanks very much, North Shore!

If you get in a North Shore Taxi, you are literally risking your life.
This is NOT the first time I am complaining about North Shore Taxi.
Do not get in a North Shore Taxi… there is a good chance you will die in one of their vehicles. Try Über or just take a bus. Don’t risk your life with these assholes.
My wife and I have had over five bad experiences regarding this company.
Most recently, a North Shore Taxi completely ignored a stop sign near an off ramp of Interstate 95 and almost caused my wife and I to slide on the ice and either run into another car or drive straight into a snow bank.
When I had the right of way, they simply accelerated in front of us, ignoring the rules of the road, and rolled through the icy and snowy terrain.
The North Shore Taxi drivers to whatever they want on the road. They seem to think they are police officers. They are not. They are a complete menace to society.
They clog up the roadways with their selfish driving. If you are simply driving around the north shore… WATCH OUT for these assholes. They will ruin your day if you get near them.
Once, when my wife and I were ignorant and stupid, we asked for North Shore to pick us up for an important event in Boston.
They showed up 30 minutes late to pick us up. When we showed our frustration, the driver threatened to call the cops on US because we were complaining! As if we did something wrong!
This post not a joke. The driver almost called the police because we complained that they ruined our plans for a Saturday night.
Throughout the city of Peabody, the North Shore Taxi drivers are complete jerks. I am ready and willing to talk to anyone who disagrees.

North Shore Taxi should offer the entire North Shore Community an apology for their unacceptable behavior… ESPECIALLY during the course of the most recent snow storms.

Just to follow up — NS Taxi did reach out in mid-​December and offered to compensate me for the return trip I wrote about in my initial review. I did send my receipt back in July after our initial exchange but it must have never arrived. I just received a check after for twice the amount for the return ride plus some gift certificates for future cab rides. The owner also included an apology note and an explanation of steps they have taken to correct the customer service and their internal Logan pickup policies.
I’m rating this exchange separately from my initial review. I stand by what I said in my one star review because all of that did happen and at the time it really sucked.
All that said, not many companies go this far out of their way to try to make a bad situation right. I had written this whole situation off as a lesson learned and hadn’t even thought about the money in quite some time. It was a pleasant surprise to receive such an olive branch especially at this time of the year.
I honestly don’t know if we will try using NS Taxi in the future (possibly to Logan but not from because that part wasn’t bad) but I do think it is only fair to call out the good in just as much detail as it is to complain about the bad.

Had a terrible experience with North Shore Taxi. Made a reservation a month in advance, called multiple times to confirm, and was blown off the night of without so much as an apology. Very disappointed in the service and as a new resident of the area will take my business elsewhere.

Very sketchy — no fare meter — driver says he wrote down the mileage — according to Google Maps, he said it was 25% more than the actual mileage — called dispatcher and dispatcher indicated the fare would be 2X the normal fare for the same trip I have taken multiple times. When I disputed the mileage and charge, the driver became belligerent (Plate 23 305 I think) and wouldn’t let me out of the car — he kept the doors locked. I called the police, then he let me out.

Very strange price policy. Sometimes for few miles you have to Pay 16 $, because of different zones. Example: from Hotel at 238 Andover St, Danvers till Peabody Logan Express: 16 $. If you check the distance, this is about 3 Miles.

Needed a taxi this week so I called to make reservations for Thursday morning. The price I was quoted on the phone was the price I was told when I was picked up and dropped off. No matter what day of the week early or late you can always count on them to pick you up on time.
