I don’t know how to mark them as a zero but they definitely don’t get this 1. I used this company over a year ago. Do not trust them! They are liars. They broke my bed frame during the move and wasn’t going to tell me. There was one honest worker out of the group of 6 who pointed it out, so I could claim it. I talked to the brother who was in charge of the move he assured me they would get it fixed right away. I had to keep calling them on a status. I couldn’t get my bed fixed or that would void out the claim. I slept on the floor 6 months because I couldn’t use my bed. They kept telling me they would get someone out. I filled out the claim paperwork had it certified mail sent and David said he never received it. I got the receipt for the certified mail and it was his signature. I went to their office and had to wait for 30 minutes for the owners to arrive. I was told I had to resubmit the claim. I did and nothing happened. They supposedly had someone scheduled to fix it, the guy never showed. I called time and time again to get nothing but lies. I finally had to pay out of pocket to get what they damaged fixed. This company by far is the worst moving company I have ever used! I would not use them again if they were the last moving company on Oahu. They should be banned from military installations. They are using veteran owned to draw you in because I don’t know one Veteran that would treat military members this way. No respect!

I was on deployment and was assured that Aloha Moving would take care of my family and their move while I was gone. Not only were they extremely rude but they damaged all of my furniture. They lost parts to my bed so we were unable to properly put it back together. They over charged, the movers were careless and rude. DO NOT recommend them at all.

The follow up to this experience is that I did not let up on phoning this company until they agreed to pay our money back. On a rainy Monday, my husband & I made our way to their office & spoke directly to Adam. He knew why we were there & he handed over $ 50 cash which he took out of his car. This was a lesson well learned by us. Let what we went through be a heads up for you. Merry Christmas everyone!

This company should not be in business any longer. Not only were they unprepared with equipment to move the exercise equipment I had hired them to move, the owner David flat out lied about taking purchase orders. I had made it very clear in the beginning that my school would be paying for the move and we had to use a PO. He was very understanding and accommodating at the time, and even filled out all the paperwork to become an approved vendor for our school. So after explaining how the PO system worked, it was my understanding that he was accepting those terms and would comply. I was initially hesitant to use a local moving company out here because of some of the awful stories I have heard, but we were in a crunch to get a donation moved to my school and he sounded very helpful.
The movers did show up on time, and they were very friendly and understanding. Their office manager told them it was only some weights and things so they came very unprepared to lift heavy equipment. Not only did my boyfriend and 2 other guys on the street watching have to help load some of the equipment, but I had to have students from my school come help to unload as well.
Once the move was made, they stated they needed a payment on day of. This was a shock to me since David agreed to take my PO. Since I didn’t have the PO that day, they said they could take my credit card and just put a hold on it, not actually charging it, until they received the PO number. Well, they lied again. Not only was my credit card charged, but I am still currently waiting for over $ 1,200 to be reimbursed on my card. I called weekly, checking about my reimbursement, in which David avoided me repeatedly, and their office manager Eric, lied about refunding the money 3 times. The best part of it all was when I finally got a hold of David myself, he said he does not accept PO’s and he needs money day of, so this was all my fault. He had already paid the movers and there was nothing he could do until he got the check from my school. After my billing office sent out the check, he waited days before cashing it and then a few more day to put through my refund. I still haven’t received it and when I questioned him again he hung up on me. After doing some research, their ACCREDITATION with the Better Business Bureau has been REVOKED for many reasons. Not only is the company unprofessional, they are incredibly rude. I would never work with them again.

