The Slate Pub

I’m a local, I eat here at least weekly. Why? Because the Slate exemplifies perfection in service, food and atmosphere! It is the quintessential local bar (think cheers). Where u are greeted with a smile, a cold drink and then lulled into bliss with excellent bar food. Highlights: wings, bone in is my personal favorite! all flavors! Salads, Burgers, Quesadillas, Edamame and Pierogi.

Do not order the nachos unless you like the fake cheese that is squirted on. Horrible experience. No real cheese in the picture at all. And pricey for fake stuff.

The Slate stared out as one of my favorite local eateries, but something has changed recently that has disappointed me twice in two visits. Their seems to be a lot of new servers there and that is not a positive thing at all. During a sit down dinner with friends last week, 2 of 3 meals arrived to the table cold. We gave up waiting for the server to return to the table and just ate the cold stuffed flounder entrees. This past weekend I called a wing order in for medium wings with blue cheese on the side. What i had when I got home was mild wings with ranch dressing. Not sure when or if I will return again but one more strike and they are out!

Great small town bar. I have sampled quite a number of their menu items, and have rarely been disappointed. Their cocktail menu is rather nice and changes seasonally. There is also a good selection of craft beer by the bottle, and the draft beer selection doesn’t stop with the regular lagers and lite beers. The wing flavors are good, but the sauces are a bit watery for my liking. I prefer a sauce to stick to the wing, but these are always swimming in a pool of liquid. Overall a great place to catch a bite and a drink with friends. (Except for DJ nights, the music is deafening for such a small space and the enjoyable atmosphere is lost. However, this seems like a DJ problem, not the bar itself)

Their buffalo chicken pizza is probably the best I’ve ever had, and it’s reasonably priced, too. Other food is above average, but it gets only 3 stars because the drinks are overpriced.

The wings are very good. Hot wings are in fact, hot. I tried the chipotle lime wings and they were good, maybe a bit more sauce than I prefer, but tasty. I’ve had a few specials and they were freshly made and good. The flatbread pizza was homemade bread with homemade sauce. Next time I’d get toppings because mozzarella itself is pretty tasteless. It’s well executed pub food. I like the atmosphere and there is positive energy in the place.

Lovely atmosphere! Awesome music playing, great beers, great wings and clams. An amazing service!

Live in NJ, but went to The Slate for the first time last night and was very impressed. The service is friendly, the atmosphere is friendly and the foo is excellent. Looking forward to going again when I visit my parents this summer.

My husband and I are there almost every Sunday or Monday for the 45¢ wing special. They have the best wings in the area and many sauce selections to choose from for the brave and the not-​so-​brave tastebuds. They also have $ 5 steak sandwiches on a Sunday night. Great food! Great atmosphere! Great Service! Great, friendly staff! You will not regret stopping here for a meal.

This place was known as a biker bar but the new owners completely gutted the place and changed EVERYTHING. The first time I stepped into the Slate I couldn’t believe it was the same place! It looks absolutely amazing!
It is now my local bar and I love it there! The owners, bartenders, and waitstaff all make you feel so welcome. It is such a well rounded restaurant and bar. Its great to go and grab some drinks at the bar, but it is also a great family restaurant. My favorite part about the bar is that they have great draft and bottle selections for beer… finally some decent beer in this town!
The food is also really good. From bar pizza, to wings, cheesteaks, and even veggie burgers, there’s a great selection for everyone and its all delicious!
Seriously get your butt to the slate… now…

Food wasn’t great. Servers hanging around the bar… Wings were swimming in sauce, they were actually terrible… I couldn’t eat them. Yuck. I’ll never be back.

This is my local pub and we are thrilled it is here and has undergone tremendously changes over the course of several owners, each time improving. This is was originally a Pennsylvania old man bar which moved down to a «knockdown drag out» place and is now, with the addition of much needed of ample parking has become a local favorite. The food is solid pub fare with a huge selection of award winning wings. Bar pizza’s are very well done and last night I had a rib eye steak which was surprisingly great! Wings and a steak less than a mile from your house… I’m in.

The garlic butter cheesesteak is delicious, the wings deserve their award winning title, and the Martini Flight was awesome!
