History
Established in 2012.
Mayuri Gonzalez and Lindsay Malejko first met in a Yoga training in 2012. They immediately connected because of their common experience as mothers of young children living in Pelham. At the end of the course they agreed that they needed to find some way to continue to work together. They shared a similar vision: to bring yoga and wellness to their community, and to share the transformational power of Yoga with children and adults. They knew that they wanted to find a location for their studio in their home town of Pelham. When the space at 136 Fifth Avenue opened up, the two women jumped on the opportunity. The studio formally opened on August 1, 2012 under the name «Prasanthi Studio» — which means ‘undisturbed inner peace’ in Sanskrit. Since its founding, the studio has flourished and is rapidly becoming a leading center for students in the area who are looking for a spiritually and physically enriching Yoga practice.