This nightmare started when I called to set up the move… I spoke with Adam who promptly booked me for an afternoon move the following day, I gave a 50 $ deposit to hold the time block, and started packing up my things. The next day, the truck never showed up. I call them to see what’s going on, and he informs me that the truck was in an accident and they could reschedule for first thing the next morning. THIS IS THE SAME EXCUSE FOR NOT SHOWING UP AS INDICATED BY MULTIPLE OTHER REVIEWS. Apparently, first thing next morning meant 1:30 PM!
The 3 man moving team was horrible, with the most senior member having only one month experience and all looking and acting very unprofessional. The «senior» man quoted me 8 or 9 hours for a 3 hour job. I was in awe, especially when I was told about a mandatory «travel charge» that was an hour extra to the move. Once we got to my new location, he called his boss and told him the job should only take about 4 hours, but his boss made him quote is for 6 hours and charged us for 6 hours anyways (with a refund for less time used which hasn’t been received) ! And they claimed that if we didn’t pay they would keep all of our belongings in their storage facility. THIS IS THEFT! Many of our things were damaged during the unload as they were so inexperienced with moving furniture into the house. To speed things along I ended up having them leave most of the stuff in the garage.
During the move, we were also charged for the travel time in addition to the «one time» travel fee, and also the 3 or 4 smoke breaks they took which equated to about an hour of time. We still haven’t even received a receipt!
This business claims to be military owned and operated, but the owner must have received a dishonorable discharge because this is NOT how the military operates and this business does a DISSERVICE to the military and veterans alike.
I will be doing everything in my power to black list this company from all military installations on Oahu, as well as placing a hold on this charge through my bank until the receipt, reduced charge, and apology are received.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS THIEVING, DECEITFUL «BUSINESS»

A terrible experience in almost every way. I can’t even list all the problems but here are a few.
When the movers arrived they said they couldn’t move me because one of them was allergic to cats and I would have to wait for a new crew. The office manager was supposed to make sure they were not sent to places with a cat.
The new crew did not arrive for 3 hours and came right off of another big move so they were very tired. The movers, themselves did the best they could but did not wrap or protect my furniture in any way. They put tape directly on the wood to hold the drawers in and when the tape was removed it caused some damage to the surfaces. The pictures posted here are nothing like what I experienced.
Because we were running so late, the elevators in my new building could not be locked out which caused a lot of extra time and work. Also, the truck was so big that it could not be parked very near to my buildings at either end of the move. I estimate that these things plus other problems added an extra hour to the time it should have taken.
In the end, I was charged for 1 hour more than the move actually took. It was listed as travel time although I had been told there were no extra fees for travel time. I was so tired I didn’t notice when I paid the bill at the end of the move.
I contacted the owner who emailed me that the company was not bound in any way to show up at a certain time. He took no responsibility for all the extra move time caused by the delayed start but agreed to refund me $ 120 because I was unhappy with the move. He never send the check and never answered my emails after that point.
I have filed a complaint with the Public Utilities Commission who told me they are dealing with multiple complaints about this company. I don’t expect to ever see any refund and I wouldn’t be surprised if they go out of business any day.

I am very pleased with the service William March, Michael kunewa, and lase soosenuu provided for aloha family moving and storage. I think people do have to realize we’re in hawaii not the mainland and if you’re paying to move you weren’t willing to suffer it through with a uhaul and friends so ease up. The guys were very personable and pushed it through to the end which was a narrow stairway up to the 3^rd floor. I wanted professionals and my husband and I or friends would have never managed to get the washer and dryer up. Turns out the stairway was too narrow and twisted but they made it happen regardless of the pain. My advice is pack your own stuff, down size, and decide what you want them to move vice what you can do with a uhaul and friends. Hiring professionals and their supplies is expensive and you can get free boxes from Craigslist, gotta be quick though. There’s a lot of ways to get free boxes. If you had negative stars I would rate them negative! 3 guys showed up and did not have a clue about moving! My boyfriend caught them attempting to tape cardboard down 22 stairs and were going to attempt to slide expensive and heavy furniture down these stairs. When the onsite superviser agreed with my boyfriend that it was not a good idea, he revealed to my boyfriend that these guys had no training. My boyfriend was still charged for all the time they took to set up and undo that ridiculous idea. Even though the onsite supervisor agreed with my boyfriend that he was correct. The owner of the company at th shop told the supervisor by phone not to release my boyfriend’s furniture until the fee was paid. The fee was outrageous! On top of everything, the furniture was severely damaged and some without repair. Today my boyfriend went to open the door of one of the armoirs that they moved and completely fell off injuring my boyfriend’s foot! This company is the most unprofessional and deceptive company we ever had to deal with!

