Pearl Public Library

This is a nice library. It’s got a large variety of books, DVDs, and CDs to choose from… The staff is very friendly and helpful. The library is kept clean and well organized.
We will definitely be back to this library during our future visits to Mississippi.

Wonderful library. It’s new (ish)… the sparkly new shine is still there. They have great hours of operation. They are closed on Sundays, but they have long hours on the other days of the week. That’s a bit odd for me because where I’m from (Jacksonville, FL), they are slowly but surely taking all of the hours away from our libraries.
This is a large, spacious library. They have rooms for meetings and they constantly have things going on for kids and for the community. Make sure to check the boards in the library to see what’s happening.
There are computers for public use, and they have Wifi if you want to bring your own laptop or iPad.
There are many books, movies (DVDs), CDs, and video games available. If there’s something specific you want and it’s not here, ask a librarian; they will gladly look it up to see if it’s at one of the other Rankin County libraries. If it is, they will have it sent here to this library for you and they’ll give you a call when it’s available to pick up. This process generally only takes 48 hours.
The librarians here are so very friendly and helpful… Even to us out-​of-​towners. =) The Rankin County Library System was also kind enough to allow my husband and I to use my parent’s address so we could both get library cards and have full access to everything. When we go to visit, it’s very nice to have full access to the library, especially for our Wifi needs.
Growing up, we lived within walking distance of the Pearl Library. I was there almost daily. That was the old library on the other side of town off of Highway 80 (I’m sure many of you remember it). I loved that library and it’s sad to see it not in use any longer; however, this new Pearl Library is brilliant! I guess all things change with time and this was definitely one great change for Pearl! =)
