Found it! Fantastic cocktails/beers in comfortable tavern setting filled with friendly locals. One word for a place like this: outstanding! Must-try drink: Elderflower Cocktail– move over white sangria, this fruity drink is ultimate refreshing concoction for a hot summer day! And the flavor variations are practically endless! Food: Tempura Fried Shrimp– fresh jumbo size shrimps fried perfectly with a delicious coconut curry dipping sauce. Dessert: Brownie Sundae– A brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and serve with warm chocolate sauce. Wowzers! Service: Awesome bartenders! They were very attentive. They even helped me placed a zombie birthday candle onto the a birthday sundae to surprise the person I was with for his bday. Highly recommended for anyone who is in the South Shore area.

This place is great! They have my favorite wine, the rolls are warm and delish, and my meal — the Panko Chicken Pasta — was so good. SOGOOD. I honestly wouldn’t change a thing, and would love to go back to try the pizza and desserts.

The tuna app is delish. Staff is good. Food is overpriced for what it is and where it is.(Except for the tuna app. It really is that good) Nice lunch spot, esp given there is very little in this area to compare it with.

We hadn’t been here since this spot turned over… again. The first thing to note is that the big parking lot is valet only. You can park on the street or in a tiny lot on the other side of the building. While the valet is free, the tip is not. The valet service is unnecessary cost. Inside is not thing special, nice but not too nice. The food was pretty good, albeit a bit pricey for some items. The blue cheese steak was good, slightly undercooked but a good dish. It was really loud for only being half full. You had to work at table conversation. The waitress was very nice, knowledgable and responsive. I wouldn’t avoid this place, but I’m not dying to go back either.

A carnivore and a vegan go out to dinner… and the vegan leaves hungry. Salad isn’t a meal. Had high hopes that this place would be somewhere we could go and have a nice meal together. Interior is very nice, great bar. Food — meh. When asked if there was anything they could make, the response was«We have vegetables. What do you want?» So, I offered a modification to one of the salads… what appeared was a plate full of spinach leaves and some tiny pieces of mushrooms and peppers. Is it so hard to put a vegan option on the menu? Veggie burgers come in all kinds of flavors now and cauliflower and portobello ‘steaks’ are popping up on menus all over the place. 1940 is over, meat and potatoes isn’t the standard any more. This is probably a great place if you want standard food that you can get everywhere else in town — and the prices seem a little high for the same food you can get everywhere else…

Let me start by saying I am a big fatso that travels around the world and eats things. I know good food and service. This is my third time eating at this establishment and the review is based on my opinion mixed with the opinions of my fellow patrons. First the positives. The décor is South Shore, MA and is very nice. There is a large bar and everything appears tidy and clean. The service is amazing and every staff member is friendly, polite and professional. So far… we are talking five stars. Now the negatives. First the parking. There is not enough self parking and one must valet their vehicle. The funny thing is the valet drives your car ten feet; looks and feels like a way to simulate a high class experience and a shake down for cash. No worries car park attendants need jobs but my vehicle is worth over 150k and I hate to hand it over to strangers. Second negative is the menu. The menu consists of the usual neighborhood tavern items. Burgers, pizza, fish, pasta and a few specials. There is a contradiction in the mood set by restaurant and the menu offerings. Third and most important is the food. Portions are not large(not small either) and tastes average at best. My party of nine had only two members that would return for another meal. I am not saying the food is bad; just that it is not good. The pasta dishes were rated the best and the pizza rated the worst as inedible. Fourth are the prices. They are inflated for the value. In brief, you have a nice décor with great staff, serving average to below average food and INFLATED pricing. Thus the Meh rating.

First time and last time here ! After being seated we waited 20 mins for our server. I got the jambalaya it was more like rice with a bland spaghetti sauce the menu says it is spicy but it was anything but for $ 18 it had an ounce chicken and 3 shrimps after adding half the salt shaker and a ramekin of hot sauce I was able to eat it !!

