Pet Spa & Retreat

I’ve been going to Pet Spa & Retreat for 2 years, for many services. I’ve never been disappointed. Everyone is friendly and they do a great job. They seem to genuinely care about my pets.

Ramzee and Reo walk in like they own the Spa! We are very happy with the ladies there and they talk so lovingly to our boys. We’ve been going there since they opened and will continue to do so. Thank you, David, Amanda, Amanda Marie and Cassandra for great, comforting service!

We went for almost a year for weekly or biweekly baths. The staff was great and very nice. But I feel they were very understaffed. I do not want my dogs staying longer than needed, but staff was too busy to call for a pickup. There was no front desk help and the girls in back were very busy.

Our Yorkie goes weekly for his bath and spa treatments. He is so accustom to going that he runs to the door on Thurs mornings ready to go. My husband tells him he’s going to «Spa Day»!
They keep his toenails trimmed & ears cleaned as well as clipping the hair from his eyes if needed. He’s had several haircuts & they do a good job for a Yorkie cut. They tell us how good he is during grooming & he LOVES the water so we are happy about that. He stays a good 3 – 4 hours due to dad drop off & mom pick up which works perfect for our schedule.
Also we have boarded him 2 times this year & he has been just fine & comes home happy. They took credit card info over the phone for me as we were running late coming home & my daughter picked him up for us.
The staff has always been pleasant & helpful. Sometimes they are in the back and take a minute to come to the front. But hey, you can’t leave a dog unsecured so I never get in a hurry knowing they are working with dogs.

I read online before coming that you could walk in for a nail trim. While I waited, the person in front of me they had lost her leash and they couldn’t figure out which one was her dog. Needless to say I won’t come again. They stated I need appointment for nail trim.

They alway do a great job grooming my pup. But sometimes they are initiative for cleaning.

I called this afternoon to schedule a bath for our dog Charley. We’ve taken our dog here on several occasions and had wonderful experiences. The staff was pleasant and her nails always came out great.
However, when I called today to book an appointment for our dog, the woman who answered the phone regretted to inform me that the owner refuses to groom pit bulls any longer.
Such a policy is truly disappointing and disheartening. Our family is dedicated to supporting local businesses but no longer can do so based on the owner’s policy. A business that is committed to animal care should also be committed to quality care of all animals regardless of breed, not perpetuating stereotypes of pit bulls by refusing service to the breed.
I hope the owner can see past the stigma of pit bulls and keep the business doors open to all pets and their responsible pet owners.

I was hesitant to bring my chihuahua considering the reviews. But I am glad I did because it’s a great place. The staff girls are super friendly, I love the fact my Chi can hang out in the office (where they have little doggie beds) so she can receive attention. They have other rooms where they keep the bigger dogs and they seem clean with toys. I was happy they don’t keep them in little cages!
My Chi came out clean and smelling good with her nails painted pink and a little bow for $ 20:) (price for small dogs) a price no other place can beat. I was so happy I booked another appt for the following week

I’ve never had a problem with this place. They’re close, convenient, and reasonably priced. They’ve always been nice to us and returned my dog with a pretty bandana around her neck, which I love.

I do not recommend anyone to take their dog here. My step-​by-​step experience: 1. Girl working at front desk with two dogs behind the counter rolling around in her desk chair and almost ran over her own chihuahuas leg. 2. Girl behind counter could not figure out how to read what shots my dog has — we had to wait for another girl to come out and read the record which she did within 5 seconds. 3. Groomer came out and asked how to groom my dog. Aren’t you the expert?! 4. I left at 2:30 pm… the store front sign said closes at 5 pm (Saturday) — I did some shopping around that area and when I never heard from them close to 5, I headed back to pick up my sweet pup. 5. When I arrived at the store without them calling me, I was chastised for being early and the groomer was on her phone chilling with the receptionist and said my dog was afraid of the blow dryer so she’s waiting on my dog to dry (And it takes 2 hours for my dog to towel dry?! No it doesn’t!!) 6. While waiting there I suggested to the receptionist that they have chairs or benches in their lobby (as there are no seats for customers) and she replied that dogs take 3 – 4 hours to be groomed and that I showed up too early. Side note — my dog is a 10 pound, small dog! And I asked for a very basic grooming package with only a paw trim — no cut at all! Also, I have had her groomed with the same basics elsewhere and they call me back within 1 hour. 7. While standing and waiting for my dog, I heard the frantic rush of a blow drier on high speed and grooming tools clinking together amongst a dog (my dog?) Unilocaling on occasion. 8. I asked the receptionist why with a basic groom was this taking so long? She responded that since my dog is afraid of blow driers, they had to place her in a kennel that slowly and quietly dries her (…umm, so my dog was basically placed in a «doggy sauna» for 2 hrs!!!) 9. When my dog was finished, we left right away — as soon as we got home, she was so dehydrated that she drank an entire bowl of her water and I noticed that the small trim that they did do, was very choppy looking. Please do not take your dog here! I hope I have saved another dog and owner from this experience by writing this.

I have received private messages from the owner and she has admitted to searching and reading my reviews for other businesses to get more information to try to get more information on me and continue to contact me. I chose not to share my husband’s name (actual customer listed) because we did not want to start receiving phone calls also. After you read the review you will understand why I will not bring my dog back to get corrected.
Review:
We decided to give this place a second chance due to the location and their availability.
Boarding: We were going out of town and needed to board our dogs and we always like to ask for tours of the places we take our pets. We called on a Sunday and were told they couldnt accomodate a tour because they had minimal staff and they were too busy caring for pets. I am not boarding my dog somewhere I cant tour and they were not really implying we could come another time so we found somewhere else in town that is great.
Grooming: Since a groom only involves being there for a few hours we set up an appointment to get our little dog cleaned up. The first groom was just ok — our dog came back pretty uneven but he somewhat resembled the breed. The second groom I picked him up and he was completely shaved down to where you could see pink skin.
Daycare: When we came in the first time we looked in the daycare room and saw lots of dogs with a few accidents on the floor. We did not see a human anywhere. Upon picking up our dog the second visit we found the same thing only this time we did not see a human until after about five minutes I started shouting «hello».
Your dogs are being left unsupervised in a room with other dogs. Granted the dogs may or may not be screened beforehand, if something were to happen no one would know about it until they returned. We saw enough accidents on the floor to prove to us they were being left unattended for extended periods of time. If you are new to doggy daycare, other facilities will stay with your dog and supervise the dogs (cleaning up, breaking up squabbles, play with them, etc). For $ 15−25/day (depending on facility) you should have the peace of mind knowing they are being watched in a room full of dogs you are not familiar with.

First off this shop is great! I brought my Yorkie there for grooming and the haircut turned out great! The playroom is up front and it was full of dogs but clean! The groomer took the time to explain exactly what kind of cut my baby would be getting. The store was very clean, it didn’t even smell like they had dogs there and it was busy with boarding and day care doggies! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall I had a great experience at this store! Definitely would recommend bringing your baby here!

I took my dog there and they were AMAZING! My dogs groom looked fantastic. He’s always excited to go in there. All the people are very friendly. They are very flexible and understanding. They always have lots of specials going on. My FAVORITE and ONLY place to take my dog.
