Country Fisherman Cafe

We were looking for a new place to try. We came across this place on Unilocal.This was a great place to eat. The service was excellent and personable. The food was fantastic! We were pleasantly surprised with everything. The prices are more than reasonable for the amount of food you get (meat, two veggies, bread, dessert, and drink). It fed our family of four MORE than enough food for under $ 40, including the tip. We will definitely go back!

I am being charitable giving two rather than one star, only because they are new and I feel sorry for them. Located in a dead or dying shopping center in this small rural town off of I-​20.
We were passing through at breakfast time. A lot of old guys, probable fishermen active and retired, were just hanging around the entrance. A pretty scruffy bunch of old, seemingly dirty-​looking men. Off-​putting, but we went in anyway to find a neat, clean, cute café.
Menu was the basic eggs, omelets, pancakes and associated sides for breakfast and sandwiches for lunch. A buffet steam table was there, so assume that it operates for lunch. I had iced tea, wife water. Wife ordered a BLT.
BLT was fine, but the has browns served with it (it was breakfast time) were soggy and mushy. Mine were the same with my bacon and cheese omelet. The omelet was clearly under cooked and when I cut into it there was a mucus-​like liquid coming out, most likely from the partially cooked eggs.
The waitress had been and continued to be very responsive and friendly. She immediately took the omelet back to be re-​cooked or re-​made. It was re-​made and was more cooked, but still wet. I ate around the wettest parts and kissed off the hash browns.
It was a bust for breakfast.
When I checked out the manager on duty asked if all was alright and I just nodded. She reminded me that the omelet was re-​done and I said, yes and it was OK. I just wanted out and did not want to face the old guys inside and outside.
We felt sorry for the waitress and owner who are trying in a poor rural area of Mississippi and hope they get better. That said, forget breakfast. Try lunch instead.
