I think the obelisk is neat, in its own way, and you can see some beautiful Kentucky territory in every direction, but the real treasure is the little museum where the history of how the monument was built, as well as a brief retelling of Jefferson Davis’ life and career, as well as some background about the Kentucky soldiers who fought for this not-quite-in-the-Confederacy state. Not too far off the beaten track for those driving down towards Atlanta. Well worth a visit for those who love Jefferson Davis, the Confederacy, and Southern History.

This was very cool too see, and so tall. I didn’t think it would be that crazy high. It is a great piece of history to see. If you get a chance go!