Don’t usually write reviews but this place deserves a bad review. We had gone to the Fairview many times but mostly for the view. We went to Disch’s former owners of the Fsirview for our Anniversary to give it a try. The waitress was not very bright first of all and messed up our order completely. The service was horrible and the food was bland and overly priced. In the end we waited almost 20 minutes for our check. The place was not overly busy for a Thursday night. The staff needs some serious training and learn customer etiquette. Bottom line; we are very patient people but I would not go back to this place. Two thumbs down !!

Pizza was excellent, even though they didn’t give me extra cheese. Not much sauce but still very good. Crust is very thin. It’s like a medium sized pizza. Enjoyed the rolls. Rolls were great.

Went here this past Friday night, parking lot was packed but we did not have to wait to sit at the bar. The inside is spacious and bar quite large. There was also complimentary parking but I was able to find a spot. Beer choice is better than most places. They had Main Beer Co. on tap and Mayflower Cooper Series in bottles, not bad! We started off with a bowl of Clam Chowder and a crab cake. Both were very good! We shared a pizza and were equally pleased. The bartender was extremely pleasant and on top of his game! He thanked us for coming and and said he hoped to see us again soon and shook our hands! We will be back! Regarding the post below, how can you be a «actual food critic for Unilocal» and only have one review. I wonder what other lies are posted on the Internet ;)

The food is above average the portions are small. The reason for the low star rating is that when I call at 5:15 in the afternoon for takeout they pick up and hang the phone up twice! On the third call they picked up. I tell them I would like to do a takeout order, they said we are too busy we just shut down takeout. All I wanted was a bowl of clam chowder for a sick family member. They tell me sorry we can’t even do a bowl of chowder we are so busy. Customer service just isn’t there. Like I said food is above average, portions are small. Poor customer service. Next time I want to eat local and have better food, portions, and customer service I will go to the Bridgeway in Marshfield

Bland. Extremely underwhelming. I truly do not understand the hype. I can get behind the following because the family seems really nice, the old school patrons are dedicated/also appreciate the same staff. Who were nice. The food is just so boring.

While I was sad to see the ownership of the Fairview move out of Marshfield, I am so glad they have found their new home in Pembroke! I’ve been twice now(compared to the 6 or 7 times I went to the Fairview) and have yet to have a bad meal. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive. The drinks are great. It does get crowed quickly so be patient when waiting. It’ll be worth the wait! The function room is beautiful and can seat a larger group that I expected. I can’t wait to have my rehearsal dinner here in June 2016!

Marshfield’s loss is Pembroke’s gain! Finally a decent«go to» establishment that will satisfy without burning the wallet. Great friendly bar and wait staff. I have had the opportunity to have lunch on several occasions over the past few weeks. Great burgers, good draft beer selections and awesome salads! I am looking forward to coming back here for dinner some evening … Soon.

Three stars for rudeness. Would have given 4 as the food was very good. The owner should know that«Jen» who answers the phone needs a lesson in phone etiquette 101. I called to make a reservation for 6 people and she rudely replied«we don’t take reservations» oh well, YOU lost out on a nice fat bill that we ended up giving to the Mockingbird …

Saw this place mobbed on weekends and heard some good things from some, but I had a slightly below avg experience. The room and bar is nice. And has been since they remodeled post Hacket’s — however, the atmosphere was a little subdued with all the tvs on and no sound. Some house music was playing but it was faint, so it almost has a waiting room feeling. The servers are very friendly and prompt. I ordered a special: corned beef and cabbage, and there was not much meat. I’m not one to complain unless something is prepared wrong, but it was a portion geared to seniors it felt like. I ate it in 5 minutes, and went home only to find myself getting take out from Tsangs at 11:30. I spent $ 30 at Disch’s and then spent $ 15 two hours later. I’ll give it another shot, but I get a feeling that this is what the general theme is, based on what I dealt with on top of a few other recent reviews.

First time here under the new ownership. The bar is full and the restaurant seating is also full. Did I mention that it is Monday night. The menu is a wide range of apps, salads, entrees, pasta, sandwiches, pizza, and a specials page. Bartender and hostess was friendly and greeted with a smile. Good beer and wine selections. Im looking forward to a long future with this restaurant. Im going to try the shepherds pie. The shepards pie was very good, very filling and flavorful, it came with a little salad on the side. The risotto cake was nice, the sauce is tasty. We will be back.
