Cary became a licensed bail agent in Florida in 1989 and during the 20+ years He has been an agent, He has worked in a variety of situations that called for creative thinking, working with the court system and law enforcement, and working with a wide range of personalities in the hundreds of clients he has assisted.

His involvement with professional bail organizations has been extensive and he has held leadership roles ranging from educational chairman to director at-​large to President for the Florida Surety Agents Association (FSAA) and is a current member of B.A.I.L. Florida and currently serves on their educational and legislative committees. He was appointed to the Blue Ribbon panel by Florida Insurance Commissioner Tom Gallagher, tasked with revising F.S. 648 and worked with agents throughout Florida to accomplish the goal. He has been instrumental in developing content for continuing education classes both in a classroom setting and in online courses.
