Breakfast kicked! Grits, eggs, steak– all done right. Beignets were soooo good. Enjoy!

Pleasantly full and happy after ingesting The Mullet Big Breakfast. Hubby had the western omelet, country ham, wheat toast, hash browns n grits. The coffee could’ve been stronger. All n all this was a sure fire 5. The genuine attention from our server Mary was impeccable. We WILL be back and will spread the word to stop in for some good eats. Well done CJ’S staff. Now off for a blissful nap.

The atmosphere is strictly greasy spoon, but this is probably the best breakfast place in town and the dining room is almost always packed to capacity as a result. The food is fantastic(try the chicken and waffles!), the staff has the demeanor of proper Southern diner personnel with the speed cranked up to 11 and the prices are extremely reasonable. Every now and then it gets a little too crowded and the AC can struggle a bit to keep up with the crush of patrons, the roaring kitchen and Florida heat, but I can’t recommend this place enough.

Wow what a disappointment! The waitress said«good food but bad service». She was absolutely correct! We waiting a lengthy time to order and receive our food. We were totally on a tight schedule and didn’t appreciate the delay we experienced at the grill. We ordered the 2+2+2 and crab cakes. Pancakes were ok… And the crab cakes were salty. We were hungry so it was alright. We will not be back. The waitress was very sweet though! I will going to ihop or the barrel. Pcola needs more breakfast spots!!!

The diner of diners. Small, quaint, and amazing food, which is all cooked to order. No doubt in our mind that we’ll be back.

It’s decent food. Nothing great about it. Just basic breakfast food, I don’t get why they are ever that busy

Good food and good prices. My husband and I were in town for a quick mini vacation on a budget. Whenever we go somewhere I look for groupon so we can try new places without breaking the bank. This place isn’t fine dining by any means but definitely worth the price and the food was good. He had the breakfast sampler and I had the crab cakes Benedict. It was way more than either of us could eat by ourselves and we were very pleased. Will definitely be back on our next trip.

I only heard about this place a few weeks ago, but since it looked busy when I drove by we decided to give it a try. The interior is mostly non-descript and a little small. Depending on when you go, you might need to wait for a little for a seat. The people are nice and kept my coffee cup filled the entire time. The food was good for diner food and definitely enough to fill one up. The coffee was ‘eh’ but hot. There are about 12 tables and a small counter area. You seat yourself when entering. I had the CJ’s New Orleans dish, which was hash browns, eggs, a light pastry, sausage, and hollandaise sauce. Very good flavor. Prices were reasonable. Overall I did enjoy the experience and would certainly choose to go back.

Other than the serving temperature of the biscuits and gravy everything was spot on. Good service.

Place was alright. It was really busy and its first come first serve on the honor system. Just have to stand there and wait for a seat to open so that you can snatch it up. Small restaurant. Service was backed up due to all of the people waiting. Took long to get our food. The food was okay, nothing special about it. Friendly staff. They offer military discount.

This place has to be the most unorganized restaurant I’ve been to in a while. Waited an hour to sit, then waited an hour to order followed by an hour to get our meals! By the time I got my food I wasn’t hungry anymore because I had chewed my arm off.

Stopped in for some bignets before leaving the panhandle. As delicious as Café Dumond’s bignets and much closer to Navarre. We’ll be back!

Went in for breakfast early on a Tuesday. Locals were out in full force and the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. Place is very clean inside and looks nice. Server was prompt and polite. I ordered the andouille plate and one beignet(normally there are three beignets to an order but I couldn’t eat that many). I’m not a beignet expert but what I got was awesome. It was tender and creamy inside and crisp on the out. Would definitely come again and get a full order. The andouille plate came with three eggs, sausage, grits, hash browns, biscuit and a little bowl of chilled fruit. The eggs and sausage were great. Biscuit not homemade or warm… disappointment. Hash browns«brown» on the outside but not very warm inside… perhaps frozen originally? Actually loved the fruit as it wasn’t drowning in syrup. Also learned the cornbeef hash is from a can… disappointed but hardly anyone makes fresh anymore. I like this place for it’s location and a nice change from Hardee’s for breakfast choices. Would definitely come back for the beignets and simple fare like eggs and sausage.

Must get beignets! Husband and I have found our little breakfast place in Pensacola. Everything made to order. Had real hashbrowns not like other places in town that serve breakfast potatoes. I had French toast that was lightly battered. My husband had huge omelet. Friendly staff!

CJ’s is kind a run of the mill diner here in Pensacola, I really can’t think of anything that makes them stand out. I’ve been here at least twice and the normal breakfast food is totally adequate and well priced. On my last visit I decided to splurge and try the crab cake Benedict… I would not recommend this, it was not enjoyable in the least nor was there anything fresh tasting about it. I ended up not eating most of it. If you’re just stopping by for a fairly quick simple breakfast without breaking the bank you should be plenty satisfied, just don’t come here looking for anything above average.

Another one of Marc’s faves and I’m starting to trust his judgment. Had the andouille, grits, and scrambled eggs. I loooooooove grits, andouille, and scrambled eggs. Service was amazing. Cute place. Cannot wait to come back.

CJ’s is the type of place where the regulars are many, the coffee always fresh, and your meal is cooked by a grizzled 40-something guy in a 15-year-old NASCAR t-shirt. I had the Napoleon which was ok, but certainly nothing phenomenal — the cheese on top was kinda gross and greasy. They do have very good beignets, though. Yum. Get those if you ever find yourself at CJ’s. A decent spot for a cheaper breakfast, but next time I’d probably try somewhere else.
