Just found this place… hidden gem. Fish is super fresh. Rolls are unique and tasty. We will definitely come back and order delivery in the future.

What a great sushi spot. The fish was incredibly fresh, it very well prepared, and I would highly recommend it! The prices are not to steep, and the customer service was excellent.

Fantastic, fresh sushi. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Staff were incredibly attentive, and the sushi chef came out to explain each piece. Reasonable prices.

We ordered DELIVERY for the first time the other night as the temperature was bitter cold! Dinner arrived in 30 minutes. Everything was hot, the order was complete, and the food was great! We got a variety of rolls, katsu, and tempura. Love this place!

While the standard rolls are a little small the food is excellent and the boxes are large and delicious as well as the specialty rolls. I’ve been there several times now and the service is excellent. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. I am going out of my way to right this for others indicated bad service. If that was the case it certainly has been fixed. Great job!

Gave this restaurant a 2nd chance tonight after a lackluster dinner there soon after it first opened earlier this year, and we should have stayed away. People in our town who are worried that this restaurant(one of the very few non-pizza places in town) might close, post feverish pleas on social media to come out and support them. Too many things went wrong to go into(long wait, no drinks, no water, no food, wrong food, and on and on). We will not be going back, and good riddance if they do close.

The fish is always fresh and the sushi chefs always makes a great presentation! I recommend trying the omakase where they use the freshest fish of the day. The sake options are phenomenal and different. The green tea is a must for a cold day.

YES ~ I have finally found an Asian Fusion place with Bento Boxes that rock! I have not had a chance to dine in, so my review is based on delivery only. Pleasant ordering experience over the phone, usual delivery time and considering its the lunch-hour, I’ve never waited more than 30 minutes. Good food, good service. California rolls are on the money.

Went for dinner with family and friends. Ordered the Omakase for three and felt that I should have just ordered individual rolls. While the presentation was fine, the sushi pieces were small. Had to order grilled squid and beef yakitori, which I found tastier than the sushi. We also ordered the Udon and Gyoza, which were fine.

Firstly, I can’t stress how badly Pelham was in need of a spot for sushi, and many will agree based on how crowded this place can get. One shall never assume people aren’t willing to travel outside of their area for a night out; so I’ll share how mine went with Sakura. On a night with temperatures in the single digits, we had the privilege to be seated right near the entrance aside three unoccupied tables that were together for what appeared to be for a party of six. As people kept opening the door, each gust of cold air annoyed us a little more until I asked if we can switch to the table further from the entrance but was told that table for«for bigger party» which was understandable until a couple came in and was seated at one of the tables further from the door. When I asked why they were able to sit there, the server pretended to not understand what I was saying; NICE! In conclusion, the food is average compared to what you can get 10 to 20 minutes away in any direction surrounding this place.

Though I’ve never sat down to eat at this restaurant I’ve gotten take-out for lunch a few times and each time was a little less pleasing than the first. At first I was pleased to see that they offered a lunch special, 2 rolls for $ 10.95, or 3 for $ 13.95 with a miso soup or salad. The first thing I noticed was that the pieces were a bit small compared to most rolls I’ve had, which kind of put a damper on the deal I felt I was getting for the price. Taste-wise, they’re pretty okay, definitely fresh, but not the best I’ve had. The miso soup is also half the size of the standard small soup container that I’m used to. I’ve had similar specials at other sushi restaurants and I’d never been offered miso soup that small. It also tends to be mostly broth with a few flimsy pieces of seaweed. Also, almost every time I go to pick up my meal I end up standing awkwardly towards the back of the restaurant waiting for my meal, no matter how far ahead I called. I’m pretty patient but it’s awkward standing there amongst diners waiting for my meal to be finished. Once I waited only to have to return because I realized that my miso soup was not in the bag. Despite all this, I decided to try the place a few more times since it’s a new place, but each time I felt rather indifferent to my meal, if not disappointed. However, this last meal I had was pretty displeasing. I decided to skip the lunch special and try one of their specialty rolls, their Yama roll(as per their menu: «spicy tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado wrapped w. soybean seaweed topped w. eel, crunch tobiko»). After I ordered I was told 10 minutes, and even though I gave them quite a bit more time than that(I went to the supermarket nearby to pick up some things) I was disappointed to find that I’d once again have to wait. As I waited I noticed that the chef had a hard time putting my roll together and was quite flustered about it. Unfortunately, when I went to actually eat the roll, it showed. Every single piece fell apart and I was left with an unappealing mess. The«soybean seaweed» was loosely wrapped and couldn’t at all hold the weight of everything in the roll. I would have waited an extra few minutes to have my roll done properly. I also did not taste any eel at all, which was disappointing because I really enjoy eel. I was really rooting for this place because I love sushi but I’ve had much better sushi and service elsewhere.