I am happy to write a very positive review for Aloha Family Moving and Storage. My experience, unlike others reviewing here, was satisfying and served our needs perfectly.
We needed to empty our home of about ²⁄₃ of our belongings which included all the furniture, and 20 boxes of personal items (which we packed ourselves). I arranged for their services to move the above belongings to their storage facility for a period of less than a month. On the day of the wrapping (all the furniture was excellently wrapped with large padded wrapping paper that I purchased out in Campbell Park at a very reasonable cost), and hauling the belongings to storage. On the day of the move Dave called to apologize but that due to another person’s inability to close on a home he was unable to provide storage for us. But, he said he’d locate an alternate, nearby location. That nearby location couldn’t accommodate our load either but the Kaneohe Public Storage helper recommended, and called, Public Storage in Kaimuki, where we ended up renting a storage unit. The blessing of that was Public Storage had a special for $ 1 for the first month!
I think our success with having no damage was that I did two things: I told the three men that they were taking possessions that we highly valued and that I expected great care, especially with the furniture. Secondly, I was present the whole time they wrapped and loaded the truck. The men were thorough and careful as I had hoped.
I hired them to return our belongings when our construction job was finished. The two men who came were, again, friendly, efficient, and took effort to be careful (as I, again requested). Like the first three employees, they took a reasonable break and were thankful for the cold drinks and water we offered.
I should add that the total cost for the move was a surprise. That is, when you hear the charges mentioned on the phone it is easy to think on the low side. I am not complaining; I was nevertheless surprised. And, if you use a credit card to pay, there is a charge for that which I didn’t know about.
Employees to say mahalo to are Tony, Clifton, Angel, Kevin, and a third man whose name escapes me.
I would hire them again but, frankly, I hope to never need to go through the stressful situation we had with the water damage to the house. But, on a local move to another home, I’d definitely give them another opportunity.

Terrible experience and very unprofessional. They arrived late no call or explanation given. They spent more time taking breaks and drinking water we gave them which they ended up throwing in our yard. Just to extend the time because they get paid hourly. A leg on our dresser broke because it was dragged down our stairs and when asked about it we were told we had to pay now in full before they took our furniture off the truck and file a claim later. I called and emailed but have yet to hear from anyone. I had to sign a bunch of papers before they started and when asked where my copies were i was told it would be forwarded to my email and have not received anything.

If you are looking for a moving company that does not take responsibility for damages they cause, then look no further! This is definitely the company for you. My roommate used this company a few months back, so I initially had nothing to do with them coming in and moving his stuff. Well, after they finished, I came home and noticed damages to my bedroom door. My roommate said they caused the damages when they were moving his stuff. I asked if they were going to pay for the damages, but he was told that Aloha Family Moving were not responsible for damages caused during the move. Are you kidding me?! So you mean to tell me a moving company hired to move household items was not going to pay for damages they caused?! Must be nice to get paid to come in and tear people’s houses up and not have to worry about paying for damages. Honestly, the door damage was not really that big of an issue. More of a shock to hear they wouldn’t pay for damages they caused.
However, here’s the real kicker. While they were moving my roommates items, my motorcycle somehow was knocked over and damaged. My roommate had all of his items on one side of the garage, so there was no reason for the movers to be anywhere near my motorcycle in the first place. I noticed the side of my motorcycle was scratched up, damage to my frame slider, the clutch handle was chipped, and there was a crack to one of the components that ended up in oil being leaked out of the damaged part. Here I am with a damaged motorcycle, scratches all over the side it was dropped on, and they never bothered telling my roommate they knocked it over! How irresponsible can a company be? I told my roommate he needed to take care of this. He said he spoke to David, who is supposed to be a manager or something, and was told by David that he would take care of the problem. Well, here it is two months later and I still have a damaged motorcycle. When I asked my roommate as to the progress on getting it fixed, he said David stopped responding. I’m guessing if he stops responding, then maybe we’ll forget about the damages and call it a day right?
I don’t expect this company to own up to the damages they caused, and I’m definitely not holding my breath on hopes they will pay for the damages their movers caused. From the reviews I’ve read, this company takes no responsibility for damages they cause. I’m writing this review in hopes that potential customers will reconsider and find a different company. A company that won’t own up to their mistakes is definitely not a company that should be doing business. My roommate and I are both active duty military, so if this is how Aloha Family Movers treats military members, I could only imagine how they treat the rest of the population, or perhaps they just discriminate against military, since most of the negative reviews I’ve read have been by military members.

