Bits & Pieces Quilt Shop

I just returned from going to Bits and Pieces with my sister. Liz is always friendly as well as the other ladies that work there. We had a good time looking and no pressure to buy. I will go back.

I don’t understand these reviews at all. I bought a quilting machine from BNP and my service could not be better. They were wonderful for support. When I had problem with tension they had me come right in. When I said I might have made a mistake buying it was to much for me I was told to come in every week if needed till I was happy. I now LOVE my machine mostly because they offered so much help.
As for being friendly. beg to differ on this too. Usually you are greeted within minutes with offers of assistance if you need someone to help. On a Saturday or Sunday may take a little longer because it is a small shop and it gets very busy on those days during peak times. I don’t know about other reviewer but I hate it when shop workers hover over me when I am trying to either browse or match something on my own. That being said everyone at BNP is more that willing to assist if you ask for it. I myself don’t want to be escorted around a shop and being made to feel I have to purchase. Maybe other reviewer should have asked someone. After all… it is a quilt shop… Not Neiman Marcus haute coutoure when they come to you with the bolts of fabric.

I brought two quilts in to be stitched and was given a 3 to 4 week lead time. The first quilt was ready in FIVE WEEKS and I was told it would be ONE more week for the second quilt. ANOTHER THREE WEEKS later the second quilt was still not done, and after my pushing and complaining, the shop owner agreed to have it ready in 3 days (it took 4 days).
The first quilt came out beautiful and was of high quality work that I was very pleased with. However, it was obvious that the second quilt had been rushed and was of VERY POOR QUALITY. The batting was not flat and folded grooves could be felt through the quilt layers, the backing material was not flat and had half inch bubbling ridges throughout the entire quilt, and (other than the borders) the quilting was sporadic and not what I had asked for. Upon expression of my dissapointment, the owner was very pleasant and offered to restitch the quilt and have it ready within the week. Encouraged by the work on the first quilt I accepted her offer and I even offered to remove the initial quilting (to expedite delivery) but was told it was unneccessary. I stopped into the shop after 3 weeks to find that the initial quilting had not even been removed yet. Dissapointed that the owner did not take the opportunity to redeem herself and her quilting services, I requested a refund (which was provided without issue) and took my unfinished quilt (after TWELVE WEEKS).
I should have heeded earlier reviews but as it had been two years since the last review about quilting services I figured things happen and businesses change and decided to try them out. This shop has significant TIME MANAGEMENT ISSUES, an INABILITY TO DELIVER upon promised leadtimes, and most importantly POOR COMMUNICATION skills (as I never recieved any phone calls or updates indicating unforseen time delays).
As a result this shop will not receive any future business from me, I have a daughter who will not have the quilt that was planned as a gift for her birthday (which is in 1 week), and I pulled out all of the stitches so it could be REDONE.
