Super friendly. Amazing flavors and variety. Large sizes so you don’t get skimped. The shaved ice is thoroughly saturated in syrup. It’s an amazing experience. Highly recommend.

This place doesn’t deserve the 1&2-star reviews it’s gotten preceding my own. The other reviewers based those on the fact that there is a competing place not far from this one that is admittedly much cheaper in price for essentially the same product type — sno-cones. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying the other place, so I’ll base my review on this one. Bahama Bucks is pretty good IMO. Yes, the cost can be a bit more than one would expect for a sno-cone/shaved ice, but if you keep your eyes open there’s always a coupon handy that will get you 2-for-1, making the price that much more reasonable for people really trying to stretch that buck. But even without the coupon, I think the cost is acceptable considering. This place offers approx. 70 different flavors of shaved ice; you can actually get ice cream added to your order, giving it a definite unique taste and take on the traditional sno-cone; on a hot summer day you have the option of eating *inside* for a break from the heat; the convenience of drive-thru service is available in case you want to quick-stop for a cup; you can order a smoothie or a mixed soda if you’re not feeling a shaved-ice at the moment; you can get lo-cal flavors; you can even just buy actual plain snoballs(for snowball fights… what?!) — basically you have a multitude of options available at Bahama Bucks that you might not have at many other places. That variety makes paying just a little more acceptable in my mind(especially when you consider how much you’ll pay at a Dairy Queen or Bruster’s for a cool dessert). My wife and I stopped in on Saturday, and were pretty pleased with what we tried — me, a Regular(16oz) Hurricane/Cherry/Lime mix, and her a Regular Jamaican Punch/Jamaican Rum mix. Both were extremely good and definitely hit the spot on a sunny, late Saturday afternoon. The amount we got for each of our orders was *extremely* generous, and the staff could not have been more helpful, friendly, or completely customer service-oriented than they were.(Yet another reason why a little extra cost can be worth it IMO.) And, thanks to a 2-for-1 coupon, we spent less than 4 bucks total. All in all, I think Bahama Bucks is a great place and has some really great flavors and products to offer. I definitely think it’s worth a try if you’re looking for a little more variety to beat the heat!

No. No. No. Turn around and go ½ mile up hwy 31. There’s a Sno Biz right next to Valleydale Rd, in the Publix parking lot. Not only are they better, but a third of the price. Never ever would I go to Bahama Bucks again. Unless you enjoy overpaying for an inferior product. A spoon that changes colors isn’t worth $ 3 extra.

The shaved ice here is not worth the price. Yes, they do offer the largest variety of flavors I have ever seen, but some of them taste horrible. The crème Brûlée flavor made me gag. If you are looking for good shaved ice in the area, I would go with Sno Biz. They sell better tasting shaved ice for a fraction of the cost.

This place offers a refreshing Hawaiian dessert. The Bahama Rama Mama is a traditional style shave ice that you can find throughout Hawaii. Shave ice is thin shavings of an ice block that create ice that is smooth like snow. This technique allows syrup to be absorbed by the ice. The Rama Mama has a scoop of ice cream in the bottom before the shaved ice is added. I had a small size with vanilla ice cream(Blue Bell) as the base, and cherry cola as the syrup topping. I thought it was pretty good, and the small size was plenty. There are many different flavors to choose from and include island favorites: pineapple, coconut, passion fruit, and mango. They also offer different flavors of ice cream, but I think mixing syrup with something other than vanilla may be a little tricky.
