If they don’t have it, you don’t need it great for hard to find or quirky patterns and great prices for your more standard stuff

inattentive, unhelpful, curt, and discriminative staff. originally my mom raved about this place, that she went there as a kid and all the ladies working are all very nice… i wanted to see if they carried premium felt. no one knew what it was for starters. a woman pointed to the counter where there appeared to be a random roll of green felt. i replied I’m looking for a thicker felt. that’s when i tried to explain what it was and was shown to a corner where it was just regular felt. no one followed up with assistance which is surprising given i was the only customer. like i said, very curt, no one seemed trained in customer service or interested for that matter :/ i was literally the only customer in the store and there was 4 employees standing and sitting talking amongst each other. in fact, i was made to feel like i was actually bothering them. i asked for help and none of the women wanted to give me assistance. sadly enough i feel its because I’m an attractive younger woman. they sent the guy over to help, who happened to look like the only one working. Sorry, i try to support independently owned businesses but i took my ass right over to joann fabrics and fortunately found what i was looking for.

J&O Fabrics has a great selection of cotton prints, and the prices of these fabrics are slightly less expensive than some of the fabric stores in NYC. When I travel to the Philadelphia area, I make it a point to stop at J&O. It is unfortunate that the store lacks quality customer service. Considering that it is a family business, I would expect a more customer-friendly shopping experience there. On a recent visit, when I inquired about getting a small amount of yardage cut, I was abruptly told that they«absolutely would not cut less than ½ yard pieces.» I would have appreciated more accommodating customer service without the attitude. Thumbs down to J&O’s policies and customer service.

I placed an order yesterday for Green Bay cotton fabric and a solid gold poly/cotton fabric. I received a call today from Eric who suggested a better match with the«yellow» in the Green Bay fabric would be a lemon shade. I was absolutely«floored» — I have never experienced this level of such great customer service in my life. I have worked in retail/retail related positions my entire career and this phone call simply amazed me. Thank you!!! You have moved to the top of my «resource» list and I will be shouting your praise to everyone. Thank you for making my day. Debbie Bush

Fabric. Fabric. Fabric. Fabric. So much fabric it makes my heart sing. This is not your grandmothers fabric store. Modern selection of fabrics that inspire you to create. Do you need denim? They got it. Do you need Robert Koffman fabric? They got it. Need to make drapes? They got your fabric. Fabrics prices not more expensive than anywhere else.

I’ve been to J&O several times, and they do have an amazing selection of cotton fabrics in great hard to find designs. I give them that credit. I’m like a kid walking into a candy store. I have the luxury of living a township over from them. The prices are decent, they could work out on offering coupons or better specials. The only thing I have to give them a thumbs down on his customer relations. Although I can already tell just by walking in(from the amount of workers they have on hand) that a huge portion of their business comes from internet sales. While these workers were busy locating bolts, cutting and fulfilling these online orders the store lacks the friendly small hometown staff I was sort of expecting. Yes the workers are knowledgeable on where to locate in the store exactly what I was looking for but bonus points are given for personality which is exactly what the employees are lacking. A friendly smile, a I’ll take those off your hands and set them on the counter for you for when you’re ready to have them cut, a simple my name is and I’ll be right over there if you need anything really does go a long ways. Yes they’re not overbearing its because they’re busy fulfilling internet orders to bother you.

Best fabric center EVER. Bar none. They have the BIGGEST selection of any store(even Jo-Ann) and they are all neatly organized by subject and colour! There’s no shortage of anything you need here, especially if you are a novelty fabric freak like me! Service is always great. Friendly at checkout — not too overbearing where they follow you around. Prices are average. They do have clearance items in the back, though, for dirt cheap!