I was so happy that a sushi restaurant was now within walking distance! Eh. Decent quality sushi, nothing ammmaaazing, but it does the trick. Their gyoza is seared perfectly, light and crispy. My go-to here. The veggie gyoza however, is a miss for me. I have had a few hot dishes, and UGH. Skip the pineapple fried rice – super mushy, no texture, way too much egg. I’ve also ordered edamame, and it smelled like bad eggs. Also a no. Service needs a LOT of work. The staff doesn’t know what’s in the dishes. What is that?! What about allergies? The wait time is usually excessive for takeout. On average I end up waiting 15 – 20 minutes, even though I never arrive before the stated time frame. I guess this is the price I will pay for close-by sushi.

I didn’t want to do this. But after three terrible customer service experiences it’s only right. Don’t get me wrong, the food is very very good but that’s only half the experience of spending your hard earned money to eat out. To sum it up they are slow. Now kind of slow but two hours for a delivery slow(happened twice). Then you think ordering to pick up was any better but when I did I was forced to wait just as long except an hour of it on their outside ledge. Oh and I ordered SUSHI and apps. Come on people. Get it together or you’ll lose business. You lost mine.

I’m not sure what other people are talking about that this is the best sushi they ever had. First of all upon going into this restaurant the bathroom smelled really bad like if there was garbage in there. I could kind understand if it were later in the day but it was only 6 pm on a Saturday and the restaurant wasn’t full at all. I ordered gyoza, miso soup and sea bass sashimi. The gyoza was warm not hot. The miso soup tasted as the same as every other Japanese restaurant I don’t think that will ever change. When I finally received the sashimi it was in a small porcelain container like if what you would put ketchup in. I didn’t think too much about it. When I tasted it, it was sweet. I was thinking what is going on here. What kind of sushi or sashimi is sweet? I stopped eating after eating the first. I told the waitress that this is not how it should taste as all. Where was the rice and why are the pieces so small? So tried to make it better by giving me only the sashimi but it was still 3 pieces that very small. The portions were too small and no rice was given on it. I lived in Japan for numerous years and I have no idea what this was. They attempted to dress it up as some sort of culinary delicacy. It’s just sushi. Keep it simple and nothing to distract from the original taste of it.

This is a great restaurant for Sushi, I can’t speak for any of it’s other options. We went here for lunch, and were seated quickly. The service was okay, a little slow(probably some growing pains). The real star of the show was the Sushi, it was fresh and delectable. This sushi rivals some of the sushi I have had in NYC, and I will surely be going back for more. All I was able to try was the sushi, none of their other offerings so I can’t tell you much more about those. Overall, great sushi with an interesting décor.

I am so relieved to have a new restaurant in Pelham that’s not Italian and doesn’t appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. I’ve lived here for two and a half years and am still surprised at the amount of turnover with restaurants in town. Luckily, Sakura seems to be getting rave reviews from every person who has eaten there. Though I can’t currently speak to the quality of sushi(pregnancy, etc.), I can say that the food I ate was delicious: I love that they thinly pounded the chicken karage, the miso tasted lighter than standard, and though there are no hibachi tables, I got a heaping portion of hibachi fried rice, shrimp and vegetables with my lunch order. Our waitress came by frequently to check on us and our son and the prices were very decent. Now I just have to wait for them to start delivery!