Is it possible to give this company a negative rating? I would, if I could. He emails, I tell him to call at 4pm but instead calls 3 hours earlier. He asked me where I’m moving to, I told him the place. He told me an inspector was gonna go to my place at 2pm on Thursday to estimate the cost. I waited for the inspector. At 2:30pm, I called the office and they said that the inspector had a minor bumper accident. I said I would have appreciated a call. Eric, the office guy, apologized. We rescheduled to Friday at 3pm. At 3:10pm, I called because again, inspector was not around. Eric answers and tries to reach inspector but cannot. He said he’ll call me back when he has talked to the inspector. He calls me back and asks me where I’ll be shipping my stuff. I told him the place AGAIN. And then, he tells me that they don’t do international shipping. WHAT THE F*CK!!!

Waited all day for them to show up; had all my stuff packed outside. No show. Similar to when I was waiting for the ‘estimate’ (also a no show). This was my only weekend out of cycle I had available to move, and they wasted the whole thing. Couldn’t be less satisfied. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to call and let me know they were cancelling.

I’ve noticed that David is very defensive when it comes to customer complaints. That looks really bad for yourself as well as your company. You guys need to take responsibility for your unprofessionalism! I have had friends request recommendations for movers in Oahu and before I can even recommend NOT using Your company they tell me they have already seen or heard several bad reviews. So it’s not just us Unilocalers that are having problems with you guys!

If I could give a negative star rating I would… do not use this company… do not use this company… I had a confirmed move on saturday and they did not show up or call… I tried to call at least 20 times and they never returned my calls… david sounds like a nice guy on the phone but he is a liar and a crook. do not use this company
SO I WAS TOLD THEIR DRIVER WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND LUCKILY HE WAS NOT SERIUOSLY INJURED… BUT STILL DOES NOT EXCUSE NOT CALLING ME UNTIL TUESDAY WHEN MY APPT WAS ON SATURDAY.

Horrible !!! They broke my computer desk, lost part of a small kitchen microwave stand which I physically saw them put then in their truck and one of their movers dropped 3 boxes off of her had truck right in front of my mom and I and broke some of our kitchen dishes! They will offer to pay you 30 cents per hundred pounds that they damage wow! Made my move a horrific experience! Do not use them unless you want broken stuff.

We had everything packed and ready to go. They were supposed to come in, move it out, and wrap the large things like the bed frame, TV, and other scratch-​able furniture. They showed up over an hour late. Over the phone they estimated it would take 2 hours. It ended up taking 5 hours with 3 guys. We paid out the nose for their services. They didn’t tell us that there was an obligatory 1 hour charge just for their travel time.
In the end, they kept a case of water that I know they packed because I carried it down to the truck for them in an effort to speed them along and we also are missing a body board. Sure, I looked inside the truck to verify it was empty, but I didn’t jump up there and rummage through the blankets all over the floor. Loss was cheap enough I didn’t worry about it. Overall, the whole experience left a very bad taste in my mouth for professional movers and a huge dent in my wallet: $ 750!

and Brandon did a excellent moving job. total cost was $ 325 for 3 hrs of moving. They came in a large moving van they were able to handle stairs and even took off a part of my bed frame to get it through the door and then put it back together perfectly. They are affordable and awesome!

Made an appointment to come and preview for estimate. No show. So I called up their office, and the estimate person told me that their system showed the appointment was for the day after. B.S. And the person I booked the appointment said «so, what do you want us to do?»
Tough luck for you guys. All other companies showed up professionally. You just lost a future customer.

Stay clear away… veterans robbing veterans. The company is not above board with their fees. It took 11.5 hours to move two bunk beds, a king bed set and an office desk… oh yeah, did I mention they were two hours late to start with. The worst part is they didn’t even put the items back together. Brand new set without blemish is not ruined. The team of movers themselves were very professional but their office is terrible. My suggestion, keep looking. I left this transaction feeling like I was robbed.
