When I walked into the Purple Onion, I noticed that the place was clean, and there was a wide variety of food. Since I don’t eat meat, I usually have to order fries or sides. Not here! There was a large variety of food for me. I was in heaven, so it took a while for me to make up my mind. I ordered a baked potato with broccoli, cheese, sour cream, AND butter!!! Yes!!! I love baked potatoes, but this monster of a potato had me stuffed before I could eat half. Thankfully, I was able to reheat it the next day. My sister order the baked potato with shrimp and other toppings, my mother ordered a gyro, and my nephew had the wings. We all shared the fried okra, which we were perfect. The prices are cheap, but one person can eat off of one baked potato for two days.

Under impressed. Ok food cheap utensils for a not so cheap meal in a place that just makes you want to wash your hands

decent quick greek fare. Rice and chicken and veggies are good. The place feels grungy and dirty and if distance were no factor I’d pick Olive Branch, Eli’s or Makarios over this place, but it is pretty good and affordable when you want something different.

a little pricey but i keep coming back for more. nice change from the other restaurants in the area. good chicken fingers and fries for the kids who might not want to be as adventurous. will continue to go back.

Loved the gyro meat. It was tender and was delightfully crispy on the edges. The seasoning was spot on. They have outdoor seating. They also have drive thru which was so convenient. I got the sampler and it was a great way to try a couple different things. It was my first time there so my rating is based on very little experience but I can’t complain about any of it. So they earned the stars!!!

I like the food, but I guess I’m used to paying a little less. Know what though? Ill gladly pay more for food that is fresh and not greasy. This place rocks.

Purple onion is decent mediterranean food. This location isnt all that nice ambiance wise and probably survives because there isnt an Al’s next door. I’ve had their gyro plate, which is always pretty good.

Greek food cooked by non-english speaking Hispanics; what the heck was I thinking??? Pre-processed meat-like substance being handed off as authentic. no taste, dry, formed into something similar to the size of a Hershey Bar, placed in a bed of a bad version of Uncle Ben’s wild rice… which I had to actually spit out it was so horrible. I spent twice as much for half as much at this place. I couldn’t eat it. My dog was hesitant… but finally ate some of it… but we all know… dogs drink from toilets. Which brings me to my last and final thought. The place smelled«funky» like Body odor mixed with a touch of backed up sewer and a lot of desperation. I would have liked to taken my order back(we carried out to a hotel) but didn’t want to endure one more minute associated with this place. Sorry guys… you just don’t cut it.

This Purple Onion has never let me down. Food is always good and fresh and well seasoned at a decent price. Service is quick and friendly. Good job guys.
Is this the absolute best Mediterranean food I have ever had? No, of course not. But this is the only Med restaurant that I have ever seen where I can get hummus and a gyro in the drive thru. And that right there is 4 star worthy in my book. I love the hummus. I could probably eat just hummus as a meal. I love the grilled chicken gyro. Even their fries are pretty tasty. Heck, I’d even go for their chicken fingers. And of course, the mint tea is amazing. There are other things on the menu I am not a big fan of, but that’s ok. I stick with what I like. For casual food in a hurry that tastes yummy, this place is a go to in my book.

The falafel pita wrap is $ 5. It was decent and the falafel tasted fine but the wrap was dry. There’s a lot more air in this giant wrap than you’d expect and bordered tasteless. This is terrible to me as I’m accustomed to Mediterranean food having lots of fresh flavors. The outside seating is nice and decorative.

Yea, I’m a fan of their take on Mediterranean dishes. I had the Chef’s Salad($ 6.55) and loved it. The ranch dressing was extra thick, rich and creamy. Terrific no frills lunch spot complete with plastic utensils and counter service. Great place to eat healthy!

This is a good local restaurant serving Mediterranean food. It is very casual and the food is inexpensive. Orders are placed at the service counter and the food is delivered to you on disposable dishware. The food is prepared to order and it is very good. I recommend the Gyro plate. The plate is a generous serving of sliced lamb and beef gyro served on a bed of wild rice. The plate includes a small Greek salad that is topped with a cube of fresh mozzarella cheese, humus dip, and pita bread. The Grilled Tilapia is also an excellent choice. The Purple Onion also offers a mint sweet tea that is unique and refreshing.
