History

Established in 1927.

Second Baptist Church is one church in five locations serving the spiritual and physical needs of the greater Houston area. Our South Campus in Pearland is the newest of our campuses. Under the leadership of its fifth and current pastor, Dr. Ed Young, the church has grown from 2,000 members to over 54,000 members with an average weekend attendance of over 24,000.

I am all for a house of worship that is open to anyone. Being non denominational, I go to any church that is open and I felt right at home here. Besides, its conviniently located so i have no reason not to go thank the almighty God for all the blessings I have in my life!

First off, this is my FIRST church experience so I have nothing to compare to. But I must say this was a great introduction.
I was born and raised a buddhist but I have recently I have faith in God.
I have been meaning to check out a church but didn’t really know where to start. My co-​worker told me this is where she goes and gave me an open invitation. She wasn’t pushy about it which made me actually want to come.
First of this is not your traditional church since they do not actually have a building. They hold their services in a movie theatre.
It started out with a band that played 2 songs. Then it went into a recording of Ed Young and ended with another song.
The songs were very good and Ed Young is a great speaker. The time went by very fast. I will continue checking this church out probably go to the main campus to listen to Dr. Young live.
